Good Choice...It is coming out of the oven as we speak...
From Roselene as a
dedication to a lost brother who passed away in 1993
I Miss You
It seems like it was just
yesterday when I learned of your death.
It was devastating to say the least.
It was hard accepting the fact that I will never speak with you on the phone
again let alone see you.
I miss hearing your voice.
Growing up, we hardly knew each other.
The short years we spent together did not do us justice.
We never became the traditional brother and sister, loving, sharing,
and taking care of each other.
Due to circumstances, you had to go away seeking a better life.
I was just a young girl when you left our country.
You only remembered me as the little girl you left behind.
The little sister you tried to protect.
And then several years later I, too, left our country.
We came close yet so far.
As the years flew by, we found all kinds of excuses as to why we
couldn't visit each other.
And then unexpectedly, you made your final exit.
Just like so many things in life, your untimely death did not make sense.
You were not satisfied with what life had to offer....
You did not have the patience to deal with life's burden....
So you chose a different path.
That path seemed more promising and exciting.
That path led you to seek fulfillment in the wrong places.
Despite numerous warning signs, you would not stand to reason.
You were too wrapped up to get out of the danger zones until it was
already too late.
We never had the chance to see how you'd changed.
You never had the chance to see how I'd changed.
You never saw the grown woman I've become.
In your eyes, I was and always will be a little girl.
I wish we had taken the time to visit each other before one of us
passed away.
We never had the chance to say good-bye.
I suppose it was not meant to happen.
Although you are gone, I occasionally feel your presence.
I miss you and think of you often.
Wherever you are, I hope you are in a better place.
I hope you find fulfillment and happiness.
Since I wont be seeing you on earth, I hope to see you in heaven.
May God forgive all your sins and accept you with open arms.
May your spirit guide your children through safer paths.
I will always miss you.
May you rest in peace.

From D.B. Sweet @ Soho/Study/7126 as a dedication to his wife of 19 years...
I Will Be There
When life makes you weary, rest on my lap.
When life makes you enlivened, dance in my arms.
When life makes you sad, cry on my shoulder.
When life makes you happy, laugh in my embrace.
When life makes you anxious, seek comfort in my strength.
When life makes you calm, enjoy the rhythm of our beating hearts.
In all of life, reach for me and I will be there.

My Special List
I have a list of folks I know...
all written in a book,
And every now and then..
I go and take a look.
That is when I realize these names...
they are a part,
not of the book they're written in...
but taken from the heart.
For each Name stands for someone...
who has crossed my path sometime,
and in that meeting they have become...
the reason and the rhyme.
Although it sounds fantastic...
for me to make this claim,
I really am composed...
of each remembered name.
Although you're not aware...
of any special link,
just knowing you, has shaped my life...
more than you could think.
So please don't think my greeting...
as just a mere routine,
your name was not...
forgotten in between.
For when I send a greeting...
that is addressed to you,
it is because you're on the list...
of folks I'm indebted to.
So whether I have known you...
for many days or few,
in some ways you have a part...
in shaping things I do.
I am but a total...
of many folks I've met,
you are a friend I would prefer...
never to forget.
Thank you for being my friend!
