NAME: Giles de Rais

A hero of the Hundred Years War, this master butcher lost his ready source of hapless victims with the end of hostilities in 1433. But the grizzly glee he took in rape and torture was far from over. For years the Baron's henchmen abducted small children, brought them to the castle, and then watched as their master defiled, dismembered and finally burned the innocents. It was only after he squandered all his money (and turned to Satan worship to regain his wealth) that the church stepped in to stop the madness. In 1440 Gilles was hanged, beheaded and tossed into a raging pyre but never excommunicated. His body was interned in a church in accordance with his Christian wishes.

Pogo the Clown loved all children and in turn all children loved Pogo the Clown. John Wayne Gacy also loved children but it was the toughest love of all. Gacy was first charged and convicted of rape in Iowa when he was a manager of several Kentucky Fried Chicken franchises. He would show his young male employees stag films, get them drunk and match them in a game of pool-the winner recieving oral sex. Convicted and sentenced to a 10-year-prison term, Gacy joined the prison Jaycee chapter and built a miniature golf course for the inmates. He was released in 18 months.Out on the streets, he moved to Chicago and began molesting again in earnest. Young hustlers, hitchhikers and co-workers soon fell prey to the Evil Clown, only this time the performances ended in death. In all, 29 very unlucky victims were found decaying in Gacy's crawlspace, some with dildos and other objects lodged in their rotting flesh. Gacy loved to use handcuffs and a makeshift, plywood pillory board to subdue his subjects and prep them for rapping. After his final conviction, Gacy still maintained that the murders were perpetrated by his mysterious alter ego, Jack Hanley, a hard-boiled, two-fisted, private detective who hated sissies like nobody's business

Mudgett actually praticed legitimate medicine--for about a week-untill he discovered he could make more money selling snake oil. In 1887 he moved to Chicago and got a job running a pharmacy. After killing the widowed owner he took over the business and purshased land across the street. There he employed many immigrant laborers to build a woman's boarding house resembling a stunning castle. Since few of the workers spoke English and none of the crews knew the overall plans' they did not know they were building a killing machine. The second floor was a maze of one hundred windowless rooms; hallways lead to stairwells that lead to nowhere. For ease of use, hidden chutes and trap doors delivered victims directly to the basement torture room and mortuary.

A meek diminutive daydreamer, this wayward Walter Mitty's atrocities defied even the German's imagination. The story was immortalized (if somewhat sanitized) by Fritz lang in his movie M staring Peter Lorre as the mincing murderer.

Albert Fish liked to give as much as he like to receive. And what he liked to receive most was pain. In his ramshackled house on the outskirts of town, Fish invited neighbor children to disipline him with a paddle studded with 2" penny nails. He burned himself with red-hot pokers on the chest and arms. He would insert long sewing needles into his penis and groin (29 in all) and still not be satisfied. After strangling a 10-year old Grace Budd, this maniacal masochist dismembered the corpse and turned the remains into a hardy stew complete with carrots and pearl onions. He savored the human bouillabaisse for nine days in a constant state of sexual excitement. For this and other equally grizzly crimes, he was sentenced to execution in 1935 and a year later he strapped himself into Sing Sing's eletric chair. "It will be an extreme thrill," he beamed, "the only one I haven't tried!"

After Prohibition ended, hard drinking Joe Ball bought a seedy roadside tavern on Highway 181 outside Elmendorf, Texas. The cheif entertainment at the bar was when Ball would throw live kittens and puppies to alligators he kept outback in his cement pond. When waitresses began "quitting" in the middle of the night the local sheriffs department decided to investigate. Free beer and whiskey notwithstanding, they charged Ball with murder and throwing the dismembered bodies to his pets. Before the police could place him in custody Ball pulled a revolver and shot himself in the chest saving the taxpayers of Texas hundreds of dollars.
NAME: William Heirens
AKA: The Lipstick Killer

At age 16, William Heirens was already attending the University of Chicago and burglarizing people's homes. often he would not steal a thing, opting instead to shyly masturbate in the dark corner while his hosts quietly slept. In 1945 Josephine Alice Ross was stabbed to death after she suprised her would-be intruder. Francis Brown was stabbed and shot later that year, the killer scrawling, " For heaven's sake catch me before I kill more, I cannot control myself!" in bright red lipstick on the dead man's wall. Heirens was 17 years old when he was finally arrested and 32 years later he became the first Illinois state prisoner to be awared a college degree.

A rather mediocre murderer but outstanding freak-of-nature, Gein served as the inspiration for Hitchcock's Psycho and the character "Buffalo Bill" in Silence of the Lambs. Gein was reared by an abusive, alcoholic mother who taught him that sex was evil and in Gein's case, she was right. After she died Gein is said to have masturbated over her corpse. He then took to grave robbing and dismembering the cadavers in order to make fine fashions and household items. Nipple belts, skull serving bowls and (the ever popular) skin lampshade were just a few examples of his workmanship. When he was feeling randy, Gein would dress up in a leggings/vest/genitalia ensemble that authorities believe came from as many as 15 diffeeerent bodies. One endeavor in which he did not excel was house cleaning. Human remains and rotting garbage cluttered every corner of the dismal tumble-down shack. When police finally caught up with Gein they found among the clutter, two fresh vaginas, a human heart in a sauce pan on the stove and the decapitated body of Bernice Worden, disemboweled and hung-up like a five-point buck.
NAME: Albert DeSalvo
AKA: The Boston Strangler

A true handyman in every sense of the word, DeSalvo boasted he could ejaculate five or six times a day but his impersonal, frigid wife would have none of it. Instead he took to the streets of mid-'60s Boston and the sexual treasures they held. DeSalvo could easily talk his way into the homes of unsuspecting females and have his wicked way with them. After strangling and raping them, he posed their still warm bodies in lurid positions with scarves and eletrical cords tied in fanciful bows. DeSalvo was arrested for rape (not pertaining to The Strangler case) and while in prison allegedly confessed his murders to cell mate George Nassar, the man who many believe to be the real Strangler. In 1973 DeSalvo was stabbed to death in the hospital wing of a Massachusetts maximim security prison.
NAME: Ted Bundy

Charm, good looks and an easy grace were the trademarks of this highly polished serial killer. Bundy considered himself a professional and took the greatest pride in his work. he didn't resort to any midnight abductions but instead chose guile and chicanery as his method of kidnapping (Bundy would wear his arm in a sling to appear vulnerable). Two of his most famous victims were Janice Ott and Denise Naslund both snatched from the same crowded Seattle beach on the same day. Bundy trekked from the Pacific Northwest to Utah to Illinois to Michigan to Georgia; escaping from custody twice and killing more than once. Luckily Florida, his last stop, still kept the quaint custom of the death penalty. Monday, January 23, 1989 at 7:06 a.m., a local radio station announced that Bundy's execution had come to fruition with the sound of bacon sizzling in the pan for effect.
NAME: Jeffrey Dahmer
AKA: The Milwaukee Muncher

As a child, young Jeffery liked to kill small, defenseless animals. As an adult, he could be charged with such offenses, so why not take it to the next level? He did, luring men to his apartment, bludgeoning them to death and eating their remains. When Dahmer wasn't hungry, he would rape and strangle and then have sex with the dead bodies but was always conscientious to wear a condom. The police found one young Asian man running naked and bleeding from the rectum with a half-clad Dahmer in close pursuit. When stopped he explained to the officers that it was a simple domestic dispute. The officers smiled, winked knowingly and sent the young lovers on their merry way. When the Milwaukee police finally did capture Dahmer they found three bodies dissolving in 55 gallon barrels of acid in the bedroom, four severed heads, seven skulls, a penis in a lobster pot and a refrigerator stocked only with condiments. Dahmer was assaulted in maximum security and left for dead with a mop handle lodged in his left eye socket.
NAME: Pedro Alonso Lopez

Killing sparked something in the lad, for on his release he murdered over a 100 girls in Peru alone. In a good week, he estimated an average of about three girls every seven days.

Lucas, a one-eyed Texas drifter who loved killing anything in his path teamed up with transvestite cannibal Toole for a road trip beyond description. It was a match made in heaven, so to speak. Lucas loved to kill and Toole loved to eat-Lucas used the mutilated corpeses as sex objects while Toole used them as protein. But sometimes, when they had no time, they would simply run their victims over using a dilapidated old pick-up.
NAME: Bobby Joe Long
AKA: Cousin of a Serial Killer

A distant cousin of Henry Lee lucas, Long had the same penchant for violence and mayhem as his more famous relation. Long's genetic make-up gave him an extra "X" chromosome, and increased estrogen output, and large, pendulous breasts. To make matters worse, his mother slept with him untill he was 13 years of age. After suffering brain damage in a motorcycle accident Long began masturbating up to six times a day as well as raping his wife at least twice a day. From 1980 to 1983 he raped over 50 women in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area and began killing prostitutes shortly thereafter.
NAME: Richard Ramirez
AKA: The Night Stalker

While most serial killers form a pattern or "M.O.," Ramirez did not-he was an equal opportunity killer. His first victim was 79-year-old Jennie Vincow, who he raped and nearly decapitttated. Other victims ranged in age from 30 to 83 and were all creeds and sexes. Ramirez would brake in, kill and rape the unfortunate occupants and stick around to drink their liquor and smoke a big fattie. In court he was prone to Satanic outbursts and speaking in tongues necessitating leg irons and shackles. To this day he remains on death row but as of September of 1996 he was engaged to be wed.

Between 1976 and 1977, the streets of New York were a particularly dangerous place. This was due partly because a 6,000-year-old spirit invaded the body of David Berkowitz's neighbor's Labrador Retriever-commanding the young psychopath to kill. And kill he did. He also bragged about it sending numerous letters to the police and New York post columnist Jimmy Breslin.
