Who is
SynArtist?
Where did I come
up with SynArts?
Have I done any
professional work?
Well, I guess I
can tell you who I am.
My name is
Chris Lambright and I come from Mansfield Ohio which
I have lived all my life so far! I have been an
artist all my life and have been doing a lot of my
artwork on the computer since about 1986 when I
bought a Commodore 64 and used it along with an art
program and tablet which I have forgotten the name
of, but I created my first piece of computer artwork
with and then photographed the video screen, I still
have it framed and hanging in my room. After my C64 I
bought an Amiga 1000 which landed me a job selling
Amiga products in Columbus at a store that has since
gone out of business. I decided to buy my first PC a
year or two later which was a Laser 286 I believe
when I signed for classes at North Central Technical
College in Microcomputer communications. I am at a
Pentium 90 so far and constantly upgrading my system.
My next system will be at least a Pentium Pro 200.
There wasn't much in the way of graphics software at
the time of my first PC but I knew there would be
eventually and now there is and I am in seventh
heaven with all there is to use now days!
Where did I come
up with SynArts you ask?
I came up with
this recently when I was trying to come up with a
unique title for my web page and I hope I am not
stepping on anyone else's toes by using this
combination of words, please let me know if I am! I
have combined Synthesis
and Artist
since I do create much of my artwork on a computer
much in the way a musician can create music on a
synthesizer, he or she is creating music
synthetically using an analog or digital sound
processors and I create pictures using digital
processors. And I have been a fan of synthesized
music since the early 70's when I first heard
Switched on Bach by Walter Carlos and Snowflakes are
Dancing by Isao Tomita, I have been listening to
synthesized alternative types of music ever since and
I rely on it while creating my artwork!
Have I done any
professional work?
I have done
very little so far, but I am working on expanding my
horizons.
I had some of
my art displayed in New Hampshire around April 1995
in the "Out Of The Internet: Computer Generated
Art and Imaging from Around the Nation." exhibit
which was held at the Sharon Arts Center.
I have done CD
cover, insert, for a local rock band by the name of
RIPP, title "Like it or Not" in 1994-1995.
I did work for
a local photography studio (Prism Studios) part time
doing digital photo retouching in 1994 -1995. It was
a good experience but they have moved their Pixel
Magic system to Florida.
