Just wanted to inform you of a book series titled "In Our Own Words: A Generation Defining Itself". Volume 2 has just been released, bringing to 340 the number of "voices" included, from 37 different countries, all born from 1961 to 1982. This series is a platform from which this generation is describing its realities: its experience, observations, speculations and perspectives, its hopes and aspirations, its fear and angst. In verse, poetry and lyrics. And most importantly, "in its own words".
Because this series is getting a very positive response, both from contributors (more than 12,000 submissons to date) and readers, there will be a Vol. 3. New submissions are being welcomed. Details are at http://www.starfishy.com/mwe/
This series is available through booksellers everywhere, including online booksellers such as amazon.com, bn.com, borders.com, chaptersglobe.com, bokia, com.
excerpt from Vol. 2
So many words - they'll be gone in awhile.
In an ever-changing show of masks
parading by us single-file
we try to find ourselves, and ask:
Which one is me, and what is mine?
Of words we get and words we steal
and make our own through passing time,
which ones are false and which are real?
There is no more, and falling rain
washes the words we write away
leaving us with the blotted stains
of what we have said and what we will say
and the never ending hopeless task
of finding the pieces of our own mask

so i have been reading your stuff. i am quite very impressed with some of it. i think a lot of your lines are super good, but some of it is very, very wordy. but anyway i like a lot of the stuff in the unnamed poem under your abstract section, esp. the
first stanza. and i have written something called is that all there is. i guess it is quite a common title. and i think mine is pretty different from yours. but anyway it is a big deal for me, wondering if that is all there is. etc. and there was so
ething, in tristesse, that i saw, about wanting to make other people love you, and wanting to make other people adore you and idolize you, so you could tear them down and tell them they're shit, b/c you're shit. which is something i see myself doing, or
rying to do all the time.
anyway. that is about all. i do not know how old this page is, or how often it is updated, so i do not know how often you look at this or anything.

I am quite amazed. Your writings truly convey the essence of an adolescent mind; confusion, hatred, love, anger, sadness...A total surge of emotions that empower the soul and send it on an endless sway...I admire your ability to string words together in
uch a powerful manner. I have to state that your poems "I wanted to want what I got", "mood swings", and "so what" so eerily expess sentiments I have felt that I could have written them myself. Your style is captivating...don't ever lose your love of th
written word....no matter how pointless you might think it is, there will always be someone out there to enjoy it.
Thanks for a great site!

speechless. how you can tear out your soul and leave it out there, naked and vulnerable, for anyone and everyone to see, breathe in, and experience, is beyond me. i admire your courage and honesty. you've gone above and beyond the stars.
