Party Triad

(I'm liking this second-line thing, think I'll keep it up. Today's subtitle: How to make out with two girlfriends at the same party)

"This was the last thing I wanted...to see him and her together making out, ewwww." -Me, yesterday
Random thoughts before I begin telling about the party:
* Ran into Jensen when I was taking out the trash, and he's all friendly-ish, how ya doing, etc. Every time he does that I always think "what, like you care now?" Why do I even mention him in here on the rare occasions that I do run into him? I don't even care anymore myself. Geez, ex-crush behavior.

* Demma is coming over today, which, while I would like to see her, I wish she'd wanted to come over on some other day. I have a paper to write tonight (okay, two pages, but still, it's weird and dull), and this'll take up all my time until I can force her to leave- and that's mean to do. Especially since she has to do a homework assignment observing someone who lives out of town (for drama- huh?). And of course, I'm wondering if Remington'll want to come over once Zoe leaves town, and if I'm doing the paper that'll have to be delayed. Waaaah.

And when do I get to finish this?

Okay, gripefest over, on to the party:
Called Sarah @ 9:30 to wake her up, she said she'd go to the party on her own, but she never showed up. Oh well. I had my doubts she'd be able to find it on her own anyway. Wonder where she went?

Well, Portfolio Day, while I won't get into it too much, was not sucky like I expected. About halfway useful and interesting, plus it ended early =) A pretty much silent drive over with people off the channel to his house in the pouring rain (ah, raining on a party. Figures somehow). Came in to find that the place was actually cleaned up and nice-looking- all the books on shelves, some tables, goofy signs (by Zoe) saying not to look in the cabinets or "THEY"'ll get you (and other goofy stuff like that), food out, even a TV so the Tekken-heads could leave the house without leaving their game behind. Neither of 'em were anywhere to be seen at first, I just stood around awkwardly wondering what I was supposed to do. He came into the room we were in, and I remember thinking, "hey, I should go over to him, huh?", so I did that, he hugged me, kissed a little, I got a drink and wandered into the other room where the rest of 'em were. Zoe and Oliver and Melissa were on the couch, Jack (another friend of his, only one there I didn't know before) and his pit bull (a NICE one, I'll have you know) Jasper were running around, Bill and Marianne were off bonding with the Nintendo. I sat down by the fireplace and observed things (my usual behavior at parties is to suss out the scene), including when Remington came back in and sat on the floor by her. Hmm. I wasn't bothered, really, but felt funny sitting over here and not doing anything. Well, a bit later Melissa went off and Remington had me go on the couch too, so we had him in the middle. That worked.

About five-ten minutes after our arrival, the power went out, and we sat around in the dark for an hour or so waiting for it to get fixed, and playing some odd game called "Albatross." Basically it was solving puzzles like this one you've probably heard: "Romeo and Juliet are lying dead on the floor. Next to them is a puddle of water. What happened?" Then you ask questions that can be answered with yes or no, such as "are Romeo and Juliet human?" (no). Eventually you find out that they're fish, and there's broken glass lying around as well... stuff like that. During this we got Remington on the middle of the couch, arms around the both of us. What a photo op, if only it hadn't been dark.

Basically this is how our behavior went during the night: either we both were cuddling around with him, or one of us was, but not getting up to too much trouble (i.e. not repeating New Year's).

A fair thing, but I did miss having the ability to get up to trouble that I could do when I had him to myself...I kept saying to myself, "only two more days, only two more days, keep cool till then, it isn't fair." Sometimes I got him to myself, sometimes she did... and yes, I have now seen them kiss. Well, they didn't do much kissing either, I wasn't bothered. Another surprise...

After dinner, Zoe went on IRC (he's got Internet up there now, surprise...) and I hung around and we were making up silly lines about what was going on at the party (wild orgies). Occasionally Remington came by to say something like "no, I don't have Astroglide in my Pez dispensers!", or someone else would say something. It got passed around a bit.

More people off the channel, Zach and his girlfriend (the people I met in Woodland with the furby) showed up, with the Furby, and many of us, yes, me too, fawned all over it. Jack and Oliver got stoned and started reading the Bible (don't ask), Zoe hung around with them. Remington and Melissa and I started playing darts. When it was Melissa's turn, Remington and I would get all huggy, aww. I missed that. Though I sort of felt like I was sneaking around somehow with Zoe in the room (albeit not noticing). Then again, that's probably what they were doing in the kitchen when she was making the burgers, so I guess it all evens out.

I got all disturbed when my original ride decided to go home- like at 8 pm!- and I didn't want to leave early (I hate leaving a good party early). Every time I mentioned leaving that night, he'd get all whiny about it- "Awww, you're leaving? Do you have to?", etc. Well, I also didn't want to spend the night, although I knew the stoned people were going to do it...not with them in the house doing, well, no comment, it would be too weird, I think. Besides, I felt like I'd be horning in on her time. I tried to say this (albeit not very well) to Remington, that I hadn't really thought about this problem, and he said "talk to Zoe." However, I found out that I could get a ride with Marianne, etc., so I passed up ride #1.

By the time ride #2 decided to leave (pretty soon after ride #1, IMO), I started feeling all confused and peeved. I told Zoe I didn't know what to do, she just, well, stared at me. Well, geez, I didn't want to sleep over, but leaving a party at 8:30? Ew. Didn't want to discuss that in public either... Melissa then said that there was one more train leaving later- indicating Zach and his girlfriend (Debbi? I keep thinking of her IRC name)- so I passed up ride #2. At which point, Zoe said she was happy I could stay longer.

Oliver and Remington and Zoe and I were playing a board game when ride #3 decided to leave around ten. This time I hopped right up and left. Although Remington going "Awww" every time I mentioned leaving was not helping...I just grabbed my stuff and followed them out the door, not saying goodbye, 'cause being left would not be pleasant...Zoe (I think) made him get up and go say goodbye- he kissed me, then she yelled, "Hey, you can kiss her after, first I want to say goodbye!" "Oh, I get to kiss her twice?" So I hugged her, kissed him, left, and listened to the Furby alternately say "Whee!" "Cock-a-doodle-doo!", and "I'm scared!" as Zach swerved around corners.

I got home at eleven, passed out in bed, and around twelve-thirty the freshmen had decided to throw a party...loud party...man, I am never going to catch up on my sleep around here.

Update: 9 p.m. Well, Demma came over and we bought a lot of stuff at the mall. I'm pretty broke.

Am feeling pissed at Remington because I have a paper due tomorrow, and no MS Word to do it on. Had to use the computer lab. Grrr, I want him back here to see if he's got Word so I can reinstall it. And I just miss him too. Even though tonight is probably not the best time to see him, 'cause I do need to do work. Not that I'm doing it, though, since I'm on IRC.

Had to call Mom, ugh. Weird. First, she starts spouting depressing things at me regarding Remington (I won't get into it, other than the whole thing really reminded me of tonight's That 70's Show), and apparently she's going around telling everyone around her that I have a boyfriend now. At least that's the last thing she tells them when they ask about me, says that classes are good first. And apparently that's the big news to everyone, the boyfriend bit. That's all my obnoxious aunt and uncle ask about, nothing else. I finally get a boyfriend, and they're still not happy about it. I told her about the weekend, in brief, and she was VERY quiet. Said "Never tell anyone about this", meaning Dad and the relatives. Well, duh.

I'm going to finish this and put it up, as I am feeling very dull alluva sudden, and doing nothing but waiting for Remington to get home and online. Geez, some days I am sad.
