THROUGH THEIR EYES

We seldom see ourselves as others do.
God gave us each two eyes,
The color and shape as individual
As the face they are planted in;
As unique as the personality and
Thought processes behind them.

What we see when we look in the mirror
Is as different from what others see
In our faces as night is from day.
The image does not change.
The perception of that image does.

Through her eyes, he sees love flowing
Transforming his image immensely.
He grows taller, his chest expands
And his features transform

Through her eyes, his character
Goes through metamorphosis
Becoming softer, more compassionate
Tender and loving.

Through his eyes, his love for her flows.
She glows with the warmth of his gaze.
The pride she sees there increases
Her beauty a hundred fold.
She carries herself a little straighter
And basks in new found confidence.

Through their eyes, the world notices
The change from total individuals.
A couple emerges, individuals still,
But now a part of a whole.
Through their eyes, the world can see
New strength emanating from
Shared passions, caring and tenderness.

Through their eyes,
The world can view
The power of love.
