terry bozzio made an appearance on dutch television during "reiziger". 2001/04/08 - dutch nl3 tv. He did a short interview and played two tracks. * * *
and it looked like bozzio-week in holland. "4fm", hollands finest radio show, presented the first part of a concert (second part will be aired in september 2001) as well as an interview by co de kloet. * * *
I recently got hold of a copy of a jon poole cdr on which he plays early mothers muzik. I had read about a tape that he had done called "1994 mothers". This cdr, called "what's the ugliest part of your body?" has exactly the same tracks. so I'm assuming it's the same recordings in a different packge. It sounds great. Really great. Does anyone have the story behind this?

* sheik yerbouti: the big note

the latest release by german band "sheik yerbouti" is called "the big note". I couldn't have thought of a better title myself, :-) "the big note" is a private and very limited release. Totalling only 100 copies, it is subtitled "a bootleg document '94 - '97'", which isn't completely true as it is a private release by thomas "sheik yerbouti" jung. I'm assuming the 'bootleg'-part has to do with royalties and stuff like that.

The liner notes say "it will end this phase of the band and should make you aware that there's more to come in the future". The cdr kicks of with some pink floydish space guitar and carries on with a lot of zappa classics. Great stuff. If you want to get hold of this little dittie, you shouldn't wait too long. * various artists: walkman meltdown volume 3: more american music
(1992, k7, norway hypertonia world enterprises)
hypertonia world enterprises is a (small) norwegian home tape center. During the early nineties, hypertonia master mind jr bruun started with his "walkman meltdown" series, a k7-compilation that presented (in my ears) obscure artists / home-tapers. Not only does the third volume include tracks by don campau (see previous big nOte) and by eric braün (is this the canadian underground comic book artist?), it also has a version of zappa's 'ms pinky' by l'edarps a moth. I don't know if this track was recorded especially for this compilation or if it was originally on another release.
