![]() ![]() Voice of the Diabetic is read by those interested in all aspects of blindness and diabetes. It is an outreach publication emphasizing good diabetes control, diet, and independence. Each issue addresses current medicial and scientific news in the diabetes field, health and diet news, and discusses options for living with many of the complications of this disease. Because we want blind diabetics to continue to lead independent and healthy lives, Voice of the Diabetic also provides resources and information about special aids and items used by the blind to control their diabetes. Such products as talking glucomoters and insulin gages can permit someone who is blind to monitor his or her disease. This can help to maintain proper control and insure good health. The Voice of the Diabetic is a free quarterly publication available in print or on cassette tape from the Diabetes Action Network, a division of the National Federation of the Blind.
