My trip to Arizona
April 27th to May 6th, 2001

In the last two and a half years, I've taken five holidays: 3 weeks in Ireland in November 1998, one week to Boston in April 1999, one week to Ottawa and one week to North Bay in November 1999, two weeks in Newfoundland in April 2000, one week in Morocco in October 2000 and now one week in Arizona!!

Sedona from the Airport vortex Arizona was quite an adventure. It started out in Phoenix where my friend Dave met me in our rental car. I had never met or spoken to Dave before this, but we had been communicating via the internet (mIRC, ICQ and email) for almost three years.

We headed to Sedona on Saturday, and spent the day getting comfortable with each other and cruising the shops. On our way there, we stopped in at Montezuma National Monument for a look at the castle nestled in the rock.

My main focus that day, in Sedona, was shopping for the best price on a white sage smudge stick!! I found one at one of the shops in the Sinagua Center on the east side of the 'Y' - it was US$5.00, the average price around town, except for in the shops on the west side of the 'Y', which charged in the area of $US6.50 to $US9.00!!

We camped at Lo Lo Mai Springs Outdoor Resort for the next three nights. It's about a 15-minute car ride south-west of Sedona. I highly recommend this site to any campers. They have a heated pool and spa, washrooms, showers, and laundry facilities too!

On Sunday, we made our way to the Center for the New Age where I had my aura photo taken and explained. Dave had a Tarot card reading there as well. If you click on the link just above, you'll get a good idea of all the services they offer. They also have an extensive variety of crystals in all shapes and sizes, books, quartz chakra bowls, candles and incense. There isn't much room for parking, but it's worth the stop.

Montezuma's Castle Jamie, who took my aura photo, told me I am a hands-on healer because of the intense red in my aura that permeates the background. My healing knowledge comes from my past lives as a shaman. I have a yellow aura over my head that represents my intellect. It indicates the part of me that is always seeking new knowledge, and is an organiser and a good business person. It can also get in the way in the sense that I may give too much energy to my reason and may miss out on what my heart is telling me.

I have some green on my right side which indicates my connection with Mother Earth. A good meditation practice for me is to hang out in nature, in large fields, or dipping my feet in water. My heart area is lacking in colour, which seems to indicate that I'm in a healing mode where my heart is concerned. Some of you will nod in agreement to this next statement: apparently I give out a little bit from my heart to test the waters and check things out, and I don't let enough come back into my heart.

View from the Airport vortex in Sedona Jamie also told me that, when I'm able to let go of my ego (no, that's not a waffle joke...), my intuition will be limitless. In other words, I'll be able to intuit health problems (not diagnose, just intuit) and will know exactly where to direct energy if I'm doing Reiki for someone, or any other natural healing technique which I will learn in Montreal. I need to tell people the messages I get for them so that they can heal, or come closer to being healed. I naturally replenish my life-force, which explains the intense red aura on my left side. In my aura picture, you can also make out a denser area of yellow which Jamie interpreted as being one of my spirit guides.

According to Jamie, my guides have messages for me. If I'm interested in knowing what these messages are, I can have a channeler tell them to me. However, what's most important is that I know they're there to guide me, to protect me and to love me unconditionally.
