Katriona jumped down the steps of the bus and ran along the sidewalk, ignoring everything else around her. She had to get to Lucinda's.
When she had made it to the front steps, Katriona climbed up and banged on the door. "Lucinda!"
There was no answer.
She pounded louder. "Lucinda! Please! I need to talk to you!" She needed to tell someone about the feeling buzzing through her.
"What about?" came a soft voice from behind her, and Katriona spun around to find a slight woman standing behind her.
"Lucinda." she said, slightly embarrassed.
Lucinda nodded and pulled out her keys, unlocking her front door. "Come in and tell me all about it."
Katriona followed the older woman into her dark house. She followed her down a long hallway and into a large den.
Lucinda placed her bag onto a counter and disappeared into the kitchen.
Katriona collapsed onto the couch wearily. "You have said before that people have gifts. Right?"
Lucinda poked her head around the corner. "Yes. Coke? Coffee? Lemon juice?" she joked.
Katriona ignored her, and held her head in her hands. "I just might have that." she went on.
Lucinda grew serious and came around the corner and sat down. "I see."
Katriona looked up. The woman sitting across from her was thin. Her long blonde hair and bright blue eyes did not catagorise her as a spiritualist. But she was.
"Visions?" the woman asked, folding her hands in her lap.
"I've been having dreams." Katriona admitted.
"Ah. Dreams." Lucinda nodded. "How long?"
"For a while. 4 months."
Lucinda grew concerned. "That long? Are they blurry? Or clear?"
Katriona bit her lip. "They're the clearest I've seen yet."
Lucinda leaned over and grasped her hands. "Truly?"
The girl nodded.
"Do you see people's faces?"
Again, she nodded. "I think I know them."
Lucinda's grip grew tighter. "Are you sure?"
Katriona shook her head, growing scared. "I don't know... I-"
"Katriona! This may be of grave importance."
"I can't remember their faces from the dream, but when I saw a picture of them, I know them."
The woman's eyes grew intense. "Who are 'they'?"
Katriona gulped. "Hanson."
The other's face never changed. "You are sure?"
Katriona thought hard. She never felt more sure. "Yes."
Lucinda raised an eyebrow.
She nodded. "Yes, I am sure."
Lucinda let her hands go. "What is the dream of?"
Katriona didn't hesitate. "They're on a plane. They're buckled in and a hostess offers them something to eat... The dream varies from there. It's like I go from point of view to another. Then it all comes to one point."
Lucinda nodded. "You want to warn them."
The girl closed her eyes. "Yes. But I can't."
The woman cleared her throat, making Katriona open her eyes. "I believe this is a true vision. You are quite sensitive, Katriona."
Katriona stayed silent.
"I had thought you may have been sensitive, but not this sensitive." Lucinda sighed. "I should have taught you, but I can't change that now."
Katriona frowned. "Teach me what?"
Lucinda bit her lip absently. "How to tune in. I'll have to coach you.."
The other girl wrinkled her brow, getting panicky. "Coach? What? What do you want me to do?"
Lucinda chewed her lip. "What we need to know is when this vision happens."
Katriona protested. "How? We can't exactly call Hanson up and ask what flight and time they're taking, can we?"
Lucinda nodded, smiling secretly to herself. "There's a way."
