CHAPTER SIX

"Man, I'm knackered." Jessica said, plopping down onto the couch, grabbing my glass of Coke and taking a sip.

"Why? Grant?" I teased. Since last, she had dumped Skeet, calling him a dumb, macho, dirtbag (which was what I had tried to tell her all along). Now she went out with Grant, a dirtbag of another kind.

Jess grinned. "No. Houton made me practice that damn song over and over again!"

"Well, I don't want to hear it. You told me to shut up when I complained, so Jess?"

"What?"

"Shut up!" I stuck my tongue out, and a pillow whacked my face. I looked down at the pink cushion in my lap, and laughed at the wet tongue stain on it.

"I know something you don't know." Jamie ran into the room.

"From the way you're acting, I'll take it we'll find out soon enough." I predicted.

"Nope!" Jamie ran back out again.

Jessica stared after her sister. "That has got to be the first time she has kept a secret."

"Yeah." I shrugged. "Hey, has Houton talked to you?"

"Well, duh!" Jessica rolled her eyes. "Of course he has." she put on a haughty look. "'Sounds too flat!' 'You came in too slow!' 'Do it again! Perfection is the key, Jessica Browning!'"

I laughed. "No, I mean talk to you with a heap of other stuck up, pompous look alikes."

"Hmm. No. Why?" Jessie asked curiously, taking another sip of Coke.

"Well..." I thought about telling Jess. Ah, why not? "He said I should change my image, whatever the hell that means."

Jessica laughed. She began to laugh so hard, she snorted her Coke up her nostrils.

"Ow! Hehehe! My nose! Owie!" she giggled, wiping Coke off her face.

I made a face. Packing up my school work, I got up from the recliner, and calmly informed Jessica that "The cat peed in the Coke. That's why I let you drink it." and walked out.

Jessica laughed harder. When she finally calmed down, she stared at the glass of Coke, and thought...

I headed up the stairs, and grinned widely when I heard the hysterical "EWWWWWWWWW!!!" and Jamie stared at me from the bedroom phone extension, reciever slack in her grasp.

"Jessie drank Coke, and I told her the cat peed in it. She thought I was for real." I chuckled at Jamie's incredulous expression. "If it was true, then all the Coke we drink has cat piss in it."

Jamie laughed.

I grinned, and pulled a small bottle of Coke from my backpack, and settled down to finish my work...
