"Then I have one more question to ask you. Will you be my girlfriend?"
Zac looked at me and smiled. "Yeah, I guess so." "You guess so? You
don't want to?" Zac looked at me worriedly. I shook my head. "No, I
didn't mean for it to sound like that. I'll be your girlfriend. But don't
tell Simone, I wanna tell her." "Good, you'll be my girlfriend. Don't
worry, I won't tell Simone. Do you want me to tell the fans about you? I
don't want you being mobbed or attacked or having hitmen sent after
you." "I guees you can tell them. If you don't want to I understand, but
I don't care if you want to tell them," I said understandingly. "That's
why I love you. You're so understanding." He smiled and kissed my
forehead. I felt a blush creeping up my neck. "I should be going. If
someone we know sees me here my mom will ground me for life." "Alright.
Well, I'll see you soon." He reached out for my hand. I held it out to
him and he squeezed it gently. "Bye," I said softly. I turned to leave.
He reached out for my hand and pulled me back. "Bye." His lips
brushed softly against mine. ::That night:: Zac laid down on
his bed and sighed contentedly. "My life is perfect," he thought
happily. He looked over at the picture of him and Aura that was pinned
above his head and smiled. Taylor walked into the bedroom. "Ok Zac, if
I see you with that ridiculous smile on your face one more time I will kill
you. What is up with you? You've had that look on your face ever since
Aura left this morning." Zac studied Taylor's face for a moment. "Tay,"
he said slowly. "Can you keep a secret?" "Yeah. What is it?" "Aura
and me... me and Aura..." "You and Aura what?" The suspense was killing
Taylor. "We're..." "You're what? Tell me before I kill you," Taylor
threatned. "If you kill me you'll never know," Zac taunted. "Ugghh,
tell me already," Taylor yelled in frustration. "Alright, alright.
Settle down. Me and Aura are going out." Zac beamed proudly at
him. "You and Aura? Wow. Well, congratulations little bro you finally
asked her out." Taylor patted him on the back proudly. "So you finally
figured out that she likes you too? "Yeah, I did. She didn't tell me
though. I kissed her and she kissed me back, but she swore she didn't.
Then I kissed her again and she didn't kiss me back." Zac smiled as he
remembered the first kiss that they shared. "So, what happened?" Taylor
was getting into the story of his little brothers love life. "She went to
leave and before she walked out she turned around and kissed me." "I
need to get a girlfriend," Taylor mumbled. "What?" Zac strained to
hear what Taylor mumbled. "Nothing." I stared out the
window, watching the rain pour down. "Why did dad have to leave?" I
thought bitterly. My bedroom door opened and my mom stepped in.
"Aura, I need you to come and do the dishes." "Why can't you do them
yourself?" I snapped. "Aura don't use that tone with me," she warned.
"I know you're hurting because your father left, but that won't bring him
back." "So, as long as it makes me feel better, I'm fine with it," I
spat. I rolled my eyes and resumed staring out the window. "Aura, this
isn't easy for me either-" "Sure seems like it," I muttered. "Aura,
I'm only trying to make you happy," she said softly. "You know what
would make me happy?" "No, but I suppose you're going to tell me." She
looked at me inquiringly. "If you would let me off grounding so I could
see Zac." I turned to look at her. "I'm not letting you off grounding
Aura. You only have two more days left, you can go two days without seeing
Zac can't you?" "I suppose," I muttered. Mom shook her head sadly and
left the room. I sprung off my chair and into the bathroom. I stepped
gingerly onto the scale. I watched as the needle soared up and stopped; 10
pounds lighter than a week ago. I was elated. "This is just the
beginning," I thought. "I'm going to lose ten more pounds by next week,
and then ten more..."
