may 23, 1967 - phil selway (drummer) was born in hemingford grey, cambridgeshire.
april 15, 1968 - ed o'brien (guitarist) was born in oxford.
october 7, 1968 - thom yorke (singer, guitarist) was born in
wellingborough, northamptonshire. june 26, 1969 - colin greenwood (bassist) was born in oxford.

1970's

november 5, 1971 - jonny greenwood (guitarist, keyboards) was born in oxford.

1980's

throughout the eighties, thom played in many a band. thom and colin were in a band called TNT and then they decided to form their own band. next came ed and phil and after much pleading, little brother jonny. they were first called On a Friday, and they played mostly on holidays and vacations.

1990's

1991
july 22, 1991 - played first post-graduation gig at the Hollybrush in oxford.
mid 1991 - recorded demo tape, ''manic hedgehog''
august 1991 - played gig at oxford's jericho tavern. read the first-ever interview from curfew about this gig here.
november 1991 - played another gig at the jericho. this time with 25 reps from record labels present.
december 21, 1991 - signed to parlophone.

1992
changed name to radiohead.
april 28, 1992 - Drill tour begins supporting catherine wheel, machine gun feedback, and sultans of ping.
may 1992 - debut single, Drill, released.
august 29, 1992 - Creep tour begins supporting the frank and walters.
september 1992 - second single, Creep, released.
october 21, 1992 - creep autumn tour begins supporting Kingmaker.

1993
ebruary 13, 1993 - third single, anyone can play guitar, is released. UK tour is launched.
february 22, 1993 - pablo honey tour begins.
march 6, 1993 - debut album, Pablo Honey, is released. it reaches number 25 in UK charts and will eventually go gold.
april 26, 1993 - Pop is Dead tour begins.
may 22, 1993 - Pop is Dead single peaks at number 42
may 29, 1993 - bolstered by live dates and heavy MTV airtime, the debut album distributed by Capitol goes straight into the US charts at # 184.
june 22, 1993- US and Canadian tour begins.
august 7, 1993 - pablo honey goes to number 32 in the US. it eventually sells 2 million copies around the world.
august 25, 1993 - radiohead cancels appearance to the reading festival due to thom's sore throat.
september 4, 1993 - Creep hits number 34 in hot 100.
september 17, 1993 - radiohead begins US tour supporting Belly.
september 18, 1993 - parlophone reissues Creep in the UK due to success in other countries.
october 26, 1993 - canadian tour (vancouver, calgary, montreal, toronto) begins.
november 11, 1993 - European tour begins supporting James.

1994
january 1994 - band convert fruit farm in oxfordshire countryside to rehearse songs for new album.
february 1994 - begin recording new lp with veteran producer john leckie at rak studios.
may 27, 1994 - show at London's Astoria is filmed by MTV and later released on home video.
may and june 1994 - World Tour begins (spain, italy, switzerland, germany, UK, japan, hong kong, australia)
june 26, 1994 - radiohead play at the closing day of the glastonbury festival.
august 27, 1994 - play an emotional set at the reading festival.
october 8, 1994 - My Iron Lung single charts at number 24 in UK.
october 19, 1994 - Mexican tour begins.
november 1994 - work completed on second album at abbey road.
november 2, 1994 - thom and jonny perform acoustic set in New York City

1995
february 1995 - band starts tour of UK including homecoming show at Oxford Apollo with the candyskins and supergrass.
march 9, 1995 - the Bends tour begins
march 11, 1995 - high and dry single released, reaching number 17 in the UK
march 25, 1995 - The Bends album is released, hitting number 6 in the UK. "the album that everyone knew the band was capable of"
june 3, 1995 - Fake Plastic Trees single is released, peaking at number 20 in the UK.
june 24, 1995 - the bends begins it ascent of US charts.
july 29 - 30, 1995 - radiohead joins R.E.M. and play two dates at milton keynes bowl with blur and the cranberries.
august 1995 - radiohead supports R.E.M. ending up in tel aviv on august 8.
september 2, 1995 - Just single is released.
september 8, 1995 - american leg of R.E.M. tour begins at Miami Arena, with total gate receipts of $487.477.
september 1995 - GO Discs! release the Help! album, profits will aid Bosnian charity warchild. radiohead contribute Lucky.
november 1995 - band back stateside supporting Soul Asylum.

1996
february 19, 1996 - thom and brain eno collected the freddie mercury award for Help!
february 1996 - radiohead announce thay they'll support Rock the Vote.
august 1996 - band begins 13 date US tour with Alanis Morissette. they also spend time on the romeo and juliet soundtrack.

1997
may 21, 1997 - the third album, OK COMPUTER, is released in Japan.
may 22, 1997 - the band premier OK COMPUTER in barcelona, spain.
may 26, 1997 - Paranoid Android, the first single, is released in the UK.
june 7, 1997 - radiohead performs at the Tibetan Freedom Concert in Randall's Island, NY.
june 16, 1997- OK COMPUTER is released in the UK.
june 17, 1997 - OK COMPUTER is released in Canada.
june 22, 1997 - radiohead perform in Dublin with Massive Attack.
july 1, 1997 - OK COMPUTER is released in the US
july 5-6, 1997 - tourhout/werchter festival.
july 25, 1997 - radiohead perform Electioneering on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. this also marks the beginning of the US tour.
july 28-29, 1997 - thom and DJ Shadow record a song "rabbit in your headlights" for James Lavelle's U.N.K.L.E. project in San Francisco.
august 12, 1997 - Karma Police is released in the UK
august 29, 1997 - radiohead perform Karma Police on the Late Show with David Letterman. this ends the US tour.
december 19, 1997 - radiohead performs a concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC for MTV's Live at the 10 Spot.

1998
january 1998 - radiohead are off to tour japan.
january 12, 1998 - No Surprises in released.
april 7, 1998 - airbag single is released
june 1998 - band is taking summer off to rest before they start recording new album in fall
july 1998 - ed is the only radiohead to brave the Glastonbury 98 festival
