• On Thursday July 29th, at 6:25pm, in New York City, David's wife Jennifer gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Stella Rose Gahan. Obviously, Dave is very happy, and very proud. [Info taken from the official Depeche Mode page]

• According some DM Inernet sources there will be a new tribute very soon. Place of CD origin is Brasil. The CD will be titled "Industrial Songs Of Devotion - A Tribute To Depeche Mode". Tracklist:

• VH1 is currently producing a segment on Depeche Mode for their program "Where Are They Now?". August 24th (10/9 pm) is the tentative airdate.

• There are some info about polish tribute to DM (Album was released 28.08.99). It's titled Master Of Celebration - Polish Artists Present Depeche Mode's Songs and contains 17 tracks of alternative polish artists:

• There are some rumours that Martin is due to start writing new songs when he returns from his skiing holiday. There will be NO live shows in 1999. However, a new single may be ready by the end of the year, and a new album and tour should be ready by 2000.

Depeche Mode will probably start recording their new material this September-October in Milan, at Logic Studios - a place where they've been working on 'Violator'.

• This month will be released a new tribute entitled Enter The Mix. This is a "non-stop techno tribute to Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk", there are 10 tracks, 5 of them - DM songs. Album style is the same to Trancemode Express.

• News from AND ONE:

  - Seems to be true - band take 4 member. It's girl Annelie, she will be play second keyboard, sing and dance.

  - On August 7th band will perform at Eurorock-Festival â Neerpelt, Belgium.

  - New album "Virgin Superstar" will be released on March 2000.

  - New single "Das Ich" is remixing now.

  - Virgin Superstar Tour will start in the middle of April 2000.

  - Joke is working on his solo-project "Fiasko Deluxe".

• News from Alan Wilder:

  On 29th June at 9.00pm on british TV CHANNEL4 was aired first programme of documentary series dealing with the world of forensic science. Great detail - music for series entitled SECRETS OF THE DEAD was written and produced by Alan! And more surprises - the visuals are supplied by the design company INTRO.

  New album will be released after New Year.

• Intro, the company used to design "The Singles 86>98" artwork, along with Mute Records, won two awards at the Music Week Creative & Design Awards. The two awards were for "Best Album Sleeve - The Singles 86>98", and for "Best Series of Sleeves - The Singles 86>98 Album Campaign". The team was also shortlisted for "Best Special Packaging" for the DM 'Singles 86-98' promo box. Congratulations to all involved!

• Depeche Mode had the honor of being named the "#1 KROQ band of all time" in the opinion of the listeners of the Los Angeles FM radio station.

• On 27th May Martin was presented with an award for "International Achievement", by the British Academy of Composers & Songwriters, at the 44th Ivor Novello Awards, at The Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane.

  Martin was presented with his award by Daniel Miller, whose speech commended Martin's work as Depeche Mode's songwriter, and the fact that for nearly 20 years the band have managed to connect, through their music, with people all over the world.

• New book about Depeche Mode was released at May 10th, 1999. The book is written by Steve Malins and titled "Depeche Mode: A Biography" (ISBN 0 233 99425 4). Steve's book is the most in-depth profile on the band so far and includes extensive interviews with Alan Wilder, Martin Gore, Andrew Fletcher, Daniel Miller, Flood, Tim Simenon, Stevo, Daryl Bamonte, Anton Corbijn, Gareth Jones and various musicians, including Afrika Bambaataa and Sparks. Steve Malins is contributing Editor at 'Q' and his previous books include a Paul Weller biography and Gary Numan's 'Praying To The Aliens' autobiography.

• Mute Records has decided to re-issue the 3 CD singles box sets from 1991. The re-release date of DMBX 1-3 is currently set for the 6th September and the box sets will be exactly the same as the original issues.

• By the way,this summer The Videos 86>98 and The Videos 81>85 were released on video CDs.
