Considered by many to be the high priests of "art-rock"; Yes, has in fact been one of the longest living acts of this genre, unlike Rush, Pink Floyd, or Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Yes has gone through several personnel changes over the years! For many, the definitive Yes lineup consists of Bill Bruford-a magnificent drummer who would later join King Crimson, Jon Anderson- the ethereal vocalist who could also play other instruments, Chris Squire- who is considered one of the best bass guitarists, Steve Howe- one of the preeminent classical and electric guitarists, and Rick Wakeman- another virtuoso keyboard player, not unlike Keith Emerson of Emerson, Lake and Palmer! Another "classic" Yes lineup consists of: Anderson, Squire, Howe, Wakeman and Alan White- another great drummer! However, Yes, has also consisted of Trevor Horn, Patrick Moraz, Geoff Downes, Trevor Rabin and Tony Kaye! Early Yes consisted of a guitarist named Peter Banks!
