Coalesce "Functioning on impatience" | By the time you read this.
Coalesce's new lp will be out then. This one on 2nd Nature beats all their stuff they have
ever put out. 6 songs of unmatched brutality & 1 "instrumental" song/sample
for you sick souls out there to daydream to. Unrelentless riffs of barbaric tunes behind
the grinding extreme sounds of the almost broken drumset, sets the mood for some killing.
Opening up with Coalesce distintive screaming; "what more do you want from me? Some
sort of apology?". From then all it's all nonstop madness until destruction. Added
with words like "a fetus or kink in sexual revolution & what am I? A threat, a
kink in political consistency. More name games more personal choice" to "if you
make decisions colour based & call that power then leave me behind & I won't say a
word. I'll just wait until you kill yourselfs over nothing but flesh one thing's sure to
die". What more do you want. |
Coalesce "give them rope" | Almost every metalhardcore band are now taking
these guys as their inspiration already. Coalesce's brand of chaotic madness, jazzy bass
and out of this world screaming fueled with intelligent lyrics of hate and more, does make
them the top of this genre. Throw away your mainstream metal crap, get the true brutal
grinding extreme underground stuff. (Edison PO Box 42586, Phila Pa 19101-2586) |
Converge "when forever comes crashing" | Bostons hardest band, Converge is back.
Promising to take you to new grounds. Without disappointment, they have once again made
noise so beautiful, your ears will bleed. I dont think anyone else can come up with
the riffs Converge has. Bringing you noise, then an emotional onslaught, then back to
noise again. 11 sad songs of emotional noise behind a tormented heart broken vocal. More
technical stuff being shown in this release. Even uses a drum machine for one song and
more stuff they try to experiment with. Listening to this is like being thrown off the
building and when you finally smash on the ground, you just stand up, dance and celebrate.
Has a demented picture on the cover and obscure artwork in it. (Equal Vision PO Box 14 Hudson, NY 12534) |
