The concert was killer. I have been to quite a few concerts in the past couple of years and none compare. The band, Train, opened for the show and they absolutely kicked tail. They got the crowd ready and waiting. When Collective Soul came on stage everyb dy in the whole theater stood and I didn't see a single person sit during the entire show. They opened the show with "Trembled for my Beloved" and about three songs later they covered Ozzy's "Crazy Train". I am a huge Ozzy fan and I can honestly say they erformed "Crazy Train" as good if not better than he could. I was in such awe the rest of the concert that I really connot remember too much more about it other than it kicked and CS sounded great. If they ever are in this area again I will be sure to see them. Also, before going to see Collective Soul I was a fan but not as big as I am now. I now own all four cds and am anxious to see and hear what they will be doing next. |

Good show. First Time I had ever seen them. Played for 1 hour - and I mean 1 hour only (very strict at Pine Knob about the noise factor)Played Shine as encore and rocked it out. I missed at least four songs up front due to being late. I tell you what t ough, didn't expect much out of Cranberries, but they jammed as well, overall a great concert - one of the best.... |

I want to say first that collective soul is my favorite group. When i saw them last saturday, there was something wrong. From the start Ed seemed to be irritated. His electronic box fell off his belt, and he started screaming at the equipment man as thoug it was his fault. The guy worked frantically and re-attatched to Ed's belt. After that song Ed went to the side of the stage and continued to holler at that poor guy. Putting all that aside, the whole group seem to be plastic in their performance. this is my second time seeing them this tour (Dosage). I consider myself to be a huge fan of collective soul, I felt let down after seeing them in my home town (New Orleans) They played two songs off of Dosage, Trembled and heavy. Seeing this was the Dosage tour, I would like to have seen a few more cuts from that CD. One more thing that bothered me was after every groups performance from that day, they would go to the autograph tent to greet their fans and sign things. Well after the collective soul set, security told us that collective soul was not comming to the ten . Disapointed I went home with my four cd covers in my pocket un-signed. If collective soul should come back to New Orleans, I would see them again. |

Well, I got to the concert an hour and a half early and signed a card that Will Smith would later receive. My friend and I saw the bands' buses near the loading dock, so we wandered our way on over. At that point, we just kinda waited around and made conv 's with staff and bouncers and stuff, and lo and behold, both, The Verve Pipe and Collective Soul appear!!!! I was totally in awe. My friend and I were the only fans there, so here comes the band and they stop and sign autographs for us, shake our hand, a d then like, talk, to us!!!! It was absolutely cool, they were so nice!!! Anyway, the concert was awesome. It was the Closer of the Dosage tour, and they couldn't have performed better!@!!!! I've never heard anything so good in concert before!!!! I'm talking, wow!!!!! I was sitting in the 3rd Row, and started so much stuff duri g the concert, I'm soo happy! Everybody should've been there! I give it a 20 on a scale of 10! |

I am still awe strickin by the best experience I have had in my life!!!! I just couldn't help but sing (or scream) every lyric with CS's old songs and new songs. My heart sank when he had the crowd sing "Shine" and I had tears running down my face. Ed was so friendly, so personal, so normal. "Pound" opened for them and I could tell they were trying to imitate CS. ha! fat chance! They were okay I suppose, but I could feel the anticipation grow in the audience and when the poster fell down I've chee ed like I never have before. After this concert, I felt emotionally drained (but in a good way) I went home with a smile on my face and a wonderful feeling of happiness. I would say my life was complete, but I am looking forward to every other CS conce t there is. And trust me, they will be around for a very very long time! |

Well, it seems that no one has yet reviewed the show here in Denver. It was GREAT. They filmed it - (does anyone know for what?) so they moved us from our 6th row left seats to 6th row center right in front of Ed!!! All the guys seemed in a great mood an were fired up about headlining to a sold out crowd. There were some surprises in the set - Wasting Time (Ed described how he quit the band and moved to HI for a girl, it didn't work out, so he wrote a song), Dandy Life and closed with Good night, Good gu . Ed said that they hadn't planned on doing this one (but the crowd was going crazy). After the show, we waited out back for about an hour and a half. It was quite cold. Will came out and signed autographs and I got my picture with him. Ross came out and aid hi, he'd be right back, but he jumped on the bus and we didn't see him again. We saw Ed, but he acknowledged no one and got on the bus. I was able to talk to Will for a while and he said that it was too cold for Ed to come out (he said, you know we re from the south (of course I knew that but it was only about 50 and it looked like Ed had on a long coat). The drummer roadie did take my CD on the bus to get signed by Ed though! All in all, one of the best shows we've ever seen. I hope you all can ee it on tape -- it was quite a production with multiple cameras and mikes. |

It was great. I don't have my ticket with me so the date may be wrong. Just before the show I got to meet the whole band, except Shane. I shook Dean's hand, got Ed's autograph and said a couple of words to him. I told Ross that he had inspired me to p ay guitar with the "She Gathers Rain" guitar solo. I told him he had a great guitar collection as well. They were nice. Then I was about to run to the front door with my girlfriend when my brother told me to come to where he was. Standing beside him w s this tall guy. As I saw his face I could see the resemblence of Will. It was. He stood and talked for about 5 min. Then went into the autograph room, he saw they were not ready for them and came back out to chat somemore. That was real nice. About thirty min. later we waited for them to take stage after Train had taken down. They came out to the "Tremble..." intro. thier set list included: "Shine, Simple, The World I Know, December, Where the River Flows, Gel, Precious Declaration, Listen, Blame, Temble for My Beloved, Heavy, No More No Less, Run, Generate, U2's Walk away, and they closed with Ozzy's Crazy Train" Other than Crazy Train they are not in order. The show was great. I will see them again when Possible. Ross did some of the most ama ing GUITAR work I have ever seen. He didn't play anything but PRS's all night. I loved it!!!!!!!!!!! |

Hi everyone!Last night I enjoyed my second Collectve Soul concert, the first being the Disciplined Breakdown tour in Seattle...Collective Soul are fantastic to see live...there is so much depth and texture they bring to their songs when they perform them ive...Kudos to the sound and lighting crew for a great job... the sound was clean and balanced and everyone's instruments were fleshed-out well... I was in the 25th row center, close enough to see Will smile at us and see Ross' ethereal facial expressions hile he plays (which alone was worth the ticket price and the hour's drive from Seattle,as far as I was concerned) Shane's drumming was well-miked and kicked everybody's butt....and Ed really works hard during these shows but makes it look easy, and all o the band members look like they're genuinely having a good time performing, and the crowd really picks up on this. I was really hoping they would open the show with"Tremble for my Beloved" AND THEY DID!! It's a very fresh and energetic song, and Ross' wor with his wah pedal on this song and the rest of "Dosage" is fantastic...."Generate" was another highlight, as were "Gel", "Run", "Precious Declaration" and a couple of covers, Ozzie's "Crazy Train" and U2's "I Will Follow",in which Ross did an absolutel incredible job covering The Edge's guitar part..what a treat!!! I also enjoyed the moving ballad "The World I Know" ;the images from the video spring to mind, and I was actually crying softly during this number. Thankyou Collective Soul and Crew for an ther fantastic night; you guys write great songs and really deliver onstage! Peace and Love, Tracy Issaquah,Washington |

Well, I can now say I have seen Collective Soul! That statement will mean more as time goes by and these very talented young men reach super stardom.I was in the front row just left of center. There was a drunken bunch of yahoos all around me that was comp etely unruly. Had I not been so enthralled with CS, I would have gone crazy. If only they had played longer(the show lasted just over an hour). One touching moment came when Ed thanked the audience for supporting a band that the media had written off as a ne hit wonder a few years ago.He was obviously holding back tears of joy and gratitude as he led the boys into an awesome performance of "Shine". I nearly came to tears myself when they went into "Run". I almost forgot where I was for a few brief moments uring this tune. These guys play with as much precision as they do heart. They all seem so happy to be able to play and be heard that they break your heart as they are lifting your spirit to new heights. I could go on and on about each number and how they tore through them effortlessly, but would that surprise anybody? I could not help thinking about how much they reminded me of an earnest and intense U2 of the eighties. CS are similar in the way that they make you take notice and make you believe every wo d comes from the deepest reaches of their soul and they want nothing more than to set it to music and share it with you. Some have said U2 became the greatest band in the world going into the nineties with their Achtung Baby and Zooropa albums. Dosage, a ong with a series of jaw dropping performances to support it, leaves no doubt who will succeed the thrown of the world's greatest band as we head into the new millenium. I only hope I can get good seats at that point! |

We had the distinct pleasure to have Collective Soul in ST LOUIS,MO. at The American Theatre May 5th and again at Riverport Theatre Sept 10th. Both shows were fun and full of great energy. The first time they were with Marvelous 3 and 2nd time with Pound and Cranberries. We're not sure Mr. Ed Roland knows it-- but we (THE FANS) love COLLECTIVE SOUL IN ST LOUIS, MISSOURI whether it be on CD's or in concert. We were not sure you felt this when you came on 9/10 to Riverport. We could not hear everything you said on stage and sometimes we did not know how to react to what you were saying. Collective Soul is: great songwriting, great music played with fun, contagious stage presence and everyone is better for experiencing it first hand. We can't thank you enough for shaking up the rock world with your talents and genuine love of music. We hope lots of C.S. fans and music lovers of all types get to experience your music in concert soon. Then take a well deserved rest, write some more great music and come around to everyone again (SMILE)... especially ST LOUIS, MISSOURI. CLASS ACT THING ED ROLAND DID IN 9/10 CONCERT-WE BELIEVE A "POUND" BANDMEMBER (SANG WITH HIM ON ONE SONG.) BRAVO C.SOUL. YOU ARE NEVER ANYTHING BUT 1ST RATE IN CONCERT. Having recently attended the Collective Soul concert at Summerfest in Milwaukee back in July, I egerly awaited the opportunity to see them again. That chance came last Thursday as Collective Soul once again graced Wisconsin with their presence at the Mar us Ampitheatre. The band played another unbelievable show, topping even their Summerfest effort. Of course the show opened with "Tremble..." and closed with "Shine" but the high point of the evening was definately the hard guitar rock of "Heavy", which ad the whole venue jamming along. The only reason I gave this show an 8 was because of its length. To no fault of their own Collective Soul played a short set, and left out a couple of songs I really wanted to see live. All in all this show was phenomi al and turned me into a veritable roady for Collective Soul, as I'll follow them anywhere in the Midwest. Lets get a national tour going guys.....I'll come along for the ride! |

Under the starry skies, Collective Soul opened for the Cranberries (why? it should have been the other way around) and here is their set list: Tremble; December; Precious Declaration; Listen; World that I Know; No More, No Less; Gel; Run; Where the River Flows; I will Follow (U2); Heavy; Shine. At first, the audience was lukewarm towards CS but when Ed requested everyone to get on their feet for the second half of their set, people were going nuts. As usual, Ed got the crowd going and was very nice in t anking the fans for making them what they are today. An outdoor concert which started at 7:30pm, not to many people waiting for Collective Soul to come out. The started it off with Tremble for my Beloved, and at this point only a few people were standing and enjoying the tunes. I was having a great time, love these guys in concert!! I stood the entire time, sang and danced a bit. We heard Run, Heavy, No More, No Less, Crazy Train, Precious Declaration, December, Listen, The World I know, Where the River Flows, and Shine!!! They did get the crowd going, and eventually everyone was on their feet. The Cranberries didn't impress me as much as I thought they would or could have, but they do have some good songs..which is why I stayed, but left an hour after they came on...can't stand the voice for that long. Anyhow, I hope to see Collective Soul again very soon....I watch their Woodstock show as much as possible, I can never get tired of them. For me they were the show, not just the guest. |

The sound, the energy and the way the group relates to the audience made this show one of the best concerts we have ever been to and we'v seen many. We don't understand how Collective Soul could be the lead in band. The Cranberries should have been their lead in band. We can't wait to see them again. I went to a Collective Soul concert on July 21, in Portland, ME. It was one of the BEST expirences I've ever had, and I'm not exaggerating! Collective Soul is my favorite band of all time, so I was totally pysched to be going to see them live. It all t ok place in the State Theater, which is a really tiny auditorium. Either way, the whole building was packed. I would have gotten a great spot, right against the barracade, but my brother was being difficult, so we didn't get down to the stage in time :( Anyhow, despite the fact that we weren't RIGHT next to the stage, we were pretty close. "Oleander" was the opening band, and I guess they were pretty good. I was so excited to be seeing CSoul that I could hardly focus on Oleander at all! Finally, I got sick of standing behind all these huge, tall guys that I ditched my brother and fought he crowd. I got a lot closer to the stage, but I was off to the side. Still, I got a GREAT view of Dean. The show started, and I nearly died screaming when Ed came out(clearly, I have a huge crush on him). The guys were so great! It was boiling hot i the place, and the smoke machines were going like crazy, but I didn't even notice, I was so happy. Ed was really getting into it, and he seemed to really enjoy the crowd's huge response. CSoul did all their hits, like "December" and "The World I Know", s well as "Wasting Time", and the new "Heavy" and "Generate". When they came back for an encore, the crowd going absolutly crazy. So, when they really left for good, Ed thanked us for being a great audience, and said that they realized they were nothing without their fans. Then, Shane tossed his drum sticks out into the crowd, and I ALMOST caught them. Instead some tall guy grabbed them (I hate being short!) Unfortunately, I don't have any cool "meeting the band" stories, but next time I see them, I'll make sure I get down front, and get their attention! |

The only thing that could have made the concert better was having a better band than Oleander as a guest. Someone like Train would have been nice! Other than that, Collective Soul was just about perfect. They played their originals plus the covers of "Crazy Train" and "I Will Follow," and there wasn't one song that was less than outstanding!I loved Ed's enthusiasm during the whole show. He knows how to play to the crowd and to give us that feeling of "I'm glad you're here and I'm glad to be here!" He comes across on stage as being a genuinely nice guy...something that is refreshing, particularly after having to endure the obscenity-laced set of Olean er (grow up, guys!) Collective Soul plays a LOUD, high-energy show that rocks but is also wholesome entertainment for rockers of all ages. I saw people there from ages 12 and up, and they all had a great time. I appreciate the positive spirit of what Collective Soul does. One of those in attendance was one of my best friends, and he wasn't too familiar with Collective Soul (he did own "Dosage"). He is now a certified CS freak! The venue that night was the best I've ever attended (I also saw the boys in Portland, Oregon, and I wonder if anyone else can claim to have seen CS in both Portlands! E-mail me and let me know....), and it made my New England vacation that much better. ( y the way, Portland, Maine, is a lovely city. You all should be proud....) I'm looking forward to seeing Collective Soul again as soon as possible. Thanks guys.... Soli deo gratia! Tracy Sumner |

These guys were great! They opened for The Cranberries, but really they should have their own headliner tour. Ed Roland was feeling "a bit" under the weather, to put it mildly. He was really sick, but he just kept pushing on, giving it all he had. He kept apologizing for his voice, and you could tell he was in a lot of pain, but you just had to feel for him. And he was STILL great! If that's how good they are when he's sick, I've GOT to see them when they're all healthy! Thanks, guys, we really appreciate the effort! A definite MUST the next time they come through here! |

What can I say? C-Soul just rocked. There's no other way to put it. Those of you who have seen them know exactly what I'm talkin' about. They rocked out so hard, especially when they played Crazy Train. That completely convinced my sceptic friend how wesome they were, even if it was just a cover. But you have to be super talented to take on the legendary Randy Rhodes. You rock Ross. My only dream is to now meet them in person. I've seen them 3 times in concert but now I have to see them. I just w nt to shake Ross's hands of gold one time. If I could play like that, maybe my band would let me play lead. Anyway, the concert was great. The nicest part was when they recognized those that were involved in the tragedy in Stockbridge(their hometown) r ght before playing The World I Know. E-mail me if you would like to respond. |

The concert was absolutely perfect. Me and my friend got backstage passes and front row seats after winning a contest that a local radio station sponsored. They even put us on the radio! It was hilarious fun. Oleander opened the concert, and they sounded pretty cool. Collective Soul first played Tremble for my Beloved. They played Crazy Train and covered that Saturday song by Elton John as well. They came back out and played Heavy and Shine for an encore, and people cheered for the longest time after they left the stage. I wish they would have played Dandy Life, I love that song. It was the best concert that I have ever been to. Oh yeah, and before the band played we went back and met them. I got my Dosage CD signed by all the guys, and chatted with Shane for a little while. The guys were really cool, and casual. That concert is definetly the most fun I hav |
