TEAM  TAMCO

ABOUT THE TEAM:  (by Don Tirpak, former Crew Chief)

(L to R Tim Manser, Bill Ward & Bruce Sibel)

In 1997 owner/driver of the #19 MASCAR North Mini cup car Bruce Sibel signed on TAMCO Asphalt Maintenance of Lake Hopatcong, N.J.  as a sponsor for PVS Motorsports Team.  After Sibel completed his first year TAMCO owner Tim Manser began to take a liking to the minicup series and liked the way Sibel represented TAMCO Asphalt Maintenance.  Towards the end of 1998  Manser purchased a minicup car of his own and formed TAMCO Racing.  As the two drivers teamed up entering the 1999 season it was apparent that the racing bug had definitely bitten Manser.  Driving the car of former MASCAR North competitor Anthony Porfido, Manser found himself getting closer to the winners circle each week.  On July 4th 1999, Bill Ward of Roxbury Twp. N.J. took over the duties of Crew Chief.  By the end of the afternoon Manser's #33 found it's way to victory lane thanks to the setup help from Ward and fellow competitor and MASCAR North Champion Jack McMurtrie.  Two weeks later Sibel found his way to his first heat race win.              Now with the 2000 season approaching TAMCO has become a three car team with Ward purchasing the car #82 owned by McMurtrie.
