Rural Hero's final episode has the same rating as the final episodes of Secret of the Heart, Untraceable Evidence and Armed Reaction. These four series so far have the highest rating among all the series in HK this year.

September ,1 1998 Jessica's "Rural Heroes" had its last episode last Friday and it ended up with 2.23 million audience!! This record ties with "Untraceable Evidence", "The Secret Of The Heart" and "Armed Reaction", and it becomes one of the four most welcomed TVB series of this year!!! I notice that among the four of these series, two of them got Jessica in there!! WO! HO!!! I'm so proud of Jessica. She's good and she's lucky too--TVB has given her two good series this year so far, or should I say, all her series this year has been doing well and I do believe in the next one as well! Well, it looks like actor/actresses do matter with the rating quite a bit if not a whole lot, at least in these four series, they got some top actresses that TVB "loves" like Flora Chan, Esther Kwan, Ada Choi, and of course, Jessica!! I'm quite surprised and thrilled by this great news, probably even TVB never would expected this result. But Rural Hero sure made its final victory!!! Congratulations to the series and lovely Jessica!!

August , 26 1998 When Rural Hero's rating reached 35 points (2.11 million viewers), TVB held a celebration party for the cast and crew of Rural Hero. The highest rated single episode so far was the episode where Wing Chun (Roger and Jessica's stepmom) tried to jump into the ocean. That episode had a rating of 38 points. Jackie and Roger were both dressed in really nice suits for the party. Jessica was not there probably because she was busy filming the pet series. News is from Apple Daily.

This is from Singtao Online today. Gallen will have a concert at Hong Hum Athletic Stadium on 9/22 and 9/23. The special guests for the concert are Adam Cheng, Jessica Hsuan, Nancy Sit, Felix Wong and other top actors/actresses from TVB. At his wedding in Canada, Jessica Hsuan and Lam Hiu Fong will attend. Louis Koo is the best man. The maid of honor is the bride's friend.
There is also an article in Apple Daily today about Gallen's concert. However, in that article they didn't mention Jessica as a special guest. But they did mention Lam Hiu Fung as a special guest. So I am not sure is Jessica a special guest at the concert. But both articles mention Jessica, Lam Hiu Fung and Louis are going to attend Gallen's wedding in Canada. Louis is the best man (a very handsome one). The pics should be great. The wedding is September 27.

Rural Hero's rating increases 2 points. Rural Hero is again the Number 1 rated show last week with a rating of 35 points with 2.11 million viewers. Rural Hero's rating should increase somemore during its final week of broadcast. Apple Daily.

The reason is the artists gathered for that picture are playing a family: Ma Hoi Lun is mom, Choi Kwok Hin plays dad, big sister is Sammi, lil' brother is Dung Yuk Kwen. Jessica's character is not a member of that family so naturally she shouldn't be in the "family" portrait.

July ,24 1998 She gained nine pounds from filming the travel special in Germany."Jessica said she gained nine pounds during the filming of the travel special in Germany. She said she gained a whole new dress size. She laughed and said all her weight gain appears on her arms and tummy. People were teasing her about having "bat" arms (flabby arms). She even has to apply special contour on her makeup to hide her weight gain. Jessica said the reason she gained weight is because of lack of activity. Every time the film crew had to travel anywhere, it took them two hours by train. So they would eat a big meal and then sit on the train for two hours. That's how she gained the weight.

The tourism industry asked TVB to select artist to travel to various Asian countries to promote HK. Jessica said she was very tired . She stayed up very late the night before , watching the World Cup series between Brazil and Holland. July ,4 1998 Jessica went to Germany to film a travel special and returned to Hong Kong . Before it even started Jessic already had a mosquito bite cause she was wearing shorts. But she was still happy and enjoy that day. June ,26 1998 On June 26, actor Louis Koo, actresses Sally Lee and Jessica appeared in TVB and try on their appearances in the upcoming new series that's going in start soon and will end the filming by September. However the "new"main actress of the series, Sammi Cheug did not appear at all , although they said to the media that Sammi doesn't feel well, but , people know that on the same night , TVB was having the recording for a big handover show, many popular singers were invited , but Sammi wasn't on the list at all, so she probaly chose to not be in TVB at all , even for this series . Somehow she gives me the feeling that she doesn't take this very serriuosly. the temperary name for this series is ,literally as "Pets Love" , however, ridiculous enough , the "rumored" first-main-actress Sammi Cheug actually won't be in touch with the animals as much as Jessica , therefore the name might be changed at any minute. Jessica said that TVB asked her to act this series a long time ago , and she joked that they really have no second choice but ask her to take the role , since among all the actresses, probaly there's no one else who would love to act with animal as much as she does!
