Ranma and Nabiki? It boggles the mind. 1. She's too mature for him. Besides being a year older, she's space ages ahead of his smarts. Ranma's too easy for Nabiki to manipulate, extort from, and trick for him to be a challenge.  Nabiki would never feed his ego with fits of jealousy -- she'd simply punish him in a subtle way... maybe tell all the boys at Furinkan that Ranma-chan is available and "eager" for some company. 2. Ranma's not rich enough. Now, I'm not saying that Nabiki is purely mercenary and money-grubbing. I mean, a girl does like the occasional creature comforts... like a yacht to entertain in, or shopping sprees in Paris, or maybe a couple of hunky manservants to serve to her every whim.... 3. Nabiki and Kuno! see "Akane and Kuno? Reason #3" Although Kuno will fall for Nabiki's money plots quickly enough, he knows what he's getting into, unlike Ranma. Kuno will always be her shield.... willing or not.

 

"Romance?"

Ranma-chan and Ryoga? Eeeew... nasty! 1. Ranma's a guy!! I shouldn't even have to argue this, but it's as if some people don't realize. This is also for all the people who even wonder if Ranma can have a baby.  Anyway, Ryoga knows about Ranma's curse yet always falls for his tricks. (ie the fiancee?!) A wig and glasses changes his whole appearance?! C'mon Ryoga, we know you can't tell right from left, but surely you can tell a guy from a girl -- namely Ranma! 2. They're rivals for Akane's heart. Okay, maybe if they could get over the guy thing, they might have a chance.... but wait! What about them fighting for Akane? Definitely an impediment. Here's some twisted logic: both of them think the other isn't worthy of Akane (mostly in the case of manhood) so how could they think they are good enough for each other?  They'll try anything to keep the other away from Akane, including the little matter of exposing Ryoga's curse.  3. Ryoga and Ukyou, most definitely. see here. and there Ukyou wouldn't reject Ryoga because of his curse. She thought Ranma's was fun, remember? "Share the wealth, Ranma honey." All the better for Ukyou to have a little pet pig!

Ranma-chan and Kuno? Just plain sick-o 1. (again) Ranma's a guy!! Kuno's the worst offender of the Ranma's- a- guy! decree.  Ranma gets splashed with cold water while in Kuno's arms, changes into Ranma-chan and Kuno thinks the guy's a sorcerer who's "hidden his goddess!" Ugh, frustrating to say the least. 2. Two's Company, three's a crowd. Kuno can almost do well enough by himself... by himself and his reflection, that is.  3. Kuno and Nabiki belong together... go to here and there. Kuno may paste pictures of Akane (so pure and tidy) and the "Pigtailed Girl" (bursting with healthy beauty) all over his wall, but he keeps the pictures of Nabiki in his heart. Awwww... ^_^
