The Return - Chapter 11

by: Roy

Meanwhile Felicia and Elizabeth were trying to settle in on Jasmine Island and to keep their minds off of what was going on out at the compound. Mac had given Felicia work to do, so she decided she’d better get started immediately. First she had to find out how to get hold of Luke. If Faison had kidnapped Lucky and Helena Cassadine was involved, then it had to have some connection to Luke. Faison had surely contacted Luke in some way, or would soon. So they had to bring Luke into things fast. She thought she’d try Tammy first. She placed a call to Kelly’s. Tammy didn’t have a number, but thought Bobbie might. She apologized and they hung up. Felicia’s next call was to Bobbie. Bingo! Bobbie had Luke’s number.

“But he really only told me to use it if it was emergency.” Bobbie was hesitant to give it to Felicia.

“Well, you know Luke has been helping me on some detective work for Lila’s memoirs. I uncovered some things I really need to tell him about. I’ll make sure he knows I twisted your arm. I’ll take full responsibility,” Felicia assured Bobbie.

“OK, got a pencil?” Bobbie gave Felicia the number.

“Thanks, Bobbie!” Felicia hung up and turned to Elizabeth. “One down!” She picked the phone back up and dialed the number that Bobbie had given her. She nervously waited while the phone rang once; twice; three times. “Come on, Luke!” she thought.

“Yeah, make it quick,” Luke snarled into the phone.

“Is that any way to talk to your partner?” Luke’s face softened as he heard Felicia’s voice.

“Why if it isn’t Mrs. Bubba! How’d you find me sweetheart? Just couldn’t live without me, huh?” Luke loved this game he played with Felicia. He could imagine her wrinkling her nose up at his remark.

“I twisted Bobbie’s arm for your number. And you’re right; I couldn’t live without you. Where are you anyway?”

“I’m playing tourist at the moment. But nowhere dangerous, so don’t worry your pretty little head about me.” Luke was about to begin his diamond work for Kreig and he didn’t want to reveal his whereabouts.

Felicia could tell she was going to have to work a little bit. “I discovered some more stuff about that body in George’s crypt. But I need to tell you in person, Luke. Just tell me where you are. I’ll be on the next plane.”

Luke sensed there was more than what Felicia was telling him, but he still wasn’t ready to divulge his location. “And Bubba is OK with you flitting off around the world to meet me?”

“OK, OK Luke. Look I wasn’t supposed to tell you over the phone, but there’s a chance that Robert and Anna didn’t really die. Mac would like your help tracking some things down, but he can’t ask you in an official capacity. So he’s taking advantage of our friendship and my investigating prowess to get the two of us to track down some leads. Please, Luke?” Felicia turned on her charm and hoped this tidbit would bring Luke around.

“What makes him think Robert and Anna are alive?” Luke was intrigued by this information. Somehow he could never believe that Robert was really dead.

“I’ve already said too much. Please Luke, just tell me where you are. I’ll explain everything when I get there.”

“OK, sweetheart. I’m in Switzerland. I’ll meet you at the airport.”

“No, I’ll come to you. I’ll call you when we get there and we’ll set up a place to meet.” Felicia didn’t notice her slip. She didn’t want Luke to know that others would be coming too. “We Keem-o-sabe?” Luke did notice her slip.

“Oh you know I always travel with a mouse in my pocket,” Felicia quipped trying to cover up her mistake. “I’ll be there as soon as possible. I’ll call you from the airport. Bye Luke.”

Felicia hung up. “Whew! It’s hard to pull anything over on Luke!” Elizabeth smiled, impressed by Felicia.

Luke hung up the phone and frowned. What was Felicia up to this time? He was sure he’d find out soon enough. In the meantime he had to get ready for his deal with Kreig.

Meanwhile, Faison was sitting in an office in Switzerland. He’d been lax in checking up on his prisoners the last few days. He picked up the phone and called the compound. “We’re sorry but all circuits are busy…” He snarled when he got a telephone company recording. “Damn American phone system!” He slammed down the phone. He’d try again later.

Back on Jasmine Island, Felicia and Elizabeth were getting antsy. A female officer had brought in some clothes for Elizabeth. She went upstairs to shower and change. Felicia paced the floor as she waited for some news from Mac. Finally she went out to the kitchen to fix some lunch. Elizabeth looked much better when she came back down. But she was really beginning to get scared. Why hadn’t they heard something? She tried to eat, but couldn’t get anything down. Finally the phone rang. Felicia grabbed the phone. “Hello?”

It was Mac calling from the hospital with the news about Robert and Anna. They were being taken care of under assumed names. Taggert and Lucky were on their way out and Felicia was to come back into town when they arrived. Felicia filled Mac in on her progress.

“Great. Jax owes me a favor or two. Maybe I can get him to let us use his jet. I don’t think we should be flying commercial for this thing. Faison is going to figure out we’re onto him pretty soon.” Mac hung up the phone and immediately called Jax to ask about the plane. Jax gave him his usual grief, but agreed to let him use the plane.

Felicia turned to Elizabeth with a smile. “Taggert and Lucky are on their way out here! Everything went fine!” Elizabeth breathed a sigh of relief. “And guess what? They found Robert and Anna Scorpio!” Felicia still couldn’t believe it.

“Are they some relation to Mac?” Elizabeth had heard of them, but didn’t know who they were.

“Oh yes! Robert is Mac’s brother. They are Robin’s parents.” Felicia went on to explain the whole story to Elizabeth, who listened in amazement. The next thing they knew, a car was pulling up to the cabin.
