for April '00 - the To the Manor Born Desktop Theme features that popular British
sitcom from the 70's/80's (it topped the ratings for
three consecutive seasons) built around the British
comedic perennial: class. Penelope Keith is outstanding
as Audrey fforbes Hamilton, the widowed Lady of the Manor
forced to sell up to the a successful nouveauriche
grocer, Richard DeVere played by Peter Bowles, the son of

for May '00 - the Auf Wiedersehen, Pet Desktop Theme. Its success says more about
politics than it does about its humor although there is
no shortage of that! A huge hit with the British public
at a time when Maggie (Thatcher) was causing havoc with
the construction industry in the UK. This popular British
sitcom from the 80's featuring the exploits of a band of
out of work building workers mainly from the north east
of England who head off to Germany to find work - hence

for July '00 - The League of Gentlemen Desktop Theme. The new cult comedy from the
BBC. Question: How many Gentlemen form the League?
Answer: 4 (yes not 3!) Another popular hit, The League of
Gentlemen burst on
the small screen in January 1999 to the delight of the
British viewing public. Essentially the basic theme was a
bunch of men dressed up as women! Whilst there is far
more underpinning the shows success, the wacky sketch centered show owes much to this simple fact. To preview

for August '00 - The Chicken Run Desktop Theme. The brand new full-length feature
film by Dreamworks/Pathe/Aardman Animations has been
released. Two years in the making, Nick Parks successor
to Wallace and Gromit has arrived. Released in the UK on
the 1st July 2000 the movie/film has already claimed its
place in the record books by being the worlds first
clay-animated full length feature film and we will have
to await the Oscars to judge whether the industry confers
similar status to this Nick Park/Peters Lord creation as
the previous three Wallace and Gromit movies. To preview

the series featured two young electrical workers, James Bolam as Terry Collier and Bob Ferris as Rodney Brewes aka The Likely Lads. The series arose out of a sketch written by
Dick Clement with friend Ian La Frenais for the exam part
