December 19, 1999

I had an awakening tonight. Television drama is false. Never have I seen college students acting so intensely and confrontationally. People are not as direct as they are on this show nor do they gaze into each others eyes as they do on this show. In college not everybody is on the same page of life, and people just lounge about and have fun. College would suck if it were like life in Felicity-world. This week's episode epitomizes the false drama in college life. The entire Felicity-Noel conflict is intermingled with some dreams that Felicity has been having, but they were dumb dreams that falsely expressed the themes of the episode. Felicity and Noel partner up for a project in Professor Sherman's art class. They have to do portraits of each other. The love between them comes in and out. He asks her for advice on a Christmas present for Ruby. The choices are a Palm Pilot, a sweater, and a bracelet. Felicity responds by telling Noel that she wants to go out with him. He responds by saying that he doesn't want to get crushed again. She says that the gift should be the bracelet. Then they almost kiss later on, but don't because Elaine walks in on them. Noel ends up giving Ruby the Palm Pilot. Then more almost loving between Noel and Felicity. Ruby asks Felicity is she should buy Noel a ticket so that he can spend Christmas with her. Felicity says yes. Then Ruby asks if Felicity and Noel are getting back together and Felicity says no. Felicity and Noel finish each other's portraits, and Sherman gives them decent grades (even though Felicity cheated on David Sherman [the prof's son] with Noel). Noel then gives Ruby the bracelet. Noel and Felicity depart as friends.

As for the Apartment Gang, Ben works on an American Lit final all episode long. Sean tries and fails to get an investor for Smoothaise. Julie has prospects of a record deal, but Sean is jealous of the record producer.

I suppose that's all of Felicity for 1999, but keep in mind that Ruby and Noel are in Los Angeles for Christmas which is very close to Felicity's home town of Palo Alto, California.

QUOTE OF THE EPISODE: I am a metaphor for your sexual ambivalence and confusion. --Lucky, the French Speaking Dog to Felicity in a dream

Two hour episode of "Popular" aired. I pity the Felicity fans who have gone almost a month without their college-angst drama.

This was a big, fat, two-hour rerun

November 21, 1999

In case you didn't know, I love it when TV shows are awfully tawdry, and this episode of "Felicity" definitely met that standard. As always, just the highlights. On a whim, Felicity's parents show up to celebrate Thanksgiving in New York. They walk into Felicity's dorm room and find her with David. Felicity's parents invite Felicity and David to all spend Turkey Day together. Plans are happy. Elaine then tells Felicity that she should ease the stress of a boyfriend situation by having everyone come over to her and Noel's place. The plans are set. Then David's mom comes along also. This makes Noel freak out b/c David's mom is his and Felicity's professor. Anyway, in the background Felicity is freaking out because David tells Felicity that he is falling in love with her. Big mistake. So everyone (even Meghan) shows up at Noel and Elaine's for Thanksgiving and the professor starts making mixed drinks. Noel gets drunk and goes to lie down...Felicity also feels woozy so she goes to take a break. Noel and Felicity are sobering up together, and they remember last year's Thanksgiving, and they briefly kiss, and the professor walks in and sees this. Fight ensues. At the end of this dinner, Felicity tells David that she just wanted to be in a no-hassle relationship and love freaks her out. His heart seems broken, but they're split up. As for Felicity and Noel...we'll wait for the future.

In the background, Felicity redefines her relationship with her parents. Her parents see the new haircut, learn that Felicity is no longer premed, and meet some new boys in her life. At first they judge her, but then they embrace her. It seems that Felicity really loves her parents now.

The other story goes a little something like this. Javier asks Ben to work on Thanksgiving. Ben will work for twice his normal wages, and Julie & Sean will work with him. As plans for the party are made, Ben learns that the party is being thrown by Maggie and her husband Charlie. Ben doesn't like this and doesn't like having sex with another man's wife. During the party, Maggie tries to hit on Ben one last time. He is rejecting her as Charlie walks up. Maggie turns to Charlie and tells him that she has been having sex with Ben. It seems that Ben and Maggie are no more.

SEX-ILED OF THE EPISODE: The post-it on the door means don't come in. --Felicity to Meghan on when not to disturb one's roommate
NEXT WEEK: I think it's a rerun.

November 14, 1999

Eh. That's normally what I say at the end of an episode of "Felicity," and it's what I say today. First, Maggie shows up at Dean and Deluca to tell Ben that her marriage doesn't have to interfere with her relationship with Ben. She gives him a room key and tells him if he shows up, then good; and if he doesn't, then she'll never bother him again. He goes to the apartment and has fun with her, but he looks through her black book and sees a picture of Maggie's husband. Later at Dean and Deluca, Ben freaks out when Maggie's husband shows up at to order a cake for his anniversary with Maggie. What will happen? Who knows!

So Felicity finds this stray dog on the streets and names him Lucky. That night, Felicity plans to have sex with David for the first time. (Keep in mind, she has only had sex once before in her whole life.) Unfortunately, Felicity can't find a place to keep Lucky so she takes Lucky to David's apartment. Felicity can't have sex with David because Lucky keeps on looking at them and then when David puts Lucky in the bathroom he whines too loud for Felicity. Elaine explains that this dog is just an excuse for Felicity to not have sex, and Noel says that he is OK with not having had sex with Felicity because it allows for a mystery between them. Anyway, Noel agrees to keep the dog for a night so Felicity can have sex with David, but he interrupts the coitus when Lucky bits him. That next day, Felicity learns that the dog is dying, and she has to put him to sleep. She then goes to see David and is upset when he unleashes his sexual frustration on Felicity. The next day Felicity goes to put the dog to sleep, and David shows up. The two of them make up, and Felicity apologizes for not being able to have sex and admits that she's just not ready. David says it is OK for Felicity to not be ready. The two kiss and make up and then have sex. The end.

MAJOR NOTE OF THE EPISODE: Major flirtations between Noel and Felicity. SECOND MAJOR NOTE OF THE EPISODE: When will Sean admit his feelings for Julie? NEXT WEEK: It's Turkey Day, and Felicity is ready to spend the holiday with David and his family, but Noel tags along. Kissing ensues

November 7, 1999

Here is "Felicity." I stole it from another website so beware of its length.

Felicity wonders why David hasn't kissed her yet. She tells Sally they had dinner twice last week, they saw a movie - they talk on the phone every day. She thinks maybe he was so hurt by his ex-girlfriend that he's hesitant about getting involved. She tells Sally she hopes that's not it.
Ruby is approached on the street to audition for a movie. Elena,Felicity and Julie encourage her to go for it.
Ben stops by to see Maggie at work. She asks what he's doing there. He asks if he needs a reason to come see her. She explains that she needs to maintain a professional image in front of her employees. He kisses her. She stops him - she's kissing a college boy. He tells her she needs to get over the age thing.
Felicity and David return to her dorm room and find Meghan has contracted mono. David tells Felicity she shouldn't sleep in the dorm room. She tells him she has no choice - she's an RA. He invites her to stay at his place.
Javier does not approve of Felicity staying at David's place. Felicity tells him she wants to stay at David's place - she likes him. Javier says it seems like a scheme to get her into bed. He invites her to stay at his place. The phone rings. Javier answers. He hands over the phone telling Felicity it's the man he doesn't trust - David. His apartment is being fumigated so Felicity has to find someplace else to stay.
Noel and Ruby come back to the dorm after a date. Felicity is trying to sleep on the sofa. Noel and Ruby kiss unaware that Felicity is there. Ruby notices Felicity first and asks what she's doing out there in the lounge. Felicity explains that Meghan has mono. Noel says he thought she was staying at David's place. Felicity explains that the plan fell through. Ruby says goodnight and goes to her room. Noel asks if Ruby knows he and Felicity dated. Felicity says she didn't say anything. Noel says he doesn't think Ruy knows. Felicity asks why he hasn't told her. He says the ex-girlfriend/boyfriend discussion hasn't come up yet. He tells her it's stupid for her to sleep in the lounge and invites her to come stay at his and Elena's place. She tells him it's actually pretty comfortable. She doesn't get much sleep - a couple having sex is pretty loud most of the night.
David stops by Dean & Deluca to ask Felicity out to dinner. She asks if his apartment is really being fumigated. He tells her after dinner he'll take her there to prove he's not a liar.
Noel helps Ruby rehearse for her audition. He tries to get her to tell him who she'll be working with in the movie. She tells him she's not allowed to tell anyone, but she'll tell him if she gets the part.
Felicity stops by her dorm room to get some clothes - she'll be staying at Elena and Noel's place after all. Ruby stops by while she's there and asks if she can get a diaphram from the university's health services. She says she was on the pill for a while, but it made her so bloated. Felicity tells her to remember that the pill and diaphrams don't protect from stds. Ruby mentions that Felicity and Noel seem to be really good friends and asks why she never went out with him. Meghan sneezes in Felicity's face as she leans over to put her clothes in a bag. Felicity screams and wipes her face with a tissue she's been holding over her nose and mouth. She tells Ruby they should get out of there.
Maggie tells Ben she wants to be with him one last time - she says she won't see him after tonight. The have sex in her kitchen at her catering business.
Ruby invites Felicity and David to have dinner with her and Noel. They all try to get her to tell who she'll be starring in the movie with if she gets the part. Ruby goes to get drinks for them and David goes with her. Noel and Felicity are at the table alone. He notices an eyelash on her face. He removes it and tells her to make a wish and make sure she's got a really good one. She asks what he would wish for. He says he can't tell her because it won't come true. She says he's not the one wishing. He says he always wishing - even on non-eyelash moments. Felicity makes a wish and blows the eyelash off Noel's finger. He says her wish couldn't have come true because he's still there. Ruby and David notice Noel and Felicity laughing and smiling. They both look a little worried. Later Noel and Ruby are kissing and he calls out Felicity's name. She asks what's going on between them. Noel says they broke up last year. Ruby clarifies and says that Felicity broke up with him. He tells her it's over. Ruby asks why neither of them told her. Noel says he was going to tell her. Noel says it doesn't matter. Ruby says it matters to her - she went to Felicity and told her things, asked her for birth control advice. Noel says he knows. Ruby goes back to the table and grabs her jacket. She tells Felicity she put her in a really embarrassing position - not telling her the truth. Noel goes after her. David wonders what's going on. Felicity tells him she probably should have told him about her past relationship with Noel. She tells him that she and Noel are over. David says it's so hard to judge something like that so soon after a break-up. Felicity tells him Noel is not the guy she just recently broke up with. That doesn't go over too well with David. He says it's difficult for him to trust someone after his break-up. He tells Felicity it's not her - it's him. David leaves. Noel returns to the table. Ruby wouldn't allow him to walk her home. Felicity tells him David left. She asks him what the hell just happened. Noel tells Felicity he said her name when he and Ruby were kissing. He tells Felicity as much as he feels for her - as much as he thinks about her - he really wanted things to work out with Ruby. Felicity says she wanted things to work out with David.
Maggie and Ben leave her catering shop. He asks if she'd like to go get some coffee or something. She says she knows he didn't believer her when she said it's over between them, but it is. Ben asks why - she likes him. She tells him she likes sleeping with him. She tells him to take care.
The next morning Felicity wakes up feeling awful. She's pretty sure she has mono. Elena and Noel want her to leave. She goes back to the dorm.
Ruby stops by to see Noel. She tells him that she really likes him, which is why she got so upset the night before. She says she likes being with him - whatever happens - happens. Noel tries to explain. Ruby tells him he doesn't need to explain, he just can't ever do it again. Ruby tells him she has news - she got the part. She'll be gone for 3 weeks so they'll need to make up for lost time. Noel asks who she'll be starring with. She tells him Tom Cruise.
Ben stops by to see Maggie. The phone rings. One of her employees tells her her husband is on the phone. Ben is shocked. He leaves.
Felicity, sick with mono and wearing a mask, goes out in the rain to David's place. She pulls down the mask to talk to him. She says she's sorry he's not comfortable with this potential relationship. She really wanted to see where things to go. She says that if she wasn't pretty sure she has mono she'd grab him and kiss him right now. She pulls her mask back up to cover her nose and mouth. David reaches over and pulls the mask down and says,'So give me mono.' He kisses her.

A shameless rerun that's too boring to recount.

October 24, 1999

Words I never thought I'd speak: I liked this episode of Felicity. The episode was really bad and Felicity looks horrible with her haircut, but for some strange reason I was happy while watching. So what happened. The opening scene was dinner with Noel, Felicity, and Elaine. The situation is tense until Elaine shouts out that Felicity is jealous of Ruby (the girl that Noel is seeing) and Noel is worried about Felicity maybe going out on a date. Both deny this. Anyway, life goes on and Felicity's professor asks Felicity if she wants to go out with her (the professor's) son who is a grad student and photographer named David. Felicity says no, but after talking with Julie (Felicity and Julie aren't best friends, but they are slowly working towards friendship), Felicity realizes that she needs to date a guy to get over Ben...not a great guy, but a B-list guy. Felicity then tells her professor that she will go out with David. The two go out and the guy is a total asshole so Felicity leaves in the middle of the date. The next day David comes by and apologizes for being a bad date but blames his behavior on the fact that a few months ago his girlfriend married his best friend. The two go out on another date and have a great time. Felicity then goes to see Elaine to talk. She hopes to get through to Elaine who has been addicted to video games with Noel. The two have been playing playstation non-stop and don't give up on this game until Noel makes a 7 year old boy cry. So Felicity shows up at the apartment but Elaine isn't there. Noel is there. Felicity sees a book lying around that Noel plans to give as a gift to Ruby, but when Noel asks what she did that night, Felicity (who had just been on a date) said that she didn't do anything real. Noel then asks if Felicity wants to go out for some coffee. Felicity says yes but we hear a voice over saying that she won't tell Noel about David, because it's hard talking about a B-list guy to an A-list one. The only other story was about Ben and the caterer that was hitting on him last night. The two have sex, and the morning after, the caterer acts very aloof and tells Ben that "she'll him some time." Ben realizes that he's being put off and thinks it's because the two have such a serious age gap. My hypothesis is that Ben is a bad lay, but I must be wrong because later that day Ben finds out that she called him and left him her new pager number.
QUOTE OF THE EPISODE: Dating no one is the greatest feeling. -- Felicity
NEXT WEEK: The WB didn't show scenes from the next

October 17, 1999

I'm keeping this simple. Julie writes a nasty song about Felicity and Felicity tries to confront Julie about it, but can't until the two get stuck on a subway car. Conflict follows and the whole subway car gets in a fight over who is right until this one man stands up and says that the two had never been best friends and they shouldn't pretend like they ever were. In the end, Julie says she won't play the song anymore and the two seem peaceable around each other, but it's not for sure. Also, Noel and Ruby kiss. And Ben seems to be getting along with this one girl who was really rude to him in Dean and Deluca. That's all.
QUOTE OF THE EPISODE: "You don't get a best friend. You become a best friend." --some guy on the subway to Felicity and Julie
NEXT WEEK: Felicity starts dating B-list men to get over Ben. The first one of her list is a professor's son.

October 10, 1999

I stole this, so forgive it's lack of a personality.
Meghan gives Felicity’s new haircut a thumbs down. Burke, the annoying advisee that felicity went to the party with says Felicity looks hot. Noel tells Felicity that her hair will grow back which reaffirms the friction between them. Anyway, in giving some scheduling advice, Felicity tells her there are some amazing drawing classes in the catalog. Felicity notices some art classes she’d like to take which causes her to become an art major and drop pre-med. The art class has Noel in it. And Noel has this flirtation thing with this girl named Bridged in the class. The girl is in the same art class that Felicity has just transfered into and Bridged and Felicity become partners, much to Noel's chagrin. Noel gets mad at Felicity. But days later after Noel finds out that Bridged is gay, when Felicity's artwork is being severly criticized, Noel becomes nice to Felicity. But it seems that Noel is going out with a new girl, Felicity's advisee- Ruby Anyway, Julie announces that she’s found an apartment with roommate Susan. Sean looks disappointed. And now Ben and Sean search for a new roommate. Sean really wants Julie to move in, but that seems unlikely considering her past with Ben. Julie then can't move in with Susan so Ben says it would be OK if Julie moved in with him and Sean.
Sally's advice for the episode: The hardest part about moving forward is not looking back.
NEXT WEEK: It's no holds barred when Felicity and Julie get stuck on a train together. Noel begins his romance with Ruby.
