Overview
First Impressions
Watch out Plastic Man is about. Plastic Man may be a shapeshifter, but he is chromatically challenged when it comes to the colour of the objects he forms - this gives the biggest clue to Plaz' whereabouts - look for the red object with the yellow and black stripes. Once you've identified him he will normally revert back to human form with a quip or a wisecrack. And there he is, Plastic Man, in all his latex glory. His skin will appear slightly waxy and the hair looks over oiled. You may not want to buy a car from this guy, but he will surely try and make you laugh.
Brief
Eel O'Brian was the leader of a petty criminal gang until they bunged a robbery at a chemical factory. He fell into a vat of unknown chemicals and was transformed into the rubber and versatile fellow that we know and love today (via a sidetrack to see some kindly monks who convinced his to use his powers for good). Despite his over the top persona Plastic Man still maintained criminal contacts as Eel and began helping the FBI as special investigator.
Recent Developments
Plastic Man was drafted into the Justice League by Batman to infiltrate the Injustice Gang and impersonate the Joker. The League underwent an upheaval after that case and Plastic Man was taken on as a full time member. Since then he has repeatedly demonstrated his commitment to the greatest group of straight-men in the business. When Ra's Al Ghul stole the Batman Protocols he froze Plastic Man solid and had him shattered. He was eventually reassembled, but was left with a bitter feeling towards Batman. He was one of the heroes that voted for Batman's expulsion from the League.
Abilities
Body is an organic-plastic compound animated by a forceful personality. Allows him to shapeshift fluidly and rapidly into what ever his mind wills. He cannot alter his colour and all resulting forms are predominantly red.
Tactics
Plastic Man is one of the fastest thinking of the Justice Leaguers. Against most opponents he will use the element of surprise to hit them with a sudden change of form and a bad pun to catch them unaware. This can be convincing army recruits that everything they see for the next five minutes will be in primary colours or grossing out ancient sorceress with constant chat up lines. However against more powerful opponents he is more often a distraction while the other team members get into position. Unfortunately he has a habit of biting off more than he can handle and almost getting himself killed.
Relationships
Connections
Everybody knows Plastic Man because Plastic Man makes sure that everybody knows him. He has often worked with Superman in the past and Clark is most likely to find his jokes funny (however he'd never let Plaz know that). He was brought into the League by Batman, but their relationship is severely strained after the Protocols incident. When Orion and Barda were in the League Plaz began a crusade to make them smile and even succeeded in getting Orion's respect. Surprisingly Plastic Man's best friend in the League is the billion-year old guardian angel Zauriel (who does a pretty good Plaz impression himself).
