Synopsis
After a funeral for the departed Metamorpho the League gathers together to interview and review potential applicants. Several potential members are considered including the second Green Arrow and Aztek. Suddenly Tomorrow Woman makes a dramatic entrance claiming to be a telepath with a four lobed brain. She is inducted in due course as the first member of the new JLA. Unbeknownst to the League she is a highly advanced android created by Professor Ivo and T. O. Morrow.
Meanwhile the League battle an eastward heading, randomly appearing and attacking weapon. As the League tracks it from site to site the Batman uncovers that it is an "IF" - Implicative Field - left over from the Lord of Time's last appearance. It was activated accidentally by a government black ops team. Batman theorises that an EM pulse would wipe its hard drive rendering it harmless.
Tomorrow Woman then seemingly sacrifices herself by using the EM Pulse weapon built into her to stop the IF. Originally the bomb was meant to kill the League, but she manages to break her programming and dies a hero. The League round up Ivo and Morrow who they find celebrating the birth of a new soul rather that commiserating their failure. Tomorrow Woman is then buried in the JLA Garden of Remembrance.
