Idalia Station
Old Station at Idalia, Missouri where I learned to telegraph. I was working as a hired hand on an 80 acre farm, one mile from the depot. Walking behind 2 miles with a hand plow. On Sundays and when it rained, I ran to the depot;
where the agent, Guy Christan, taught me telegraphy.


Blue Streak
First 43, First section of the Blue Streak, one mile north of Camden, Arkansas about 1936. It was on this trestle that number 6, a passneger train, caught me several years later. I was about 20 yards out on the trestle on a 3 wheel velocipede, when #6 came around the curve at North Camden. I finally got off the trestle and cleared #6 by 10 seconds.
