Prohibit all activities in the area of presence of whales which may: injure,hurt,disturb,harass,capture,persecute,intimidate,kill those animals.
Furthermore its is prohibited to commercialize products made of whales and parts of whales.
Harassment is understood to be any human activity which affects the natural behavior of the whale.
Harassment may be expressed by a whale in the following examples:
a) radical changes of swimming direction
b) changes in the respiration cicle
c) departure of the observation area
d) evasive movements and behavior
No infringement of whales's natural movements or behavior must be attempted and
no action must be taken to produce a whale's reaction resulting in physical contact.
Prohibit all swimming and diving activities in the area of presence of whales, except for scientific investigation.
The maximum time to observe a single whale is restricted to 20 minutes. In case the whale
shows any signs or actions of being harassed the boat has to move away from the animal.
Observation of one single whale or a single group of whales is limited to one boat only at a time.
It is prohibited to approach a whale closer than a distance of 300 feet, in case of a mother and calf, 400 feet.
Simultaneous observation of the whale area is restricted to only two boats at a time, with a minumim distance of 1.000 feet
between the boats.
In case a whale appears between the two boats, the one which is closer to the whale has the right to observe first.
The other boat has to wait at a distance until the first boat has finished observing and moved away.
Always approach the whale from behind, never interfere with the direction it is heading.
It is prohibited to navegate between mother and calf.
It is prohibited to throw any kind of objetct or trash into the water or against the whale, as well as
make any noises in order to catch the whale's attention.
