"Pack the luggage and start off!", we said at the beginning of 1997. Our destination: Tampa (a city on the Peninsula of Florida's West Coast) Orlando and Miami. And there were, looking forward to the adventure of learning, the distraction and "to recharge our batteries ', for the rest of the year.
Tampa is a beautiful City, with many attractions to visit and enjoy. For example, at the Tampa Aquarium, a gigantic space dedicated to the creatures who inhabit the sea. The Aquaria filled with living coral and artificial coral, like the one on the right, are immense. Close to this one they have built an amphitheater, so the public can see the diver, who is giving details of the fish that pass next to him. A shark of 3 meters in length passed next to the diver and both were immobile!
As we needed some rest, we took advantage of the amenities we had at the Holiday Inn Tampa, to rest in its interior park. When we went to Bush Gardens we passed very pretty moments. I can say with pride: " I survived the Congo River " (although wet to skin, I must say). We had no other choice than to buy some new clothes, to change for the wet ones.
When we went to Saint Petersburg, located in front of Tampa, we visited several very special places. The Museum of Salvador Dalí fascinated us, by the brilliance of its wonderful paintings. What imagination and how much fervor to create as he did. The panel of Venus de Milo is a poem, to mention just a single one.
We also went to "The Sunken Gardens", a beautiful park constructed in the bed of an small Lake. The plants grow very easily, using the nutrients that were in the lake's bed. From this park in the next image, where a trainer holds closed the jaw of a 3 meter crocodile, just with his chin. After the show I could caress a small crocodile. Beautiful...
When we arrived at Orlando, we went once again to Epcot Center, that held so many special memories for us. In the following photo we see a Venezia's Musical Group, that touched classic venezianos, as the famous "Rondo Veneziano", a very nice spectacle all the way, since they dressed 1600's clothes.
Of course we stayed until the closing of Epcot Center, to see the illumination and fireworks. This year they were something extra special because the park was celebrating their first 25 years in business. The photos of the illuminated AT&T building and that of the main Fountain ahead are seen in the first photo and the fireworks in the middle of the lake, were accompanied by alternative illumination of the Buildings of the Nations, laser, sound. Unforgettable!!
We also went to Universal Studios, which is really beautiful. It is a park of the Group who handles Bush Gardens, in Tampa. It has wonderful spectacles, like the one in the last photo, with the Orca Shamú. He weighs 10 tons and splashes spectators of the first 7-10 rows of seats with its great tail. What the Orca does, the people can see it in the giant screen of the center. Shamú has also a son, who swam next to his mother in another tank.
You shouldn't miss the Polar bears of Siberia show, they have created a very interesting habitat for the giant bears. These bears were playing like dogs, biting and following an immense trash can. They moved the can as if were a toy.
We saw so many things more, that this Page would be made very long if I recalled them all. I better leave some for the future, in case a second part arises. You never known... For that reason, I request to you that you continue visiting my personal Pages.
