XENOGEARS : PROLOGUE
The God had fallen...
There is a place in the Northern Hemisphere called Ignis. On this continent, which is the largest on the planet, two big countries have continued a dispute spanning several hundred years. Kisreb holds the land in the Northern part of the continent, while Ave possesses the desert lands in the South. The battle that has waged between both countries for a long time, its origin forgotten by all, only repeats the tragedy and rivalry in vain.
And so it happened that before long the battle, which was both chronic and habitual, met with a big change. This was because a tool, a sort of weapon, was excavated from the remains of an ancient civilization and repaired by the [Church] who governed the preservation of the world's civilizations. Both countries unanimously excavated the thing. It was repaired by the [Church] and the weapon was considered something with war potential.
The many weapons excavated from the ruins changed the way they fought greatly. The victory or defeat of both countries seemed not to be decided by man to man combat but rather by battles of the mechas which had been excavated from the remains called Gear Arsar.
The war situation of both countries vacillated repeatedly but soon Kisreb gained the advantage.
There was a great difference in the quantity of the ruins' buried resources and theirs was the greatest source. At this time, an enigmatic military organization arrived on the planet Ignis. The name of the organization was Geblar and they attempted to make contact with Ave.
Ave, receiving the backing of the military group Geblar, recouped by half their situation in the war, which was in its final stages due to numerical inferiority. Ave gained power and took over Kisreb's possessions one by one. Furthermore, they did not slow down their invasion.
Lahan, a remote region in Ave, lies near the boundary line with Kisreb.
Everything begins there.
