Upon receiving word from a Cyan staffer that work had begun on their next thing, I went out and started the first site dedicated to the next game. "The Next Thing...." is still rather bare of information...but I'm hoping that that will change, soon.

New Riven Patch, no Riven Shareware...10:09 A.M. PST
There's a new Riven patch out for Windows 95 which fixes all the stuff v. 1.01 fixed, and then some...you can find the Riven patch which will upgrade your computer to v. 1.02 here....also, I've been getting numerous emails asking whether or not there is a Riven Shareware version...there is not.

There is a new article about Riven over at Computer Games Online that is worth taking a look at...they have a few new pictures, which I'm sure you've _all_ seen by now... I've been wandering around Riven for a while now, and have decided that I need to upgrade my computer at home, as the one I use at school has no sound.....I'll be posting some screenshots next week...if anybody has a screenshot they really, really like, I will be accepting "Reader Favorites" which will go in a gallery all their own...please send any of those (or any ideas) to Jearom@hotmail.com...that's all for now....

I got it!!!6:30 P.M. PST
I finally went out and bought Riven at about 1:30 p.m. today at the Costco in Salinas, California....I couldn't believe how cheap it was, only $39.99 for the game of the year!!!! Anyway, I'm happy, even though I have to wait until Monday so I can install it on one of the computers at school (I can't run it at home :(... In other news, the official Riven website was updated yesterday, and they included a .mov file containing the Riven TV commercial (I haven't seen it yet, anyone know what channels they're advertising on??). You can find that .mov here.
Also, I've been wondering whether there is any way to extract the sounds from Riven out of the dat files....if anyone comes up with a way to do so, I'd be pleased if you'd let me know...

The official Riven website has finally been updated, so head on over and take a look! Also, there is a walkthrough you might want to look at if you get stuck playing Riven. It can be found here. Also, I'm sorry to report that I won't be posting the winning URL for the HappyPuppy contest unless something miraculous happens, and my internet access speeds up a bit...it's running at .1k/sec right now, making things really, really difficult. I hope that you all understand...Otherwise, have a happy Halloween!!!

Wow, it hardly seems like it's possible, but after all this time, Riven has finally been officially released in stores today!! Unfortunately, neither the Cyan website, nor the Riven.com site has updated pages today, but there is one plus, the second round of the Happypuppy "Be Among the First" contest starts today at 6:00...as soon as I find out the winning URL, I'll post it here, so stay tuned.....

Great News!!9:45 A.M. PST
I just found out that those people who ordered the special edition of Riven have started receiving them via U.S. Mail. I suppose it's time I order my copy...yes, that's right, I must be the last person on the Lyst who hasn't ordered Riven yet (It's not my fault, every time I call Broderbund, the line is busy :) There are so many new articles in the press about Riven, I'm not going to bother listing them all anymore....In other news, this site will undergo a move sometime soon as I move into my Geoplus address and start working on my new "Center Ridge" homepage which will be dedicated to all those different types of worldbuilding out there...more news on that later, when it goes online....However, if anyone out there would like to make me a few logos, buttons, etc. that say "Center Ridge" on them, I'd be much obliged if you'd send 'em to me at Jearom@hotmail.com.
