EFNet is short for Eris Free Network. This Inter Relay Chat net was formed in August of 1990. It was a split between the main IRC due to conflicting philosophies on the way IRC should be organized and controled. Now EFNet is the largest and most popular IRC with about 120 servers and 1500 users... If your IRCing most likly you will be in EFNet. |
There are many servers that get into EFNet. I try to get the servers that are least popular because those are the ones that have less lag. Here are a few that I login to. The usually the ports are 6667, but you can change them on popular servers to reduce lag.

There are hundred and hundred of servers. These servers are the ones that I have used the most often. The portal 6666 for irc.ais.net is full of netsplits. I know I told you netsplits are bad, but to the hackers and PpL in War this is very useful for Channel takeovers and stuff..hehehe. but most of you are newbies so.. don't even think about it.. IRCops might K-line you or your whole user address. K-Lined means its an automatic kill from the server you are using to your IRC address the user@site.com .. This is why sometimes you can't login to a server because the @site.com part was K-Lined.. because some idiot was trying something.. hehe..go check out the rest of the NETS |
