In the final episode of the TV version of "Tenchi Muyo!", Tenchi goes back to earth and even returns to his "house" when he could have easily stayed at Jurai. This theatrical version was created to further explore why Tenchi returned home and to learn the "true" origin of Tenchi, who can handle the temptation of six beautiful women. (laugh) We then decided to have Achika, Tenchi's mother as one of the main characters and resolve the secret of the origin of the "dream house" where the gang wound up staying. It was a big challenge to change the music score of Mr. Seikou Nagaoka, who must be familiar to all of the fans of OVA and the TV series. It seems that Mr. Christopher Franke's music somehow matches the nostalgic theme of the film and I am very happy with the scale of the sound that can only be realized with the theatrical version, especially the last scene. I bet the combination of picture, narration and music will bring tears to your eyes. I did not make any particular requests to Mr. Chritopher Franke. On the contrary, I wanted him to start with the theme of the film and just let his imagination do the job. I was even hoping that he would come up with something different from my own vision. However, when I listened to is work, it was not so much different from what we, our Japanese staff had in mind. I was very appreciative though, because it made me feel that he really understood the core of this film.

(Mr. Hiroshi Negishi): Born in Tokyo. His work includes: NG Soldier Ramune and 40, Space Knight Teccaman Blade (TV), KO Century Beast Sanjushi, Bounty Dog (OVA). He ha also produced/directed the TV series Tenchi Muyo!
