Below are the complete bios for all of Robotech/Macross characters I know of and could find. These entries are in order of appearance on the TV series.
Mayor Tommy Luan
Voice: Unknown
"Hmmm... The big shots making their grand entrance!"
He is quite simply the Mayor of Macross City. There's nothing much to say about him, except that after the Fold Incident, it took Minmei to pump some hope into him since he was as convinced as anybody else in Macross City that they'd all die at the hands of the Zentraedi and never see Earth again. He was also somewhat miffed about being kept out of SDF-1's Launch Ceremonies by RDF higher-ups who wanted the attention on themselves alone.
Vern Havers
Voice: Unknown
"We'll all miss her..."
A friend of the Mayor, he was proud of SDF-1's completion. But at the same time, he was worried about the unemployment that would come if SDF-1 left Macross City permanently. He runs an appliance store.
Senator Russo
Voice: Mike L. Reynolds
"SDF-1 is a battleship! That's what it was built for!"
Russo is the manipulative and calculating politician who used the crash of SDF-1 to get himself a high position of power and could care less about the crew of SDF-1 and the people of Macross City.
Henry Gloval
Voice: Unknown
"Bozhe moy!"
Captain of SDF-1, Gloval has had a distinguished military career. He was captain of the aircraft carrier, Kenosha when SDF-1 crashed landed in 1999. He led the first expedition aboard the great ship. Of Russian background, Gloval has been known to curse in his native tounge whenever his great height contradicts the Bridge's low hatch. He also has a taste for tobacco and smokes his pipe on the Bridge, much to the dismay of Sammy who's tried pointing out regulation to him a couple of times. It's also a little known fact that Gloval is a great cook and will make fabulous dinners when he feels the heat is off SDF-1 which is very rare.
As Captain of SDF-1, he has faced death more than once and has cunningly kept his forces from being totally destroyed by the Zentraedi. However, while he's tried to keep a positive outlook on SDF-1's constantly precarious situation, he's had to deal with the reality of the relentless alien forces and the untrustworthy politicians who'd rather chuck SDF-1 and it's crew and civilian population to the Zentraedi than stand by her. It should also be noted that Gloval once served under Lisa's father before he was an Admiral and that Roy Fokker served under him aboard the Kenosha.
Lisa Hayes/Misa Hayase
Voice: Aline Leslie
"Now listen, Commander Fokker! You'd better have a good reason for turning a Veritech Fighter over to an amateur civilian pilot! You could be Courtmartialed for this, you know!"
Daughter of Admiral Hayes, Lisa was born to a military family. However, Lisa had no intentions of following her family's example until her fiancee, Karl Riber joined (drafted?) the military during the Global War. He applied for a transfer to Sara Base on Mars and got it. Before he left, Lisa vowed to join the military and follow him to Mars. But before she could get through her military schooling, Sara Base was attacked by unfriendly forces. Most of the base survived intact, but the staff were slaughtered. Obviously, this was a devasting blow to Lisa. And on top of that, everyone expected more out of her as a soldier due to her family. So she tried to block out her feelings by becoming a cold, calculating, By The Book type soldier. As a result, she rose through the ranks very quickly. Eventually becoming SDF-1's First Officer. However, her troubles would not end there. When SDF-1 came upon Sara Base, she searched frantically for any trace of her lover but found only his room. There she
stayed, resolving that she'd die at Sara like her fiancee when the base's reflex furnace exploded. But she was rescued by a young recruit named Rick Hunter who as of late had become an annoying thorn in her side. From disobeying orders to talking back, her paitence was tested more than once by him and she'd written him off as a simple annoyance. But Rick would soon become much more to her than a simple pain in the neck...
Claudia Grant/Claudia LaSalle
Voice: Brittany Harlow
"Just once, before this operation is over, I'd be nice if he'd learn to keep his mouth shut."
Best friend of Lisa Hayes who is just under her in rank but older and much tougher than her. Where Lisa is By-The-Book, Claudia is a No-Nonsense officer. She has bad temper and often keeps the bridge officers in line. She's even been known to shout down Lisa at times. But her temper aside, she can be a very caring individual and has held Lisa's hand many times when her memories of Karl Riber come back to haunt her. She's also dating Roy Fokker.
Vanessa Leeds(?)
Voice: Unknown
"Lisa doesn't understand about men, Claudia! She's in love with this spaceship!
One of the infamous Bridge Bunnies, also known as the Terrible Trio, Vanessa is SDF-1's Sensors Officer. She always hangs out with the other bridge techs, Kim and Sammy, hence their nickname.
Sammie Porter
Voice: Julie Magdalena(?)
"No smoking on the Bridge!"
Another one of the Bridge Bunnies, Sammy is the youngest of the three and shares Engineering duties with Kim.
Kim Young
Voice: Deena Morris
"But if we do that, the whole town might just...!"
The final Bridge Bunny, she handles Engineering with Sammy.
Rick Hunter/Hikaru Ichijo
Voice: Tony Oliver
"You're proud of being a killer?"
Once a pilot at his father's air circus, Rick has won numerous awards for his flying. When invited by his old friend and "Big Brother", Roy, to attend the Launching Day festivities at Macross Island, the first thing he did was show off Roy's pilots with his stunts. Roy was understandibly annoyed. Later, when the Zentraedi mounted their first attack, Rick was thrust into the middle of the fighting when Lisa mistook him for an RDF pilot and ordered him to take off and join the fighting. During the battle, Rick learned first-hand about the Veritechs and their unsual ability to transform. Though at first clumsy with Veritechs, when Rick finally joined the RDF, he quickly learned how to fly and maneuver his fighter with
skill and used those techniques to save Lisa at Mars Base, Sara. Besides, his sudden military life, Rick also must deal with trying to win Minmei's heart. But that goal becomes skewed when he begins to develop feelings for Lisa. I might also add, that Lisa isn't Rick's biggest fan, and regreted
her actions at Sara Base only because it got Rick a medal and a promotion. And with that promotion came two more problems to Rick's life: Ben and Max. Assigned as subordinates to him, he now has to keep them out of trouble while dealing with everything else. Of course, this is just the beginning...
Roy Fokker/Roy Focker
Voice: Don Warner
"Ooh! She's mad!"
Leader of Skull Squadron, Roy is an experienced pilot and well decorated flyer. Served under Captain Gloval aboard the Kenosha. He was one of the first people to enter SDF-1 after its crash. Before the Global War, flew for Pop Hunter's Flying Circus and is reponsible for a good deal of Rick's flying skills. Also, his closeness to Rick throughout the years is what earned him the nickname, "Big Brother". Roy usually handles himself well in a fight, but even great pilots can't live forever... He's also dating Claudia.
Lynn-Minmei/Lynn Minmay
Voice: Reba West
"I'd apologize to her if I were you, Rick. Women her age can get awfully mean."
Just 15 years old when she got involved with the adventures of SDF-1, Minmei hoped to one day win the Miss Macross Beauty Pagent and become a recording star. However, trapped on SDF-1, she thought her hopes were dashed. But her dreams came true when Mayor Luan decided to go ahead with the pagent to boost the city's moral. Minmei won over Jan Morris and the other girls to become Miss Macross. As a result, she was an overnight success. Unfortunately, her new found fame and fickleness (a lesser Robotech fan would have said emptiheadedness) caused her to notice Rick's affections for her less and less and thus forcing him to notice Lisa Hayes more and more.
Jason
Voice: Unknown
"Wow! Hey, Minmei! Come lookit what's out here! An honest-to-goodness giant robot!"
Minmei's 7 year-old cousin, he has a habit of running under foot and being an annoyance to Minmei.
Breetai
Voice: Jonathan Alexander
"Khyron is a Zentraedi wether he likes it or not!"
Commander Breetai was assigned the job of recapturing SDF-1 after its theft by Zentraedi working for Zor during an Invid attack in 1999. During that battle, Zor was killed and Dolza might have been too, if it wasn't for Breetai and his forces arriving when they did. This turned the tide of the battle, forcing the Invid into retreat. In this conflict, Breetai took a blow to the head this is now marked by his face plate that covers the wounds. Besides that, Breetai is a fair commander and does not let the Zentraedi bloodlust cloud his judgement in delicate matters. Although, he's been known to loose his cool and thrust himself into situations when he felt his anger was justified (Example: Running to the Docking Bay when Vermillion Squadron tried to rescue Lisa and then attack the Battloids with his bare fists and a pipe).
He follows his orders to the letter like a good Zentraedi and expects his troops to do so as well. However, he has been recalled from this mission twice due to his inability to get the job done quickly. First he was replaced with Korah and then with Azonia. But both these commanders failed the task, forcing Dolza to put Breetai back on the case.
Exedore
Voice: Unknown
"This is happening just as I expected! Khyron, sir, he is a commander totally without discipline!"
Exedore is Breetai's trusted advisor. A rare short Zentraedi, he prefers to use strategy over his own brawn. Unlike most Zentraedi, Exedore prefers to take a more logical, scientific look at a situation rather than just charging in guns-a-blazin'.
Aunt Lena
Voice: Unknown
"Doing business as usual could be the answer to a lot of problems."
Minmei's Aunt, she is co-owner of the Little White Dragon Chinese Restaurant. She's also Kyle's mother.
Uncle Max
Voice: Unknown
"Nothing's going to happen to someone was smart as Minmei, isn't that right?"
Minmei's Uncle, he is the husband of Lena, co-owner of the Little White Dragon, and father of Lynn-Kyle.
Jack "Pop" Hunter
Voice: None
No Quote Available
Rick's deceased father.
Captain Kramer
Voice: Unknown
"Roger, Commander!"
Roy's wingman and second in command.
Dr. Emil Lang
Voice: Unknown
"The main problem is that until the modular transformation is completed, the Main Gun simply cannot be fired."
Chief Engineer of SDF-1, Dr. Lang was one of the first humans to set foot aboard the great ship. During that first expedition, Dr. Lang tinkered with a computer terminal only to be zapped by it. In the after math, Lang's eyes were turned black, like a Grey Alien's. However, the shock also gave Lang an insight into the ship's inner workings that would speed up the reverse engineering process that would have normally taken many more years than the initial ten in order to get the ship functional once more. Unfortunately, despite this, many of the ship's secrets and mysteries remain just that. Yet, even so, Lang's seemingly intuitive insight would prove useful on the ship's journey as would develop new inventions and make new discoveries to aid the situation.
Khyron
Voice: Greg Snow
"I... HATE... TO... LOSE... A... FIGHT!!! But I'll be back and next time I'll win! Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!"
Captain of the 7th Mechanized Division of the Botoru Fleet, Khyron is one of the most vicious if not the most crazed of all Zentreadi. Nursing an addiction to the Invid Flower of Life and a drinking problem, he has a rather bad temper and likes to do things his way. Which usually involves killing everything in sight. He has a reputation among the Zentreadi Forces for sometimes even gunning down his own men in the heat of combat or just as punishment. This behavior has earned him the nickname, "The Backstabber." Assigned to assist Breetai's forces in capturing the SDF-1, he has found himself restrained by the will of Breetai who wants him to do as he says and not go out on his own. But Khyron has a habit of ignoring direct orders and doing what he wants. While Breetai is under orders to simply capture SDF-1, orders which Khyron is to follow as well, Khyron only wishes to destroy the Fortress and the Micronians inside who have made him feel the shame of defeat.
Grel
Voice: Unknown
"Ha! We crashed into four ships total! You thought it'd only be three at the most! I win the bet!"
Khyron's Second in Command, he's a little bit excitable and a lot more rational then Khyron, but he never questions him. He follows his orders and is loyal to the end.
Karl Riber
Voice: Unknown
"Yeah... I may be a soldier, but I just can't take all this fighting."
Lisa's ex-fiancee, Karl was something of a pacifist but still became a soldier in the Global War (Was he drafted?). He hated fighting and put in for a transfer to the observation post, Sara Base on Mars. This meant that he would be seperated from Lisa for a while, but Lisa decided that if she could join the army, she could follow him to Sara Base. However, shortly after her entrance in the Academy, Sara Base came under fire and was drawn into the war. The base was ravaged and few escaped alive. Karl Riber becamed unaccounted for was marked as an MIA. When SDF-1 landed on Mars, it was Lisa's hope that Karl was still alive, but alas... Karl is dead.
Max Sterling
Voice: Jimmy Flinders
"Hey, these characters are really playing for keeps, Lieutenant. Ah, do we have battle plan for this sort of situation?"
The unorthidox ace of SDF-1, Max's speed and skill is unmatched by any other RDF pilot. However, while occasionally cocky, Max is actually very humble and doesn't have much of an ego. He also has a quick wit but despite his coolness in combat, he gets a little weak around women. His career started with basic training test that showed off his superior ability. However, it wasn't till SDF-1's meeting with Korah's fleet in orbit around Jupiter, that Max got his first taste of battle. Eventually, Roy assigned him to Rick's Vermillion Squadron. Although Rick wasn't having fun with the idea of babysitting a cadet like Max, it didn't take long for Rick to find out about the ace himself. However... While, Max, humble as he may be, is pretty much the ace of SDF-1... There is another ace out there, who would challenge him to the death...
Ben Dixon
Voice: Unknown
"I'm honored to be serving under your command, Lieutenant Hunter! Corporal Ben Dixon reporting! And while I'm around, I assure you nothing will go wrong! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!"
A member of Rick's Vermillion Squadron, Ben talks big, eats big, but is less then average pilot, despite his Class A rating. Hotheaded and not too bright, Rick usually has to save him from the Zentraedi.
Rico, Bron, and Konda
Voice: Axel Roberts - Rico, Unknown - Bron, Unknown - Konda
Konda: They were wearing these little military costumes...
Rico: And looking at them gave me this funny feeling I can't explain...
Bron: I still believe they were, uh-
Rico: You see, Sir, Bron here believes that they just might be weapons.
Konda: They're not weapons.
Rico: Well, what do you think they are?
Three recon specialists from Breetai's Fleet, they were sent out find out what the deal was with the strange transmissions (The Miss Macross Pagaent) eminating from SDF-1. They were VERY unprepared for the sight of many young girls on stage wearing short revealing things. The entire ordeal left them very confused and shaken as they soon began break free from the bounds of Zentraedi life and became obssessed with Human culture. Particularly, Minmei.
Jan Morris
Voice: Unknown
"Oh, would you stop? This is hardly Hollywood!"
Popular movie star caught in SDF-1's fold incident at Macross City. Ran in the Miss Macross Beauty Pagent as a way of maintaning her career aboard ship but lost to one Lynn-Minmei.
Dolza/Beldolza
Voice: Mike L. Reynolds
"I fear the Micronians have indeed discovered Protoculture..."
The Commander-in-Chief of the Zentraedi forces, he answers to the Robotech Masters and waits for Breetai to find lost the SDF-1. Tried to protect Zor during an Invid attack but failed leading to Zor's subsequent death. Rescued by Breetai on that occasion.
Maximillian "Wulf" Focke
Voice: None
"Time for the "New World Order" to take my demands seriously!"
Born in Silesia in 1967, he was a Mig-29 pilot for East Germany and is Roy Fokker's mentor. A top ace with many honors and a masterful instructor, he had 107 victories in the last war. He was shot down in 2006 while covering Roy in battle. He was hospitalized after this crash but one day mysteriously checked himself out and disapeared. Now, Focke's returned and turned against the RDF and the UEDC for unclear reasons. In his fight, he utilizes a prototype Fighter-Guardian called the Blue Max and uses it to wreak havoc on RDF forces. Eventually he requests a dual against Roy forcing him and Lisa Hayes to lead a battle against Focke using the RDF's own prototype Fighter-Guardians called Tigercats. What are Focke's reasons for fighting against the RDF and Roy? He wants revenge on Roy for the death of his daugther, Anastasia. Though she was shot down as a fighter pilot, he blames Roy for encouraging her to fly.
Deanna Rand
Voice: None
"I know nothing! I see nothing!"

Kohrah
Voice: None
"You see the truth now, don't you, Micronians..."
After Breetai's loss at Saturn, Kohrah was assigned to bring back the SDF-1. Kohrah, however, commands no ordinary Zentraedi fleet... He commands the most elite of the Zentraedi forces, a force that once protect the Robotech Masters themselves, though now reassigned to bring back SDF-1. This force was so trusted to protected the Robotech Masters, that the Masters granted them technologies not available to the rest of the Zentraedi. Mainly cloaking devices and deflector shields strong enough to protect against SDF-1's Main Gun. However, despite all this, Kohrah died attempting to disable SDF-1 by trapping it in a gravity well and then trying to destroy its Gravity Control System. While it isn't clear who bagged Kohrah (Max or Roy), his death coupled with SDF-1's slingshotting clear of the his fleet ended his plans thoroughly and thus allowing Breetai and Khyron's cat and mouse game with SDF-1 for a long time to come.

In the episode, Blind Game, the data on Lisa's computer screen in the scene right after Khyron's attack on the Sensor Array is actually the old 1970s Star Trek Computer Game! A program created by an unknown programmer in the late 70s, at the birth of home computing, exchanged through early modems that allowed many a lucky Trekkie (to have a computer) to command the Enterprise against the Klingons!
