Nakagoboshi

This info was graciously provided by Priya/Kristi and comes from their Nakago page.

Nakagoboshi, since it contained the bright red star Antares, naturally stands for the heart of Seiryuu, and is also associated with fire. It stood for the Son of Heaven- which was man, since man was the heart of heaven and earth. Since Nakagoboshi rose in early spring, it stood for renewal and life, and princes should be kind to their subjects while this star was rising. Nakagoboshi is actually three stars, and depending on which of the other two stars is brighter, either the royal prince or the concubine's son would be predicted to inherit the throne.

More Info (This too comes from Kristi from the book "Stars of Jade" by Julius Staal.) Ironically enough, given the way Nakago acts in the series, Antares, the star that Nakagoboshi is associated with containes two words. "Anti" and "Ares". Ares was the ancient Greek God of War, and also the Greek name for Mars. Antares, essentially means "Opponent of Ares/Mars," because Mars was also red in color, and when Mars passed close toAntares, it was almost as if the two reds rivaled each other in the sky. So, the Chinese also called Nakagoboshi, the House of Mars, the planet of fire, passing the Great Fire. Strange that Nakagoboshi would be called "Opponent of War," ne?
