Introduction
At first, Ameria sort of got on my nerves. It was her dub voice that really got me, to tell you the truth, not her personality. It wasn't until I went to get the fifth Slayers video dubbed and ended up getting it subtitled because dubbed was out of stock did I really begin to admire Ameria, because I didn't have that scratchy voice from hell to distract me >_<. Most people have also admitted feeling the same way, and others had the problem of reading badly written fanfics beforehand and coming into the series expecting to hate Ameria. Whatever the reason, there are an extraordinary amount of people who really do not like that girl. They simply refuse to look past Ameria's bad points and see the good in her. I decided that we really need a list that brings Ameria's good points into the light and gives reason to defend her; people have already acknowledged her bad ones.

1. Her selfless attitude.
Ameria is not a selfish person; you can't deny that. It's her dream to save others, to show them the glory of justice. How many times has she jumped in front of Zelgadiss to save him from danger, or agreed to help a perfect stranger (I had Hallas from original Slayers in mind here)? While it's true, Ameria isn't a perfect saint in this aspect, no one's perfect. Also, remember in NEXT when Xellos and Ameria won the Brass Racquet compitition? Zelgadiss was so sure that Xellos is going to keep the Clair Bible trophy for himself, but the first thing Ameria does is hand Zelgadiss the prize. One would almost expect Ameria to be a bit stuck up, after all, she is a princess. But I have never seen her use her status as princess of Saillune for personal gain. She only has brought up the fact that she is a princess to visit Tarimu and that other dude in prison and to get into her castle at Saillune to see her (supposedly dead) father.

2. Her perseverance.
Ameria is not one to give up easily, this much is seen in her first episodes. Think back to episode 12 where Ameria begins to see the possibilties of knowing the Dragon Slave. Lina, being a bit put off by the idea, puts Ameria through a series of excersizes and tests in hope of discouraging her. But Ameria never gives up, even to the point of having giant boulders thrown on her.

3. Her cheerfullness.
Let me explain a bit: I mean her cheerfullness in spite of everything that's happened to her. If the rumor is true, Ameria's mother was actually brutally murdered in front of her eyes. Whether this is true or not, I haven't seen her mother anywhere, have you? Not to mention her sister Gracia ran away leaving her with the responsibility of being crown princess of Saillune. And with all these pointless power-stuggles going on around her, it's a wonder she's as cheerful as she is. Always going out of her way to cheer up everyone and such...its proof of:

4. Her strength.
And I mean mentally and physically. There's the strain of having such a terrible past and family life, and she's just really really strong. I mean, come on, how many of you can stand having giant boulders thrown on you, and then crush them with your bare hands?

5. And finally, in my opinion, her beauty and and all-around kawaii-ness
Yes, I can see those Ameria-bashers rioting already ^_^ I suppose it's just a matter of opinion, just like how I can't see how those hoards of people see the extreme coolness of Zelgadiss. I agree, the guy has his moments, but really, he's selfish, inconsiderate of others feeling, and totally uninteresting. But...this is besides the point. Ameria is cute in her own way, and if you spent less time bashing her for her bad points and paying more attention to her good ones, then maybe you'll see that.
