She likes Zelgadiss.
Oh please. Does this mean I should hate everyone who likes Zelgadiss also? That would leave me hating a lot of people (maz included). Sadly though, this seems to be the most used reason of Ameria-haters. Why, does it just bother them that they won't get Zelgadiss themselves? Sorry to break it to you kids, but Zelgadiss is an anime character. He's not going to fall head-over-heels for you anytime soon. And besides, it shows that Ameria has good taste in guys ^.~
She hangs all over Zelgadiss.
I've heard this reason all over the place, and all I have to say is, why? I've never seen her hanging all over Zelgadiss yet, and I've seen all of Slayers except for the last four episodes in Slayers TRY. So Ameria has four episodes to start hanging all over Zelgadiss and I'll believe it (but seriously, I very much doubt that she will).
She's a crybaby.
In the first series, Ameria tends to be a bit whiney, I'll admit. This seems to bother some people more than others, and that screechy American voice actress doesn't help much. As the series progresses, Maz and I have noticed that she matures A LOT. She's a lot more confidant and her clumsiness seems to have died down some too in Slayers NEXT and more so in Slayers TRY.
She never thinks for herself.
Let's look at Ameria's personality for a second shall we? Notice that everyone she looks up to (Phil, Lina) she tries to imitate. Phil is a huge justice-fanatic, and has an obsession with justice speeches. Remind you of anyone? It's in her personality to imitate those people she looks up to. She can think for herself, and does. It's just that her choices are highly influenced by those she looks up to. It's in her personality. And if you don't like it, well tough.
Her obsession with justice is ANNOYING!
I suppose the arguments about her elaborate justice speeches and tendency to fall out of trees falls under this category. Yes, I understand she's a bit a of a klutz and should stay off of high places, but it's just so dramatic to her. And fer God's sake people, its comedy! Maybe you should check to see if you still have a sense of humor. And for my explanation on her obsession with justice, see the reason above.
She sounds like nails scraping against a chalkboard.
Yikes! Even I have to agree with that one. Another reason why dubs are never as good as the original. As for her Japanese voice, it's much better, don't you agree? It's a lot calmer. Ameria isn't always hyperactive; she calms down a lot when she isn't giving a justice speech or yelling at someone.
Her large breasts are annoying!
I can't believe I actually saw this reason somewhere O_o This person must really hate Naga A LOT if large breasts are annoying. It seems like an incredibly lame reason to hate someone, but what do I know? Maybe the person was just jealous ^_~
The child is obsessed with her father! What a freak!
She actually has a pretty good reason to be so obsessed with her dad. When Ameria was young, there's a rumor that says her mother was killed in a brutal way before her. Whether it's true or not, I certainly haven't seen much of her mother in the series, have you? Her older sister Gracia also ran away from home, so her father is pretty much all she has. Obviously, her father means a lot to her, and shes probably scared to lose him, like she lost her mother and sister. She also has a tendancy to show her love very openly, like her father does. Make sense? I hope so.
I think that covers most of the reasons why people hate Ameria. If you think you have a good argument, then by all means, enlighten me. I'd love to add more pathetic reasons to my lil list.
