Company Policy


I.  Rules and Regulations

  1. RULE #1:  HAVE FUN!!!  Remember this is ONLY a game.  Virtual Aloha Airlines believes in having a fun and educational experience in your flight simulation gaming.  Please DO NOT take things too seriously as a VIRTUAL PILOT for Virtual Aloha.

  2. Online ATC:  It is suggested but not required  that Virtual Aloha Airlines Pilots register with VATSIM.NET or IVAO.ORG for Online ATC flight using squawkbox and/or Roger Wilco.  Both are available from links at the home page of the Virtual Aloha Airlines site.  (a).  10 Hours will be credited to pilots for registering with Vatsim.Net or IVAO.Org.  (10 Hours per Online ATC organization registered with.  ie. Vatsim.Net = 10, IVAO.Org = 10; 10 X 2  = 20 hours)  To get credit for online ATC registration you must e-mail your VATSIM and/or IVAO PID to VirtualAloha@AOL.Com 

  3. Forums:  NO MESSAGE BOARD GAMES!  Please do not leave messages on the Virtual Aloha Forum that would be distasteful in anyway.  We believe Virtual Aloha Employees are a class act and should act accordingly.  Refer to Rule Number 1.

  4. NOTAMS:  Please check for NOTAMS (Notice to all airmen) at the message forum occasionally for news regarding operations and safety within the aviation community.  If you have any news, messages, questions or safety concerns, please leave a message on the forum for others who may assist you.  Or you can contact the Virtual Aloha Management Team at VirtualAloha@AOL.Com

  5. Active Roster Requirements:  Virtual Aloha Airlines requires a minimum of one (1) PIREP (Pilot Report) Form filed with one (1) round trip flight or two (2) legs per month to stay on the active roster.  The bare minimum is one round trip between Honolulu and Lihue per month. All available flights may be found at the operations area of the Virtual Aloha Airlines Site.

  6. Flight Types:  Flights may be done ONLINE at the Microsoft Zone, IVAO.Org, Vatsim.Net or IP game OR maybe done OFFLINE.

  7. Type Certifications, Training and Exams:  Temporarily VoidCheck Rides will be performed via e-mailed recordings or online at the Microsoft zone or IP game.   Written tests may be required for certain qualifications.  Required tests, check ride qualifications and instructions will be available at the Training Center.

  8. Special Qualifications:  80% or better passing of the ETOPS (Extended Twin Engine Operations) Flight Qualification written test and check ride is required before extended over-seas flight hours may be credited.

  9. Flight speeds:  Flights should be performed at normal speed for Inter-Island flights, however, over-seas ETOPS with GPS may use any speed up until 50 Miles out from destination airport.

  10. Charter Flight Bidding will be awarded by seniority.  Available charter flight bids, open and close dates will be posted on the news page of the site and the message forum.  Bid award assignments will be given out a maximum of one (1) week after closing date of the bids.

  11. Increase in rank will be given according to flight hours accrued per rank flight hours chart available on the roster page.  Seniority has NO bearing on rank for Virtual Aloha Airlines.

  12. Increased Flight Hours Program:  Pilots may receive added flight hours credited to their flight time for added qualifications and recruiting.  Creditable qualifications include, but are not limited to...

  1. Online Flight with VATSIM or IVAO ATC:  1.5 times the flight hours will be credited for flight with ONLINE ATC.

  2. ETOPS qualification:  This qualification is granted with an 80% or better passing of the ETOPS written exam. (1 flight hour for each correct answer, but a passing grade must be obtained to receive credit.)

  3. Aircraft Type qualification:  This qualification is granted after a Check Ride is recorded and e-mailed to VirtualAloha@AOL.Com or performed online in the presence of the VAH Flight Instructor or VAH Management Personnel. (10 flight hours for each Check Ride successfully completed, recorded and e-mailed to us.)

  4. ATVP Licensing:  This qualification is given when passing an accredited Flight School associated with Virtual Aloha Airlines.  (10 Hours for receiving your ATVP License.)

  5. Successful Challenge Flight:  Added hours may be credited for completion of the Monthly Challenge Flight.  A recording must be performed as stated in the Challenge and e-mailed to VirtualAloha@AOL.Com.  (Added Flight hours vary, read Challenge Flight for amount of hours creditable.)

  6. Recruiting:  10 hours will be credited for recruiting pilots to be added to the Virtual Aloha Roster.  The new recruit must name you in his application as well as stay active on the VAH Roster for a minimum of 1 month by filing the minimum required PIREPS as stated in Article 5 of the Company Policy.
