Jennifer's Thoughts on Gentle Mothering

Gentle mothering means everything that you mentioned in your statement of beliefs! It means that I must go to my son when he cries, not let him cry it out. I need to take care of his needs as soon as humanly possible because if I don't, who will? I was so happy to see your beliefs - FINALLY! Other people who feel the exact same way I do about mothering my child! Yes! :-)

Being a mother is a gift from God that is not to be taken lightly. If I ignore my son's cries he will only learn not to trust people. If he doesn't trust me to take care of his human needs, how will he trust that God will take care of his spiritual needs? That, to me, is why gentle mothering is so important!

God wants me to parent this way because that is exactly how God parents us! He made us in His image, so shouldn't we strive to be like Him? Does God ignore my cries? Never! So, why should I ignore my own child's cries?

Jennifer's Testimony

I was raised with a strong faith in Christ. I've always known Christ as my Lord and Savior, but, I did go through a period of darkness in my life when I was about 19 years old. One night that all changed.

I was at a really low point, I just wanted to die. Well, I got down on my knees next to my bed and asked God for help. I told him I couldn't do it without him and that I just felt so alone.

The next thing you know, I heard a voice that sounded like it was right behind me. It said, "I am here". I felt so much peace right at that moment. I just knew everything was going to be ok.

And it was, because I took Jesus into my life that night. My life has not been the same since!
