Krista's Thoughts on Gentle Mothering

Gentle mothering means love, meeting children's basic needs in a loving way, letting a child be a child - not expecting him to grow up too soon (i.e. not letting a baby "cry it out", etc), using "God's own infant formula" a.k.a. breastmilk :), etc...

Gentle mothering is important because with the increase in violence and disillusionment in children, it is important now to set such a gentle, nurturing example in our homes.

I feel God wants me to parent this way because it shows faithfulness and obedience. God has given us a great blessing and a great responsibility in raising our children. To heed God's will in parenting (and not the will of every "Dr. Such-and-So, Parenting Expert) can be tough at times. But, the reward is well worth it. :)

Krista's Testimony

I started attending church when I was in the third grade... But, I feel I was truly born again when I was 22 and pregnant with my son. My husband and were separated from each other (and from God's will) during the middle trimester of my pregnancy. When we got back together, we started attending church again.

The Holy Spirit moved me at that point in my life in ways beyond description. I knew that I was where I needed to be again, in my marriage and my walk with Christ.

I believe that I am saved, because I look on the world with new eyes. It's clearer to me when I stray from the path God has set for me. Even in my most frustrating days, I know that I have my Lord and Savior.

What could be better than that?:) Praise the Lord!!!
