The Louvre


The Louvre is indescribable. I was amazed at how much stuff they have. Anyway, with the PARIS Museum Pass (must get!) you can enter at any time. I find I get museumed out after about 2 hours so I broke my visit to the Louvre into two trips. One in the morning and one in the evening.

Photography is allowed but of course no flash or tripod. Here are a few that came out sort of okay. Enjoy...







What does it tell you that the most famous statue and famous painting in the world have as their subjects, women???

TRAVEL TIP

Check the museum schedule for what days they are closed and what nights they open late. I'm glad I checked! It would have been dreadful if I went to the Louvre on the day it was closed! Instead, I knew the day I went it opened late so that evening, I got to see the Mona Lisa with a very quiet and reverant band of maybe 8 people?!
