Welcome To Tesconair's Colorado Outdoors!

Hiking Information, Trail Reviews, Photos, and Poems

About This Site

But first, a little request...

Since I can't cover as much ground in Colorado as I would like, feel free to share your Colorado hiking experiences by sending an email providing a description, location, and driving directions to your favorite hiking trails as well as a few photos of the area, I'll post them on this site to share with other hikers. Especially important would be your personal experiences and feelings about the trails. Tell everyone your hiking stories! Email the information to tesconair@oocities.com. We'd really appreciate your help in building the Places page! I want this site to not be just about my hiking experiences, but a site by and for other Colorado hikers, with the widest variety of hikes and opinions possible.

Now a bit about us...

The creators of this web site were Randy and Mary Teschner, two Colorado residents and lovers of the outdoors. We've divorced, but are still friends. The picture to the right has been left because of the scenery and well, it just looks good. Randy is keeping the site up, but mostly so the kids can look back at their history. Randy is a high school history teacher and Mary is a technical support engineer.

Mary and Randy have five children between them. Mary has two boys, Justin (15), and Daniel (11). Randy has a daughter named Mariah (14) and a son named Cale (11), who live with their mother in Nevada most of the time. The youngest member of the family is Collin (6). Randy has an additional "adopted" daughter, Heather (18) that will be soon going off to college *sniff*.

On August 21, 1999 we found out that we were expecting with Collin! Mary was due April 26, 2000. Unfortunately, we had a lot of complications with the pregnancy and the doctors wanted to take the baby by C-section when Mary reached 34 - 36 weeks along. However, at almost 33 weeks, conditions in the uterus were declining rapidly. As a result, Collin was born March 7 at 7:52pm. He was remarkably healthy at birth and surprised us and all his doctors. He did have two inguinal hernias that were repaired by surgery. He came home on March 30 much to the joy of all! Check out his page here!

As I continue to explore the Rockies, climb peaks, get sun-burned, hike trails, wear holes in my boots, and test out hot springs, I will try and share with you all of these outdoor experiences, including some photographs from these trips. However, with all the time I dedicate to my children, this site will most likely just be an archive site, but I'd still like any input and incentive to keep it going.

Find out about some of Colorado's popular trails, mountains, and getaways. Since I have hiked with children many times, I will also be happy to rate which outdoor adventures can be enjoyed by the munchkins.

Places We Visited

Currently, there are only seven outdoors pages for your viewing. Hopefully, when I get more time, I will add to this and bring all the children's stuff up to date since the divorce. If you are an avid Colorado hiker, you can contribute to this website by email. Send your photos, trail locations, and directions to your favorite hiking places in Colorado, and I will happily post them to share with other hikers.

The Artsy-Fartsy Stuff

To keep your brains busy Mary created a bit of poetry and inspirational fluff for you to check out! She's pretty talented

We each also had our own personal pages.

Check out some of the Colorado hiking links that I've found valuable.

Where does the name Tesconair come from? It's the common mispronunciation of our last name. I adopted it for all my personal Internet accounts and business stuff.
