guys have a Best Director Poll on your site, but no where does it state who YOU
feel is the best American/English director of all-time. How about it guys, who's
your fave? Hey
Timmy...as far as American/English directors are concerned, we both agree that
Stanley Kubrick is our favorite. Other favorites of mine include Scorsese, Stone,
and Lynch. Marks favorite director of all-time is Swedish director Ingmar Bergman.

noticed many great films missing from your lists. Where is The Adventures of Robin
Hood? Where is Martin Scorsese's Mean Streets? One of you included The Birth of
a Nation, but why include D.W. Griffith's rascist and overlong film when you could
have Intolerance, Broken Blossoms, or Way Down East, which are much superior films
of his? Where is Blade Runner? Where is Midnight Cowboy, another brilliant film?
Or The Night of the Hunter? You also need to put Jacques Tourneur's film noir
Out of the Past and George Cuckor's A Star is Born. There are a number of other
movies I would recommend you put on the list, but, of course, you don't need to.
I'm figuring you haven't seen any of these films, I'm basically just recommending
them. I have to applaud you on many of your choices, where are much better than
many other top 100 lists, although I could tell you didn't understand some of
the films you put on your list, such as A Clockwork Orange, which Kubrick never
really intended to be disturbing. By the way, I put my own top 100 list on here,
be sure to look at it and e-mail me with your thoughts. Great web site
 Hey
Kip...thanks for the compliments and suggestions. I have seen most of the films
you suggested here, but they simply didn't make my list (the directors cut of
Blade Runner is amazing). I have to agree with my brother that regardless of what
Kubrick intended, A Clockwork Orange is a very disturbing film. Sure it
is satirical social commentary, but you have to admit the gang rapes were pretty
damn unsettling. Excellent list by the way (click here),
I'll e-mail you soon with more input. (AC 7/13/01)

no order and without dates- I only included 50 because I haven't seen a lot of
films yet including the Wild Bunch. I am starting to seriously watch films amd
collect information on them. But I am only going to watch 3 a month and maybe
one repeat so I can remember them. So it would take about 5-10 years for this
list to be closer to accurate. Even though I think some of these films have flaws,
all of them pass the main test: I could watch them over and over.

fim as well let me know any thing about him-and what he did think of his time
in it as he is now gone like so many others who knew what the case was all about
I was involed in it quite a bit when the film frist came out again but very sadly
not information has been fourth coming about any more about any thing more about
it since back in 1991 some of us are still trying to find out who killed Kennedy
indeed many of us stil care very much he was our president and will always be
so we have a right too know at last who did it and why indeed lets finally find
out. The
real New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison makes a very interesting cameo
in J.F.K., as the late Chief Justice Earl Warren. It is ironic that Oliver Stone
would have him play the part of Warren, because Garrison spent most of his adult
life attempting to discredit him. As far as the posters are concerned, perhaps

   Great
choices Jon... one film I was not familiar with is Left Luggage. For those interested
as well the plot summary I found on the internet site IMDB
reads as follows: Chaja is a philosophy student in Antwerp, 1972. She takes a
job as a nanny with the Kalman family. Although she first wants to quit because
she doesn't like their strict-Jewish (Chassidic) rules, she decides against it
because she starts to like the 4 year old boy of the family (later she will even
admit to have fallen in love with him). In the meantime her father is looking
for the place where he buried two suitcases when he was a refugee during the war.
