Review: Jack Nicholson (One flew over the Cuckoos Nest, Five Easy Pieces, The Last Detail, The Shining, Chinatown) is at the top of his craft as usual in this witty comedy. Nicholson is able to allow his characters vulnerability and desperation to show through his despicable and hardened exterior. The story itself involves Melvin's neighbor, an artist named Simon Nye (Greg Kinnear) who surprised me and I believe many others with his fine acting as well. Unlike many comedies, this film combines some drama as well and makes for a very entertaining movie. -Review by Aaron Caldwell
