Review:
Director
Sam Raimi, of Evil Dead II fame, came through here
in a well thought out and highly suspenseful movie. The story is as bleak and
as chilling as it's cold winter setting. We are drawn in to the story because
Bill Paxton's Hank is an average guy who many can identify with. Billy Bob Thornton
(Sling Blade) steals the show however as Hank's dimwitted brother Jacob.
While Jacob comes across as slow and non-threatning, he's a little smarter than
he first appears which makes for a very intriguing character. The third man in
this thriller is Brent Briscoe (Lou), who is terrific as the drunken and volatile
hillbilly. -Review by Aaron Caldwell
