Presents - Beat Poetry Night
The Beat
Hep and happening the ones in black talk back. Amid the smoke and percussive
bass beats the gone generation meet the Parisian chic to mix beat and verse
libre improvising around all the revolutionary writers at on fell swoon.
Get organic with Ade Spen'low, Gothic Moll and the GSmith Combo
October 22nd 8 pm. Admission £4.
With special guests from Rimbaud to Whitman - Baudelaire to Koch - Plath
to Ginsberg.
I was thrilled when writer Helen Sant came up with this idea and even more
so when Gramey dived in with plans to be the bass beat. I am a strong believer
in synchronicity; I live my life by it. This was synchronous with my falling
in love with Baudelaire and Rimbaud too. So the combination of beat with
vers libre seemed a natural step. You will of course be expected to drink
absinthe. You might experiment with changing your sexuality too. Beware
or be square and drink up.
You may have suggestions of pieces, you the reader, in fact you may want
to offer to read a piece. Hey dude you is the chick babes.
