Gothic Molly - Helen Sant (Equity name Rose Bramwell)
Helen
is the creator behind Molly's Ghost Stories, (formerly Phantom Footsteps.)
Helen has been stage acting since 1995, a one-time tour guide at York Dungeon
and a locally published writer. She has been interested in tarot since 1989
and her approach is entirely ethical and sensitive. She is not, however,
a medium or ghost-hunter.
Molly's
Story - Born in 1432 as Molly Turnpike.
Marrying
unhappily to a cruel weaver, Josiah Micklethwaite, Molly later rebels.
Her extra-marital dalliances unfairly earn her the nickname the "Devil's
Mistress".
In Medieval times the common practice for spouses who strayed was for them
to be whipped three times round the church and the market-place. Molly is
punished in such a way and meets an eccentric nobleman who rescues her and
employs her in his household as a domestic servant.
Molly annuls her marriage on the grounds of her drunken husband's impotence(as
was Medieval practice). She becomes the nobleman's assistant in his experiments
with alchemy and the psychic world. However, all good things come to an
end and when Molly discovers the nobleman's dabblings with the dark side,
she flees the household.
She must tell her tales to all who will listen, as a storyteller of York,
and a shadow of an ancient world.
