NARRATION (08/31/00):
Zhan making some great hits kills his unknown that came after him. He see's Lestat in a toe to toe match with just one sword against a unknown it seems to be even for now. He also see's two BF's on the child boy Rowin. Ali take a sever blow to the back, a
d a unknown attacking Blackstaff.
Blythe takes down the BBF with another leg shot. The unknown then steps around Ursula and kills the BBF.
Rowin gets his kick in on the BF. The BF gets a hit in also. (1 point of damage) You still have him on you.
Seena cracks the knee of one BF then side stepping him, kicks him in the butt and sends him sprawling into the other BF and they both crash in the wall.
Jaelin at times makes it look to easy. Sending her magical darts flying to the unknown that is coming for Ali and blockes the blow that her own unknown tries to land.
Ali with her back turned and her not hearing the warning feels the pain. The unknown slashes his sword down her back doing 24 points of damage (natural 20)
Puck with his hold person still working makes his way to Galen and heals him for 3 points. It's a good thing that Galen was watching to stop the blow at Pucks head from a BF that jumped over the bar.
Ophielia seeing Ali take such a blow sends a rush of wind that knocks the unknown up against the wall then he falls over the handrail of the stairs crashing on to a table.
Blackstaff and Lestat are holding thier own in the fights that they are in.
Ursula:
As she watches the unknown finish off the Big Black Feather dropped by Blythe, the former gladiator gives a nod to show her appreciation for the assist before turning her attention to the nearest Black Feather. Her eyes sparkelled with glee as she strode
ver, tapped him on the shoulder and just battered him with a vicious combination of punchs (natural 20; 8+3= 11, a near-miss; and 19+3= 22. Dmg: 22 and 9 pts. respectively.)with cesti-covered fists.
Puck:
Puck sees the wounds start to heal on Galen, but sees that he is still in rough shape. "Galen, keep that guy occupied and give me just a few more seconds." The halflings hands glow as he casts a Cure Moderate Wounds spell (healing 11 points). At that, the
halfling nods with grim satisfaction and gets his flail ready to aid Galen.
Zhan:
I kill the unknown and watch, when without warning, a BF slices down Ali's back and I see that Rowin has a couple BF's on him also. Most everybody else is holding their own. I yell for Jaelin to tell her that Ali has been hurt and I run to her to see if I
can help her. I keep watch on Rowin to make sure that he is still keeping up with the BF's that are attacking him. If Jaelin finishes off her BF and unknown and can come to help Ali, I will then go to aid Rowin with his two BF's...
Blythe:
Looking at the unknown, unsure whether or not to take his help as a gift or wondering whether if there is something else to be gained from this. I scrutinize the fallen BBF, to see if he is carrying soemthing of importance. "Ursula, I'm not sure about thi
guy (pointing with my knife in the direction of the unknown), Why are his allies attacking us (pointing at Ali) and nearly killing one of us. I think there is something more to this encounter with the Black Feathers". Taking my chances, I attack the unknown with my knives; slashing twice at legs(21 & 6; 1 hit dam=5 hp & 1 miss) and stepping back & throwing one knife at the unknowns upper body(18 if hit dam=5) I step back (pulling out another knife from its sheath) starring at the unknown with a look of uncertainty, of whether I made the right choice in attacking him.
Galen:
"My thanks Puck" As I'm watching the BF that tried to hit Puck and readying my next blow. I take another stab with my main-gauche at the BF.
Blythe:
I make my way over to Puck & Galen, dodging through the tables (under neath), to help cover Puck while he heals anyone, or if he needs to cast anymore spells.
Seena:
Seena give the fallen BFs a half grin and goes over to help Rowin.
Rowin:
When he sees that the 2 Bfs on him have not gone down, he draws his sai's and stabs each one, and hopes the blows hit. He sees Seena coming.
Seena:
When Seena gets over to Rowin she brings her nunchuckas up and takes a swing at 1 of the BFs on Rowin, trying to take him out.
Ursula:
If her foe has fallen and there is no other foe near her, the ex-gladiator will make her way over to where her sword-brothers and sisters are gathering and face away from them to look out at the enemy as they approach.
Jaelin:
Jaelin sees the commotion around her, taking in everyone's positions. With barely a split second (though it seemed like weeks), she flies up the stairs at the unknown who just almost cut Ali in half. The unknown slams up against the wall from the blast
f wind of Ophelia, tumbling down to the tables below, and Jaelin's sword follows quickly behind. With a leap over to the table that the unknown is sprawled upon, Jaelin slams her sword ferociously into the unknown, her violet eyes blazing in a face set l
ke stone. Vengeance makes her strikes less graceful, though the fluid lethalness of them is readily apparent. (Rolled 18,19=2 hits; Dmg: 7+2,6+2=17 pts dmg)
NARRATION (09/19/00):
When the fight in the bar starts going to the side of the good guys, yet one more person appears in the room. This person is standing at the top of the stairs. She is dressed in a dark brown robe, there are no weapons that are seen. She says something in
tongue that none can understand. A white hole then appears on the wall across from her, starting at the floor. It is about 10 feet in diameter. What is left of the unknowns leap into the hole. The woman leaps from the stairs to just in front of the hole
She smiles, and behind her in the hole you can see a small pond and a figure working a small garden. The unknowns now appear in the picture and are making their way to the figure. The woman then starts to step through the portal. Ophelia screams NO! and runs
for the portal, diving into it just as it closes. There is nothing there but a wall now. The BF's all run out the door. There are 4 dead bf's, the dead bbf and three dead unknowns. Two things hit you really hard: One is that the woman that made the portal
was elven. The next is that the dead unknowns around you are also elven.
Blythe:
I check on everyone in the room (our Group), " Now I wonder where Ophelia has gone to, this can't be good for her to have jumped in after those people." I make my way over to the Big Black Feather, and remove his ear ring of feathers, "Well, it looks like I got your earring after all (said with a mischieviuos smile)." I begin to look through his items, for keepsake; for any weapons, money, or any other items of importance. I also make sure I have a collection of all the representing ranks of feathered earrings. I go and check on Ursula," Well I guess I shouldn't have started that fight, but maybe we will have some clues to follow, would you like to go with me to purchase some more traveling gear?" I walk around picking up my marbles and my knives that were thrown.
Rowin:
I run over to the wall that had the portal on it and feel the wall to see if any evidence of the portal was left. Then I yelled"Where are you!!!"
Ursula:
After watching the others go about their actions, Ursula will head over to Blackstaff and stand before him. "Who in Baator was that? Why did the druid lady go after them like that? Where did all of these elves come from?" She looks from him to Jaelin and
he others, especially Lestat. "Can anyone tell me anything?"
Galen:
I am still sitting behind the bar, not wanting to get up. "Puck can you fix my shoulder. Next time I start to jump onto a bar stop me okay, Puck." I chuckle.
Jaelin:
Jaelin shrugs her shoulders to Ursula's question. "Don't have a clue, and it leaves us in a lurch, since she was the one leading this little expedition into the wilderness."
Blythe:
I check on Galen and Puck, "Very impressive work Puck on healing up Galen, and Galen I don't think I've ever seen a move quite like that before, or have I ever heard of anyone take a hit like that and survive, I'm very impressed." "Bar Man, I would like t
pay for our tab and buy my friends a round of drinks." After I get my drink and take the other members their drinks, I walk to the door and look up and down the street, to see if I can notice any shops nearby, not to mention I want to be a look out for any militia coming towards the tavern.
Zhan:
I watch as Ophelia jumps throught the portal. I wonder why, as she would not leave our party for any good reason, let alone without help from us. I look at all the elves about the room and wonder what kind of magic has been used on us that we would slay our own brethren. I look to Jaelin and hear her tell Ursula that she has no answers either. I take a seat at the table again, and as if nothing has happened, I tell the maiden to bring me an ale, as there is nothing to do at this moment except ponder the situation and figure out what we are going to do now...
NARRATION (10/09/00):
As everything calms down in the bar, Blackstaff walks over and heals all the folks that need it, including himself. He then sits down at the table.
Blythe looking over the bodies finds a note on the big bf. He can not read it. He walks over to Blackstaff and hands it to him. He looks over it for a moment. Then he starts to read. "It's written in the old text of elves. I don't think that even you two could read it.", pointing to Lestat and Jaelin.
"In the times of old there was a group that walked the world. 'Death of the Land' was known as their name. All they wanted was to destroy the pure water wells. They sought to turn the water black. None knew of their race, just of their ways. All thought them to be elf, but how could this be. Elves love the land. Then it came, the death of Cormanthyr. They were there for this destruction. All was known to be lost until the fight in the House was waged. There, the Death met death. Yet the City of Glass was lost and so was the means to stop what was started. The time will come when the Death will rise again, due to the death of the pure water. It will come from a person that is a descendant of the 'Group of Death', and he will be..." Blackstaff sighs "it just stops there. I believe I know where Ophelia and the others went. It was a moonwell on the island (It will be north of the big island. Ed and Zinny dont check their e-mail when they're online, so I'll have the name later). Zhan, I believe that you are from here. Take them to your home and find a ship to take you to the island. There in the middle you will find what you are looking for. Stay here tonight. You should have two days until this person tries to turn the moonwell.
Seena:
So is that where she went? Are we going to find her there?I hope so.
Zhan:
When Blackstaff finished reading the note and tells me to take everyone to my home and find a ship to take us to the island, I am overjoyed to be able to go home again after so many years. I am also a little leary as to what I will find when I get there. But tomorrow, I will lead them to my home and ask father of a ship to take us to the island...
Galen:
After Blackstaff finshes the healing started by Puck, I nod to him my thanks. After scaning the room to see the waste of the events, I join the others. As I listen to his words I can't help but wonder WHY. I guess I'll have to ask them when next we meet, as I rub my shoulder. Then I catch the last part about the ship to the big island. Aw on a ship again, I lean back in the chair and smile.
Jaelin:
Jaelin surveys the scene around them (what's left of the bar, anyway), listening to Blackstaff read the note. She checks on Ali to make sure she's really recovered from the terrible back hit she took, then cocks her head over at Zhan. "Well Zhan, it seem
that we can take comfort that we'll be in territory familiar to you. Mayhap I'll begin to feel more comfortable there, as I've felt as though my feet were sliding out from under me ever since we started this quest."
Allistarra:
Allistarra, quietly asks, "Will someone arrange for a room? I feel faint." Her normally pale face, seems to be a masque of death now. She tries unsuccessfully to rise to her feet, her slend body wracked by a fit of coughing.
DM (10/14/00):
Welcome back Walker. Let's see about getting this thing going again. Someone find out where Puck is hiding or he'll get replaced.
The bar is a total wreck and the owner has closed the doors. He asks for your help in cleaning up seeing that it was your fault in the first place that it is like this. He also tells you that it will cost you 150 gp for the damages done. He mainly directs his comment to Ursla and Blythe. He says that your rooms have been ready all the while.
Rowin
As I check my wound I stand up. Then I look at the BFs armor. I see a hole in the armor. I check my sais to clean any blade off. Then I put them back.
Jaelin:
Jaelin quickly puts an arm under one of Alistarra's, hoisting her up. "Up you go..." She begins leading Ali up the stairs to the rooms, nodding pleasantly to the owner. "Good night all, we'll settle up in the morning." And with that, the ladies retire to their rooms for some much needed rest.
Allistarra:
As allistarra moves up the stairs with assistance from Jaelin, she whispers "Perhaps next time we can stay at a boarding house instead of an Inn. Without strong drink, (cough, cough) men are less likely to cause trouble such as this."
Seena:
Seena looks over at Jaelin."I wonder why Ali feels that way",she asks to no one."Hmmmmm"
Galen:
I have one last drink and I'll turn in.
Zhan:
Good night all. I do believe that I will stay and have another ale before turning in for the eve. I will see you all in the morning. I sit and contemplate going back to Lotune and seeing my parents. I am sure that dad will know of a ship that will take us
to the island. "Another Ale, barkeep, please", thoughts wandering at the moment...
NARRATION (11/23/00):
(DM'S NOTE: First off congrads to Don and Tamie on their new baby girl Carmen. I knew you could do it Don:) does this make me an uncle now?)
Ok, The party finds horses at the stables around the coner from the inn. Once again the fee has already been paid. It takes you about a week and half to get to Loutne. During this time Ali has the time to identify all the items that Blythe "found".
Th
items are 3 sets of gloves, long sword, 4 daggers, 100' of rope, 4 axes, 1 cloak, one ring and 2 scrolls from before. The gloves are one set Gloves of thievry,
2 sets of missile snaring. The ring is ring of faerie, the axes are all +1, the daggers are all +2, the cloak is a cloak of arachnidia, the two scrolls are protection from weapons magical and protection from weapons non magical. You guys figure out who ge
s what and e-mail me for what they do. You will find some of these in the Dm's book but they did not come from that book. They came from a much ealier book.
In Lutone the village hasn't changed that much. Zhan gets to see his folks and all is well. You catch the ship and make it to the island safe. It's fairly flat except for one plcae that has a hill surrounded by a forest. You make your way to the forest wh
n you come out into a opening. There is a clear pool in the middle of a 20' field. Surronding this field are two stone statue's one is of a male that you do not reconize. The other is Ophiliea, she is pointing to the pool. You make your way to the pool an
Ali finds Ophiliea staff sticking in the ground when she graps ahold of it a gate opens just in front of the pool. Lestat looks around "Well I think she wants us to go through." With that he steps through the gate.
When you come out the other side you see a small river behind you to the south. It's slow moving and as clear as drinking water. The forest in front of you is lush and green. There are tree's fallen over, all over the place and there are many places that
have been burned. Lestat is standing in front of a tree that has a sign on it hanging sideways. He draws out a dagger and stabs the sign leaving the dagger. He then draws both of his long swords and begins to walk with all caution down a trail. When you c
me up to the sign you see the name "Pkyal". With all of you standing there Jaelin walks up. "Oh no" she looks at Lestat and says very low. "He is home, I am near home Myth Drannor."
Galen:
Yes Donald it makes you an Uncle. Thanks......BIC>>>>As we find out what is what,"I would like the gloves of Theiery, cloak, and one healing potion from before. The daggers are nice but I am not skilled in that style." Once we get out on the high seas
ou see Galen is like a dwarf in a bar with FREE ale. He's up and down the riggings to the crowsnest to the ships wheel. He tries to talk each one of you in coming up to the crowsnest for the veiw, if not it your loss. His activities are taken just to t
e point of making the capt mad. After leaving the ship he behavior is a somber one, but not for longer. Then he's right back to his cheerful and anowing behavior you all love. Once we reach the pool he can only stare at its wonders, "A moonwell" slips
rom his lips. When Ali identies Ophiliea's staff he snaps out of his trance. As the gate open and Lestat goes through "Its a good day to die." and he steps through. Once on the other side he breaths easier. Seeing the action of Lestat and hearing the
ords of Jalien, He in turn draws his weapons and follows Lestat. "The day has just begun..............."
Blythe:
OOC.. Congratulations on your Baby Don & Tamie, I hope you have as much joy as my wife and I have with our Baby.
BIC.. "I would like to keep the daggers, Axes, and one set of the Gloves (missle snaring). If no one wants the ring I'll take it but I don't want to be greedy (smiling at the party). I also could use a new rope." I go and visit the crows nest with Galen,
nd talk about our pasts and maybe we have something in common. "Galen I noticed you are interested in the gloves of Thievery, I have soemwhat of an interest in this line of work as well; however, I never refer to it as Thievery, I like to use the word "fo
nd or aquire", I also use the word "borrow" (all said with a smirk). I follow the party, when we arrive at this place that Jaelin calls, Myth Drannor; "Jaelin, what about Ophelia, can we not help her? We can't just leave like a stone artwork, What about a
l the pigeons that are going to be near her (said with a shutter, looking on his shoulder and wiping his head as if something were on it). I hope you guys don't leave me in that predicament. I promise I will help out in anyway I can, I don;t want to be le
t like that (making an impression of a stone statue), I wonder if your arms get tired in one position like that. I walk to one side organizing my weapons (knives in various places, daggers around the belt towards the back, and hand axes on the side of the
belt). Taking two hand axes out one in each hand, I begin to feel there weight, and balance, spinning them in hand and tossing them up in the air, I take out the other two (using my juggling prof.) and begin to juggle. After I get the feeling I put 2 away
and turn to the party holding 2, " I guess I'm as ready as I'll ever be."
DM (11/23/00):
As Blythe juggles the axes he looks at a tree the axe goes fling and strikes the tree then in a flash is back in his hand once again. Happy Turkey Day
Jaelin:
Jaelin takes the longsword as offered before, thanking Blythe, trying it out on the ship's deck periodically to check it's balance and become used to it. She looks at the ring curiously, and states that she'll try it out if no one else wants it. She's p
rtial to rings, and doesn't have any. Jaelin spends much time on the ship alone, though she does venture up into the crow's nest with Galen, her spirit unable to resist the challenge. She finds it exhilirating, the wind ready to pick her up and fling he
into the waves. On a number of future occasions, he finds her up there by herself, just watching the horizon, lost in a mental tug-of-war. The party knows from small comments here and there that she is wrestling with her conscience, between the death o
elves at her hand against the ignorance she had of their true nature. It is a hard journey, but a necessary one she feels she must deal with before they reach land.
When they reach the pool, Jaelin stares at the statue, following it's pointing finger to the pool, then the gate that Lestat steps through. She offers to Blythe, "We haven't the skill to turn her back, not yet, and we mustn't let her suffering to leave t
is sign go to waste." She steps through the gate with the others, looking about her, a quizzical look on her face at the burnt spots around them in the verdant forest. Lestat's dagger hitting the sign catches her attention, and she moves forward, taking
a closer look. Her face noticeably pales realizing where they are. Both swords out in a barely visible flash, she fingers the hilts in an almost loving fashion for a moment and in an almost inaudible whisper, "We are in hell. And home. Pkyal was Lestat
s home, Myth Drannor mine. At the beginning of the Fall, Pkyal and one other village were attacked and burned." She stops for a moment as if the words are catching in her throat. "It was our warning that the Army of Darkness was coming. We couldn't hel
them in time. We couldn't help ourselves even with the warning. There were no survivors in the two villages." She looks toward Lestat's quickly disappearing back. "None they know of. Those days changed you in such a way that others wouldn't recogniz
you. Some things your body survives, but your mind does not." She follows Lestat, Galen and Blythe cautiously down the trail, putting Ali, Seena and Rowin in front of her. She and Zhan take the rear guard.
Allistarra:
Allistarra, walks over and takes the cloak and and one pair of the cloves of missile snaring. She then looks over the scrolls wondering if they are of a wizardly or priestly nature (not that it matters much in her case).
Galen:
Ali doesn't take the cloak out of my hands. "We all need to see what we can use the best. That cloak provides better for a person of stealth. So before we get to far this needs to be resolved."
Allistarra:
OOC: sorry galen, didn't see that you had taken the cloak. don't worry about it. Take it.
Zhan:
As everyone takes what they want from what was acquired, I watch and practice with my broadswords together. When we get to Lotune, I graciously greet my parents and my sisters, knowing that we must leave immediately, I promise that I will be back to see t
em for a much longer time. After settling into the island off the ship and seeing the moonwell and the statue, I have already drawn my broadswords and am ready for anything that may come along. I watch as one by one, the party goes through the portal and
follow, noticing Lestats and Jaelin's reaction to where we are. As the party moves along, I follow up in the rear with Jaelin...
Blythe:
Looking at his axe in astonishment, then placing them strategically on his belt. He looks at the rest of the party and follows as alert as he can be.
Zhan:
When we go onto the Inner Star, I still have my Broadswords drawn in the event there are unfriendly black feathers around somewhere. I look up at the Crows nest and decide to stay below and keep watch while the others climb up to look around. Nothing like
getting caught all at one time together with our backside barred to unfriendly foes. I look around at the part of the ship that I can see and keep watch, continually practicing with my swords...
Blythe:
I walk up to Galen, "You know and whisper,"You know your not he only one that knows about stealth, I know a little as well." Smiling from ear to ear. I look around to see where we are, does this place look familiar to me, I'm from the Shadowdale area at least not far (about 50 or so miles). I look around to see the rest of the groups mood.
NARRATION (12/14/00):
(DM'S Note: You are not on the ship.)
As you walk down the path you notice that the forest is quite lush. The trees go up for a hundred feet or better and it would take two to three men to reach around them. There is a small river running beside the path with crystal clear water. The are a f
w areas that the rocks have been placed in the river to make small pools. You come around a bend in the path and the site is unbelieveable. There is a small town "in" the trees, at least what was a town. The working of the homes and the shops, walkways, a
d bridges is just breathtaking. The other thing that is breath-taking are the bones that lay around on the ground hanging from the bridges and just scattered about all over the place. Some are crushed, some still have arrows stuck in their torn clothes. Y
u, at least the elves, can tell that they are all elvlen. The thing that comes to you in horror is that none, not a single one, has a weapon in the hand. In fact, by the look of the clothes and the things that are lying around they were having some kind o
celebration. Lestat is standing in front of a tree looking up at a house that is mostly gone. The tree is badly burnt. When all of you walk up you see that there are tears running down his face. He places a hand on the tree. In a soft voice. "It was col
that night, we all were getting ready for the Feast of the Moon. My mother wanted a dress for the feast. I worked real hard and got the money. I went to the dressmaker to buy it for her. They hit us all at once. We didn't have a chance. My dad and some o
hers were trying to fight them off but there was just too many of them. Then the flashes started and everything started blowing up. There were 600 of us. I ran, I ran as fast as I could to get home. I started up the tree when it hit. The whole tree went u
. I could hear her screaming, but I couldn't... I just.... I am the only one that..." in a whisper "I'm sorry. Jaelin get me out of here."
He starts to walk away when you hear some snorting coming from the bushes. Everyone scatters. A group of orcs comes out of the woods. Anyone standing with Lestat sees him tense up. When the orcs turn and start to go up the tree, it's more than Lestat can
ear. He runs out heading for them with both weapons drawn. Screaming "NOOOOOOO!!!"
(There are 20 orcs.)
Blythe:
I run towards Lestat, pulling out my knives taking aim on the first one heading towards us, unleashing 3 of my knives at him; then beginning to pull out 2 more knives. Looking up at Lestat, "We can take them (smiling).
Galen:
I listen to the story with all ears, to every word that touches my ear I grow more angry at the wrong that was done. And the only thing that snaps my thoughts is the sudden noise from the bush. I take cover to see the source, "Orcs great." My hands slides slowly to my darts, just as Lestat breaks cover. With the surprized looks from the orcs, I grad 3 darts and throw them at the nearest orc. Then I draw my blades and ready for combat.
Zhan:
As we walk through the forest, I look all around us and everything seems so serene as we walk. That is untill we go around the bend in the path and see the town in trees and the maliciousness that has occurred here. I can only try to feel the pain that you must feel Lestat, but I know that I cannot completely indulge in your pain, for I know not actually how you feel. I do feel sorry that this has happened and will help you avenge those that have done this. When the Orc's come out of the forest and LeStat
nd Galen start running towards them, I too begin to run, as I already have my swords out and am compelled to annihilate every Orc here...
Jaelin:
Jaelin puts an arm around Lestat's shoulder, and is trying to lead him away from the sight when the Orcs appear. She can't stop him as he wrenches free and goes screaming toward the Orc's, so she does the only thing she can. Her long swords out, she watches as the darts from the others go flying, then attacks the two Orcs nearest her.
NARRATION (01/25/01):
The fight with the orcs is very short lived. Thanks to the darts of Blythe. They not only land thier mark but they hit the leader of this pack. The rest of the orcs squeal and run in the woods.(tring to track them only leads to a dead end) Looking over the body does prove to be useful. You find a note that is wrote in a language you can not read. It is also written in common. "We have the last of them with us or should I say "stoned" with us. The master should be very happy. She was with a group, but they seemed harmless. We will proceed to the tomb and get it. Do not forsee any problems."
The note did have a seal on it and it is partly torn with smeared blood on it. While passing the note around Jaelin and Ali both notice something odd about it. Jaelin holds the note up and Ali passes her hand "through" the note. A map begins to form on the other side of the note. (SEE MAP PAGE) Lestat looks and says that the trail is not that far away and we could be there before dark. It takes a couple hours of hard walkin but you make it. You come around the bend in the trial and you see a small valley. In the bottom of the valley is a mound that just recently had a part of it "slide" off. As you walk down the valley and come up on the mound this is what you see.
Granite steps are chipped and broken in spots, no doubt the result of the slide that uncovered the entrance to the crypt. Two 20 foot tall stone statues flank both sides of a large rectangular landing at the top of the stairs. The statue on the left appears to have taken an assault from the slide, as one arm has broken off and now lies half buried in the dirt. The stone is craved to resemble an elf, female in flowing robes, wearing a crown and holding a staff in her right hand. You see that her left hand must have once been raised before her.
To the right, a warrior in plate mail stands silent vigil. his right arm is raised, and his hand grips a lucren hammer. A great helm covers his features, and the dull color of the rock makes him appear passionless. This statue apparently better shieled from the slide, there is nothing wrong with it.
Between the statues, imbedded into the mountain itself, you see a metal door. The falling sun reflects off it in burts and beams, forcing you to shade your eyes as you look at it.
Blythe:
I take out a knife, and approach the door slowly, beginning to scan for any traps or locks.
Alistarra:
Instantly recongnizing what she believes are guardian golems, Allistarra casts detect magic on the door and statues.
NARRATION (01/27/01):
Blythe at this time you find no traps. Ali you detect magic on the door and at the base of the satue of the woman. (MAKE SURE TO SEND ME ALL OF THE ROLLS THAT YOU MUST MAKE FOR NOW ON. THIS IS IN NO WAY A "Give Me" place.)
Alistarra:
Allistarra hurriedly speaks to the group. "Magic hangs over the door and these statues. There may be a trap here. Let us all be careful now."
Blythe:
I attempt to locate any traps around the statues (roll 51%,needed 30%; missed). I stand near Alistarra, with my knife still at the ready in hand, and my other hand on the hilt of another knife.
Galen:
I stand ready near Blyth. Eyes wandering between the two statues. Awaiting what is to come.
NARRATION (01/29/01):
(DM's Note: It would behoove you all to make sure and READ the narrations CAREFULLY. I did not say that the statues give off magic...I said the female statue gave off magic at the base. Moving right along...)
As you walk up to the metal doors, the silence is broken with what sounds like the soft mutterings of an old man. Runes and letters begin to appear on the door, igniting in a crackling electric blue energy. The azure fingers crawl over its metal surface and create a soft sapphire haze. "What, more visitors?" questions an old man's voice, which crackles above the glowing runes. "I had hoped to see the last of trespassers for a time. Considering what happened to the last group that was foolish enough to enter." With this, a low chuckle rumbles slowly from the metal doors. "Hrumph! I suppose you'll be wanting to gallivant all over the tomb as well, won't you? Well, sit down before the door and answer my question. Then, I'll let you in." As the word "in" echoes to nothing, a ragged melody reverberates from the door itself:
"Friends to the end! They once exclaimed,
Boasting of evils they once tamed.
Now they gaze in hate, friend now foe,
But hearts defy what minds now know.
Magic against steel,
Fate of a cruel deal,
A mirrored haze of friendships concealed.
Warrior's heart and wizard's soul,
Both fighting for the same goal.
Magic against steel,
Fate of a cruel deal,
A mirrored view of the end of the road.
The sheath called for it's sword,
Wizardly energy withdrew to where it was stored.
Together they gaze at the mighty door,
And their fury for one another
burned no more.
Now honor-bound and steadfast,
An oath sworn to last.
The bond of friendship reborn."
"There is more to this story than simple friendship," the old man's voice continues. "What did each realize that caused them to cease attacking each other?"
All is now quiet, with blue energy still crackling around the door.
Jaelin:
Jaelin promptly sits right on down as the voice speaks, more than happy to take a rest and get off her feet after traipsing around all over the place. When the voice finishes, she shrugs her shoulders to the group in general. "Don't have the damnedest idea. Any of you know of any fights like that? The only thing I can gather is that they finally figured out that working together would combine their strength rather than allowing it to be divided, but that's about as far as I get."
Alistarra:
Allistarra ponders for a moment, mumbling, "Its's all so vague."
"Well Jae, it could be that, or it may symbolize the cyclical nature of life. However, the battle does seem familiar to me, though the implications of this poem would be very scandalous indeed.
"You see, Corellian Larethian is typically viewed as a Warrior God, and Lolth as a sorcerous god. It is little known that Lolth was once known as Araushnee, and was Correllian's lover. There was a debacle involving Malar and Gruumsh One-Eye which initiated the fall of the drow, the battle of the Seldarine, the creation of Angraadh, the subsequent Crown Wars, and the Retreat. It is possible that this poem is a prophesy of sorts saying that Corellian and Araushnee shall once again come together. In which case I believe what brings them together is the immense sense of loss from several millenia of constant war, conquest and destruction."
Blythe:
Turning to the group," Idon't know much about the Elf history, but I was think somehting along the lines of marriage, love, you now relationships. You know also those two (pointing to the statues)look like the could be the two in the riddle, facing the door. What do you think?"
DM (01/31/01):
When Ali says the name Seldarine. The sword on the statue of the warrior glows bright and there is a click at the base of the woman statue.
Blythe:
Hearing the opening, I spin around, knives in hand. "Are you sure you want to go in there."
Zhan:
I too draw my broadswords after hearing the click of the statue. I have listened to Ali and Jaelin and know not what to expect. I will be ready for whatever comes our way.
Galen:
Listening to the riddle, I'm tring to understand. I ponder what has been said and still can't get it. But listening to Ali's history lesson, I understand a bit. But with the click from the statue I turn as to keep the door and the statue in sight. With hands upon my weapons.
Jaelin:
Jaelin stands with her sword in her hand, until she begins to feel a slight ache in her shoulder. Still looking about her expectantly at the others, she finally gives a rather ladylike snort. "Well, that's long enough, I dare say..." and walks over to the woman statue, looking around the base to see what made the click and if anything changed about it.
NARRATION (02/08/01):
Jaelin walks over to the statue. At the bottom is a small door open. There are three potions hanging from the door. There is a scroll in the base. She picks it up and opens it reading, "I see that it took you long enough. These will aid you. Have you ever been bitten and got sick? Have you ever gotten cut from a sword? Have you ever gotten sleepy at the wrong time? Then try the blue, red and green. Jaelin takes the 3 potions. The ground begin to shake some as the large metal door to the tomb opens. There is a rush of cold air that comes out, it gives you a chill to the very middle of your bones. As your eyes become accustomed to the dim light of the chamber, you see a 60 foot long corridor with a 10 foot high arched ceiling that leads into darkness beyond the door. The old man speaks one more time,"The answer was unity."
The hallway is oddly illuminated, and as you walk through the door you realize that the light is coming from reddish glowing balls that seem to be suspended in mid air above your heads.
Your eyes have barely adjusted to the low light in the room when you notice that the walls are lined with mosaic tiles that create two distinct scenes, one on either wall.
The mural on the north wall depicts a elvin army engaging shadowy foes while a halfing fights with them. The sky is a murky gray blue, pierced only by the emerald light of the halfings sword. The dead that litter the battlefield are ashen, and even the plants on the field of battle seem colorless.
The mural on the southern wall depicts the same battle, but you sense that it is different from the other, before you can tell exactly what the difference is. Then you see it: The skies in this mural are much lighter. The iridescent radiance of the sword is even brighter here, the illusion no doubt enhanced by the light color of the sky. The halfing seems full of energy and vigor, and there are creatures lying dead at his feet.
Unlike the rock strewn landing outside, the interior of the tomb appears well preserved. The only dust you see comes from your own boots, and the polished stone floor appears to lead into a larger chamber just beyond the reach of the light.
Galen:
As I walk into the door, I check for traps (08 passed). Keeping 3 darts at the ready, I look at the murals. Looking at the halfling on both walls, what difference is there. Any symbols he is wearing, any runes on the sword? After I finish with the pictures, I check the walls for doors and move silently (71 nop)down the hall about 15' I stop and listen detect noise (44 passed) to see if their is any movement ahead. I await the others.
Blythe:
I follow the group in, examining the mural, trying to see if I recognize anything. I also check to see if I notice any doors(66 No), or hidden traps(26 yes). I also have out a knife in each hand. O look up to Galen & whispering, "Do you know anything about Halfling History?" I check the east side (Right side), at about 30 feet in.
DM (02/10/01):
Don't know find nuttin unless you send me a roll or two. Updated map is up.
Zhan:
After hearing the old man speak of unity, I follow the group into the hallway and look at the murals on both walls. I see the differnce in the halfling and the sky and ponder the "why" of it. Then I think I understand that the second wall is a mural of what happened after the first one. A look into the future as it were. A spirit of unity. I watch as Galen and Blythe examines the hallway and do not interfere with his thoughts and continue checking them out for myself to ensure my own optimism and and self preservation. I keep my own mind open to my surroundings, focusing on everone as to where they are in the hallway and keeping my Broadswords in hand at the ready. I do know that the old man's voicing of unit should remain with us all and we should keep together for the present. I watch as the others enter behind us, waiting for whatever may come...
DM (02/11/01):
Blythe finds a secert door on the western wall about 20 feet down the hall (see Map)
Jaelin:
Jaelin peers at the murals, her eyes widening in recognition and some disbelief. She shakes her head slightly, murmuring, "It cannot be...they are lost." She looks again, moving closer to the darker mural. Hearing Blythe's comment to Galen, she answers him. "This is not halfling history, 'tis Myth Drannor history." She peers closer at the mural again, the fingertips of her left hand tracing the mosaics. She lets her sword arm relax as she concentrates on the scene, as if comparing and cataloging each part of the mural against her memory. "It is...it can be nothing else," she murmurs, her voice revealing an intensity rarely heard from her.
She turns to the others, "This is a representation of FlameBlade, one of the Bane Blades of the Legends of Myth Drannor." She looks briefly back at the mural. "The Bane Blades were last seen at the fall, but none since. They were created for the defense of Myth Drannor, all five created for either a specific race or a specific kind of person. When held by the right person or race, it was as if they gained years of training, so true was their aim and ability. It became much harder to harm them as well. The undead veered far from its path, as it seemed to have a particularly well-honed taste for them, the FlameBlade surrounding itself with a green flame when they were about." She turns her attention directly to Blythe. "This is a picture of FlameBlade, only to be wielded by a halfling. I know the halfling in this mural. He was the scout for the Major at Arms of the City. And it was he that last wielded FlameBlade, and fell with it at the final battle." She looks down the darkened corridor. "If this is it's tomb..." Her face hardens. "...the time has come to finish what I've trained for." She begins walking further down the corridor, every nerve open to her surroundings.
Blythe:
Studying the mural and listening to Jaelin, I begin to trace in my mind anymore knowledge of this event in History. I continue following her down the corridor.
Lestat:
"Yo BLythe did you not find a door here?" Lestat says, standing by the mural pointing at a section of it. "Man I thought you learned at the shop. Remember that nap you had, did we not learn anything there?". Lestat checks the door again, and after a moment there is a click. "There, that should take care of that." There is the sound of stone grating and a section of the mural moves. Lestat starts to walk into the room when all at once red eyes begin to appear. "MOVE NOW!" Yells Lestat as a spider made of bone comes rushing out. More follow him, filling up the hallway. The one that came out first on Lestat is right on his heels as he rolls and tumbles out of the way.
(DM's Note: spider skeletons AC=5, there are 12 of them. Alistarra's "detect magic" is still in effect, and the ENTIRE ROOM that the spiders come from sends off wave after wave of magic. It is to the point that it is almost overwhelming for her.).
Alistarra:
Allistarra, hearing Jaelin beginning to wax intellectual on the subject of
the "Bane Blades of Demron", she adds her two cents non-chalantly...
"The baneblades of Demron are six individual swords of various types all linked by their creators name. While considered a collective group of weapons by history, the baneblades were merely six separate commissions over 300 years for magical swords to be made by this great enchanter. While Demron gets all the credit for these swords, all of them were a collaborative effort: Dwarves
forged and shaped the blades; elves crafted the ornate, elongated hilts; halflings created the finely-tooled leather and metal scabbards for all; and the human Demron laid the enchantments.
Demron received the commission for the first three swords from Arms-Major Pirphal Faerondaryl for his newest lieutenants. After serious misgivings about elf military conduct, the Major wanted a
sword for each of his new non-elf officers. Thus, in the Year of the Battle Talons (358 DR), a great military ceremony presented Evae-lathil, Mhaorathil, and Morvian to their respective halfling, dwarf, and human wielders, all Akh'Velahr officers. More than a century later, Demron created Faervian, a blade for the use of the senior officers of the Akh'Faer in the Year of the Empty Helm (462 DR). While a special baneblade was ordered for Major Pirphal of the Akh'Velahr in the Year of the Gored Griffon (574 DR), it was lost a mere 16 years later in battle against the black wyrm Crinabnahor.
By the Year of Chasms (633 DR), Demron had spent the last three years creating his final baneblade as the symbolic weapon for the leader of the Akh'Velahr. The human wizard was found dead, slumped over his worktable and the flickering magic of his greatest work. It was later rumored that some thief used this last bane-blade to kill him (a rumor spread by one who did not know the true
origin for the blades' names), but most believe he died of overexertion and the exhaustion of casting such deep enchantments. Another misconception and curiosity about the baneblades are
this collective and human name for them. While some still believe an old wives' tale that they were so named because they proved to be the bane of their creator, it is the loose and liberal translation of their elvish that give them their collective name. As Demron explained to the elves carving the hilts of these weapons, each sword was for a certain type of wielder, and it would have certain powers along certain themes to be reflected in the hilts. In fact, the elf whitesmiths were often the ones to name the blades before enchanting had even begun, thus their elvish names.
This sword (pointing at the Mural) is Evaelathil. Evaelathil means "nemesis of intensity" or"enemy of affection," but it was not created to be a powerful weapon of darkness and abhorrence. Demron created this to be an equalizer between its wielder and any aggressive foe, more in terms of using an enemy's hate against itself than fueling a wielder with it. Always created with the halflings in mind, the sword is as they are, at balance with nature, where there is no excess of emotion, only contentment or lack thereof. This weapon saw 29 wielders in the 35 decades between its creation and the Fall, since either the halflings' natures drove them to retire from their posts and allow another to succeed them or they died in the line of duty. At the time of the Weeping War, the Akh'Velahr scout Ellidor Snowtoes (NG halfm T9) bore Evaelathil proudly throughout the war until his death at the Honorsgate War in Myth Drannor. Someone stole the blade from his corpse and secreted it out of Myth Drannor."
Blythe:
ooc, sorry have been working way too much, and was not able to open map until tonight.
BIC
"Yes Lestat, I have learned something from the shop." With an irritated grin. Taking aim of the first spider: 23 hit, dam 4; 12 missed; 21 hit, dam 5; all on the first one. "haven't you learned anything from me, DON'T go into unknown dark rooms. NOw look what you had to find spiders, BIG UGLY SPIDERS! I HATE spiders, especially ones bigger than me." Brushing off my body as if they were on me, and pulling out more knives, "I hate them, I hate them, I can't stand spiders." and doing a little dance as if they were on me.
Jaelin:
Jaelin stops and turns, looking around. "That pesky-ass voice has started again...what say we take care of it?" She leaps at the nearest spider, her sword swinging as if she means to skewer three of them and serve them up for lunch. In a conversational tone while black icky stuff begins to ooze from the cuts she's making on the spiders, she answers Alistarra. "But you left out the best part! All sorts of rumors surround the bane blades. The one in particular by a bard in Myth Drannor claims that Demron and the Coronal had an intricate and secret plan whereas the six swords stood for life, love, Art, death, hate and war. Each sword would be mighty in its own right, but if the six were ever united, a great lost secret of Myth Drannor would be revealed, and elf and N'Tel'Quess alike would finally understand the truth of the Coronal's and Demron's dreams." [Rolled: 8(+10)=18,17(+10)=27,4(+10)=14: 3 hits][3(+15)=18 pts dmg to first one, 5(+15)=20 pts dmg to second one, 5(+15)=20 pts dmg to third one].
Zhan:
As Jaelin and Blythe begin their tanglings with the little spiders, I start swiping my broadswords against a couple of them myself. I listen to Alistara and Jaelin as they tell us of the blaneblades. A most interesting story I must say. I am very interested, as this sounds to be a most excellent adventure. That is, if we make it through here and whatever else may come.
Rolled 15+4 to hit, 6+4+3+1=14 damage to the first one. 14+4 to hit the second one. 5+4+3+1=13 points damage to the second one.
Galen:
OOC: Sorry guys been busy.
BIC: I grin when I here Lestat show Blyth, but I'm sure he could have, how to get in the door. As I listen to the history lesson, which is very good. I'm think with a blade like one of those, what a name for myself I could make. In the middle of my day dream, I hear Lestat yell and I jerk back to reality. As I see the spiders I know darts want do any good on bones, I turn and run up the wall and on to the ceiling(Cloak of Arachnidia) and change weapons to my rapier...
Blythe:
Still dancing around , trying to avoid any spiders. "Whose pesky voice are you refering to" showing a wounded expression on my face. "I'm not pesky, when you need me."
Allistarra:
Allistarra hastilly brings her holy symbol to bear and begins a rite of Sanctification.
Galen:
...I then make my way over the one on Lestat. When I am above the spider, I place my hands upon the ceiling and release my feet. With my 151lbs and a push off with my hands, tring to crush the spider under my me. (Rolled 16+2=18 AC 0, Damage whatever you come up with) Upon landing tumble (3)to regain a defensive stance.
NARRATION (02/20/2001):
When Ali brings out her amulet, the spiders all stop and start to glow. There is a bright flash of light. "Well done. At least two of you have worked so far, more to come later." It's the same voice as before. It trails off in laughter. Then you see it, the light that is coming from the room that was hidden. When you look inside you close your eyes and look again just to make sure that it is real. IT IS. The room is filled with weapons, armour, books, scrolls, potions, shields, girdles, gauntlets, staffs, wands, bows. Everything is very well made and all is magical. In the middle of the room is a table with a drawer. There is a quill, ink well, and some parchment on the top of the desk. Looking at the parchment you see a list. This is what is wrote on the list. 3 moonblades,4 dancing swords,1 frostbrand 5 ... It ends there. The quill is laying on the parchment. The table and all that is on it, is the only thing that is not glowing with magic.
:::::::::ACTIONS:::::::::
Galen:
As I land my crushing blow on the spider with a flash. As my eyes ajust they grow wide open, I start to step towards the room. But a voice in my head, "If it looks to good, its a trap." As I move to the door I check for traps around the door(32)and as I look around the room. I'm looking to see if their's any rapiers and main-gauches and darts in the room. And what types of armor. "Well guys I think we did something right!"
Zhan:
I too, along with Galen look into the room. I could use some of those things in there, like a new suit of chainmail if it is there, a couple potions, a shield, a girdle of strength, some gauntlets, a staff, a wand and maybe a bow. I don't want too much, do I. Ha-Ha. Anyway, I peer into the room while Galen checks it out for traps and tricks and such... Sure am glad those spiders went away. Thanks Ali and Jaelin. Seems like we need to work together in order for us to make something happen correctly. Methinks that we should remember this and how it works...
DM (02/21/01):
There are no traps at all. In the hall in the room nothing at all. There are rapires. There is chain mail. There are no snails. (sorry I couldn't help myself that whole cat in the hat thing)
Blythe:
"Well, wel guys, we hit the jack pot now!" Rubbing me hands together, And doubling checking that no spiders are on me. I also check to see if there are any traps,60 missed, thinking the coast is clear, I'll check out the room from the inside. "I don't believe anything is here at the door (as I make my way towards anyhting that catchs my Halfling eye) look at all this stuff in here, we are rich!" I begin looking for items that I can use, especially any swords for halflings(short swords). I look for the following, leather armour, rings, knives, daggers, hand axes, cloaks, gloves, belts, and gold. I am keeping my eyes open for anything unusual (dangerous), observation check (10 made ability check).
Allistarra:
::To Jaelin:: "Doesn't this seem like just a wonderful distraction, or a test of virtue, generosity or other such trap? Speaking of a distraction, I can't seem to remember, but I don't believe that the point of coming here was to plunder the past of the Tel'Quessir. Perhaps we should focus on our purpose."
Jaelin:
Jaelin takes in the wonders of the room thoughtfully, watching the others go in. "Actually Ali, plundering the past of Tel'Quessir may give us the answers to accomplish our purpose. Afterall, Ophelia was pointing and going in this direction, so mayhap we need something here to do what we need to do later. Extra potions and weapons never hurt, especially when we have absolutely no idea of what we're up against." She begins rummaging a bit looking for healing potions, spellbooks (both mage and cleric, she'll give any clerical to Ali) and any longswords that would begin to pass her discriminating glance (and it would have to be exceptional to do it).
Zhan:
I start to look for the items that I would like to have. The potions, I look for black and blue vials. The rest of the items on the list I also examine...
Galen:
I walk over to where the rapiers are, looking for elven runes on the blade. As I'm looking "Ali do you know what type of blades were crafted by Demron. Perhaps some of the blades are in here." As I look at them I wonder if the first one I touch is the one I must choose. "Hey guys could it be possible that we are able to take one thing from here. But will we be able to examine and then choose or will it be the first we touch?" For now I just look not touch. (Can you describe what I see-DM)
DM (02/27/01):
(I have already described the room) The first time that something is picked up, it turns black, then to rust, then falls apart into whatever material it was made from. Slowly but surely everything in the room does this except for the desk and what is on it.
Blythe:
" What the ...!(as everything disappears), what kind of treasure room is this, a desk and paper with a list, what are we suppose to do with this, read to the enemies." I start looking around the desk for any secret compartments, 71= failed for secret compartments,59=success for traps,51= success to remove. I also look for any weapon that looks like a short sword, disguised as somthing else.
DM (02/27/01):
(MAN YOU PEOPLE BETTER REMEMBER THE NARRATIONS. BLYTHE TAKE 1000 EXP) Blythe looking around the desk remembers the DRAWER. He finds a trap but it is broken and does not work anymore.
Blythe:
I check again for traps around the desk, WOW 100% I failed big time. I begin to say bye to my fingers. Well with my remaining others; 9,8,7,6, I hope that not I didn't lose anymore fingers: I grab the box thingy and scream OUCH! "Damn!, again things to read." Looking around the room and grubbling to myself, "Jaelin can you read, wait a minute, I forgot, I think I might be able to ( 3%, made it ) I check the book out, Maybe there are ancient jokes in here." opening the book, I realize I can't read.
Galen:
As I watch in almost tears as these rapiers just just away. "This was not a funny joke old man" saying to the room. As Blythe was counting down I come up from behind, "what you got!" "Whats in the drawer?" "Well this book might tell us what blades are in here, or ones that were mad here." "You know blythe, I don't like that old man anymore. Riddles are one thing but when he teases that just wrong" Galen starts to laugh. "Lighten up."
Zhan:
I forget completely about anything that was in our hands and draw my swords. I look around cautiously at everyone to make sure they are ok and then back against the wall next to the door we entered from. What do you guys think we should do now? I wait for suggestions...
Blythe:
"Galen, maybe your right, there better be something in this room, who the hell puts GIANT spiders (quickly looking over my body and giving a shudder and an Ugh face) in a room to gaurd a book. "Zhan, I think we should choke the living @#*^ out of that damn voice. I mean who plays these cruel jokes on anyone, especially a Halfling." "I think we should check the four walls for more secret doors, and the floor for any trap doors." I look on the floor near the desk,53= success.
Jaelin:
Jaelin tries, but is unable to read the book. "It's magical alright, but no magic I know." She looks to Ali, "Want to try?" She hands the book to Ali as the others are checking for traps and doors. "I don't know. I know I want to go further down that hallway and see what's down there, but you're right. This room doesn't make sense. You'd think those spiders were guarding SOMETHING. Maybe it's the book, but maybe not."
Allistarra:
Allistarra looks over the writing carefully, and if she is unable to read it, she will cast Read Magic. If stil unable to decipher the text, she will cast comprehend languages.
NARRATION (03/12/01):
(Hey, she did it HOOOOOORRRRRRRAAAAAAAA!!!!!!)
When Ali graps the book. It is magic but not wizard magic that the book is. It is druid magic. The book begins to glow and you can see the shadow of a dragon take form over Ali. Her face becomes calm and you can see for the frist time the beatuy of her when she is not so sickly looking. One word appears on the book "Moonwells".
Allistarra:
Allistarra quietly relates the contents of the book to her party. The book talks about different things. The moonwells and thier creation. The swords of Myth Drannor.
It tells about all of the swords. Who can use them what they were used for. And some of their powers. It also says that when you find one sword it will give the location of the next one. They are spread out all over the world. Each sword in tuned to a moonwell, for they have to be of pure engery. The only place to find such energy is at a moonwell. It is believed that if all of the swords were found and taken to their rightful moonwell, a great secret of the fall would be revealed to the wearers of the weapons and that they alone could right the wrong that was done.
There is also a very shocking fact that could be found out that could change the outcome of a race for all time. Make sure you are willing to change a race of people forever! Are you willing to change the world that you live in FOREVER!?!?
After having read this, Allistarra comments, "I am not of the opinion that this needs to be discussed immediately. Rather we should keep our minds on the situation at hand, and try not to die."
OOC: DM, if we are in the range of my sanctuary spell, and are about to edxplode in a burt of Positive Material Energy, Allistarra moves the party to a safer place.
Galen:
I watch as Ali goes to the book. As she begins to read and I see the dragon form over Ali, I asome the tiger stance and bow. I then return to listen to what Ali is reading. "What type of swords are they" I ask. "And is the first one in this tomb" After we hear what was said, I go and check the hall. And start to check for traps down the hall, 10 foot at a time. (DM you can roll 70%)
Blythe:
I cover Galen and follow him, so he doesn't have any suprises. whispering to galen. "You know, I think we are being watched, I am not sure we are alone here."
Whispering again to Galen, " I don't think we are alone, I get a felling we are being watched." I cover Galen while he checks for traps, if I think he missed any I also check (roll needed, 60%).
NARRATION (03/21/01):
(Let me know what you are doing with the book) MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE MAP.)
As you walk out of the book-room and down the hall there are no traps to be found. As Galen and Blythe enter the next room more of those crimson globes light that area. They are swaying slightly, just below the ceiling. Cracks run across the surface of plaster, making a beautiful pattern in the stone. Nevertheless, the ceiling appears to be safe.
The first thing that you notice in this chamber is a huge silver circle, 30 feet in diameter, that has been inlaid into the stone floor. A large sun symbol is set into the center. Eight round, shallow depressions encircle the outer edge of the symbol, and each depression nearly touches a ray from the sun.
Ten small alcoves are set into the walls, five each on the north and south sides of the chamber. A glint in the darkness of each alcove cathes your eye. When you move closer to inspect the alcoves, you find a golden three-foot- tall pot in each one.
A message appears to have been melded into the silver door to the west. In common, it reads: "Some decisions are more lasting than others." Beneath the the writing on the door you see a strange symbol.
Galen:
"SSHH, I know Blythe, something is always watching in a dark place." As I continue to creap down the hall, and as I walk into the room. "WOW" then closing my mouth with a snap. "Hey Blythe come look" and motion him forward. "You see those gold pots, I wonder what's cooking?" I start to laugh then quickly cover my mouth. "Hey why are we whispering if we're being watch?" As I talk normal.
NARRATION (03/24/01):
Ali walks into the room with the others, after a few moments of deep debating she walks up to one of the alcoves (A)
The golden pot in this alcove seems to glow brighter as you approach. Just as she reaches inside to pick it up, it disappears.
Blythe:
"More dissappearing, What is going on here?" I walk over to one of the alcoves, I check to see if there is any writing aroung these objects.
Galen:
As Ali goes to one of the pots, I move to one. (G) As I approach I'm looking for any symbols in the area of the pot or on the pot. To see if their's any pattern in the floor and the pots.
Zhan:
As Blythe and Galen look around the room, I follow them to the doorway. Ali moves past me into the room and I see her go to one of the pots and it dissapears. I look around the room and wonder about the depressions in the floor. I go up to one of them and study it for awhile. I also wonder about the writing that we see. I wait for the rest of the group to enter without touching anything...
