"We agree that Julian is a great find."

Ian Sander, executive producer of "Profiler" 1996-1998.

Julian McMahon is a native Australian. He was born in Sydney on the 27th of July in 1968. Julian has two sisters. His late father, Sir William, was the Prime Minister of the country during the 1970's. Despite the family wealth, Julian took nothing for granted: at twelve he was working to earn extra pocket money. He worked for a gardener, a job he says he loved.

He was a bit of rebel in his school days, but wisened up when he had to repeat year 10. Since that he's been "a good boy". He joined the rugby union and you could say that he was already researching his "Profiler" role in his youth, with him acting as a senior prefect (a senior pupil with limited disciplinary powers over others) and being a senior under officer in the cadets.

He studied law at the University of Sydney for a year and also attended the University of Wollongong as an economics student, but found out quickly that the academic world wasn't meant for him. At twenty he was signed for a Pepsi ad and his modeling career took off. Julian appeared in print modeling assignments and travelled to Paris, New York, Milan and Rome. Nevertheless, an ad for jeans sparked off his actor career in Australia, as he was cast to a role in a popular drama series. For his second drama show, "Home And Away", he was voted most popular actor in a tv series two years running. On stage, Julian has appeared in "Love Letter", "Women In Control" and "Romeo And Juliet".

Julian met his first wife, Dannii Minogue, on the set of "Home And Away". They married in 1994 in the amidst of huge attention from the newspapers. However, as Julian's work took him to the United States and Dannii remained in Australia, they grew apart and divorced in 1997. Julian was also married to Brooke Burns of "Baywatch Hawaii" fame, and they have a daughter called Madison together. Right now, Julian is single again.

The best piece of advice he ever received came from his father, who encouraged Julian to enjoy his life. He has aspirations to depict Indiana Jones, he loves to cook and wouldn't mind having dinner with Marilyn Monroe and Cleopatra. Julian is active in cancer charities.
