Boo’s Blades

Full plate and packing steel!

From medieval times to modern day Olympics, fencing has made it’s mark on the world and is now available on campus!

Fencing is one of four original sports to feature in all modern Olympic Games and will probably be around for a while longer. Made great by movies such as ‘The Mask of Zorro’ and ‘The Princess Bride’, our members get to live out their ‘Star Wars’ fantasies and learn how to rescue damsels in distress.

Why Boo’s Blades you ask? Well, a good number of our members are computer game fanatics, and have a love for the Baldur’s Gate series by Black Isle. The feature that stands out most from this RPG is the character Minsc and his Miniature Giant Space Hamster – Boo. Often at tournaments you can hear us spouting dialogue lines made famous by Minsc in the game.

If your sense of adventure has been aroused, you can find out more about the history and workings of fencing here.

To see how our members have performed in previous Tournaments and Provincial Opens, be sure to visit our results page.

Be sure to read the NEWS section for all the latest happenings in Boo’s Blades.

Find us in the Movement Room of the Hexagon Theatre Complex every Wednesday and Thursday from 19h00 to 21h00.
