Mythology

In Roman mythology, Jupiter (also known as Jove) was the God of the heavens and King of the Gods. In Greek mythology, his counterpart Zeus was the patriarch of a highly dysfunctional family. While Jupiter is based on Zeus, it is clear that the Romans thought more highly of the moral fiber of their chief god, as Jupiter was rarely depicted as being involved in adulterous affairs and the destruction of the human race (both of which were among Zeus's favorite pasttimes). Some would say (myself among them) that this makes Zeus more interesting; but then, some people (myself among them) are in serious need of help.
